well you shouldn't go or trust any of those sites, as anything you download from there could be a virus , some of the most advanced viruses attack the partition so even if you think you can avoid the virus by having two independent drives then think again since it can jump any barriers

yeah ADDs often haver viruses and the like i use ABP add block plus and no script and more with linux so i have yet top have a problem on sites sofar microsoft is so 90s

It would be shit and have more false detections than the good ones.

It may be in one of the ads on there but I don't see ads and load no scripts.

So I visited piratebay to see what was happenign with the place. A few mins later fake anti-virus software was installed on my computer then I realised what was going on hit start hsutdown restart and that triggered the virus to fuckup my mbr.

The only way to browse safely is a non-persistent virtual machine. You have a pristine OS (any OS) every time you start it up. And performance is not an issue if your hardware is within a few years old.

I've received a virus on two separate occasions from tpb both of those times it was immediately after searching for a torrent. It wasn't too catastrophic as I set up a restore point just before going to the site, knowing the benefits out weigh the risk

I'd say it's time to format and re-install your operating system. Perfect working copies of corporate XP are available on P/B and they work great. No serial...no activation and no register. I can re-install as often as needed. My advice?...Get a cheap computer for P/B purposes only. Let that one get the virus, if there is one. That way you're not wrecking a good computer.....Or...start using Linux Ubunto.

So, those false alerts that you TPB advertisers keep talking about? They disabled my task manager, kept me from getting on the internet, slowed down my computer to a crawl, and disabled my virus scans. Twice. The first time the computer blue screened a couple of times and then crashed altogether. The second time, I knew what was coming and caught it in time. That's some pretty impressive work for a false alert!

I've just got my computer clean again and I'm here trying to find out how to keep that stuff from getting on my computer, but it looks pretty clear... Stay off TPB.
