Help! Why the hell to lights flicker around me?
I never believed this was a phenomenon until I caught someone asking the same question on a different forum before, and I just dismissed it.

Now I'm a firm believer. Wtf it this? It happens everywhere I go, when I'm driving down the highway to when I'm just walking down the street. It goes both ways as well, lights that are off will turn on and lights that are on will turn off.

And it almost always happens at least three times. The last time it happened while I was driving down the the highway, three lights in a row blinked out as I was approaching them, maybe 50 ft away, and when I got near the fourth consecutive street light, that was completely off, it turned full-on. WTF? These are very tall highway lights. I went to school for engineering and I KNOW there is no explanation for this.

When I'm walking down my street there is one particular light, in a row of lights, that goes from barely blinking to full on every time I pass it. Every single time. Whenever people are in front of me and walk by the light nothing happens, it's only when I get up to it that it turns on. WTF?

I've read that it's some energy b.s. that I'm giving off but I wonder if it's some kind of gaurdian angel? I don't know but all I can say is that it creeps me the hell out. Sometimes I can almost predict which light I'm going ot turn off or turn on.

wtf

you could have a gift. electro magnetic field around you or something. do some studies on the pineal gland and activate yours, you may be able to do some very interesting things...

OR, could be demon spirits/bad negative energy following you... fucking up the electro magnetic fields. ive heard numerous cases where bad entities are in someones home and plays wit the lights, makes them even explode sometimes.. be careful

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Street light interference, or SLI, is an alleged anomalous phenomenon where a person seems to turn off (or sometimes on) street lights, or outside building security lights, when passing near them.

Although street lights sometimes turn on and off by chance (especially at the end of their life cycle), believers in street light interference tend to claim that it happens to them personally on a regular basis, more frequently than chance would explain. Some propose paranormal explanations for SLI, sometimes based on scientific terminology, such as the explanation that electrical impulses in their brain interfere with the workings of electric lights. Anecdotes about people's experiences of SLI have been reported by news sources.[1][2]

SLI has never been demonstrated to occur in a scientific experiment, and those who claim to cause it have been found to be unable to reproduce the effect on demand; they give the explanation that the effect is not within their mental and physical control.[3] Many times they do report, however, that it occurs with specific lamps and not just randomly shutting off street lights or electrical lamps in general.

Re: Help! Why the hell to lights flicker around me?
When people made electricity to run along metal wires to just about everywhere in big cities, they were unaware of human potential. I have the same problem. It's disturbing: streetlights go out or flicker at a different pattern, some lights glow pinkish-purplish when I go by. At work it was a frequent issue, and once in the middle of a meeting, after hearing bad news from the boss about department scores, the light right above me went out. It scared the crowd, but I didn't flinch because I was used to it by then. So it might have something to do with moods.

Once a light turned pink around me, and I yelled at it to go away, and it did. That was scary, and it made me think that these lights were from another intelligence, an annoying one. RSPK or poltergeist, maybe.

I have to be in a good mood for lights to change, and fully alert. Happy even. I don't know why it happens, but I'm not surprised anymore. It might be RSPK, or psychokinesis, that the gas within the lightbulb is being changed, or the filament is being changed.

By the way, I also have a problem with a magnetic compass. When I hold one close to my torso -- navel area -- the N needle points toward me no matter what direction I'm pointing.

The guy who built Coral Castle in Florida said that we are all electromagnets, so I'm thinking he knows why this stuff happens. Too bad he's dead.

I don't know what causes it. Happens all the time. Not only that, but I can't wear watches; they stop. Various appliances freeze or go up in smoke for no reason. I've been through more hairdryers and hand mixers than anyone sould ever have to...etc.

Just be glad we don't electrocute ourselves all the time.

Re: Help! Why the hell to lights flicker around me?
I'm a bit puzzled why the obvious answer to most of these observations is not discussed. Or at least not ehere I've looked...

It's largely a simple perception issue. Think about it - and bear in mind that I noticed this same effect last night as I was walking home (two occasions in about 3 km (2miles)).

Firstly bear in in that a lot of street lights use a type of light that, as they age, do NOT simply fail. They start to turn off and on - they operate for a while, overheat, and then go out. They then cool (usually it only takes a few minutes, sometimes it can be less than a minute), and then turn on again. By standing there and watching, you can verify this effect.

Now, let's say that light is 2 hundred metres/yards away. It goes out, but you were probably looking elsewhere. Or if you were walking or driving you may see it go out but because you are moving, everywhere around you lights go on and off as things OBSCURE them. Trees/poles, other objects move in between them and you.. So you are (sub-consciously) used to this behaviour, and therefore your brain doesn't take notice of what *actually* happened.

However, when you get up close, you suddenly notice when the lamp turns on or off, because you are right there.

Initially when you see this happen, you might correctly think that it was just a faulty lamp, but as you see it happening more and more (and it *is* happening more and more as this type of light has become more common over the last ten years or so, and now many of them are getting old and flaky), you may start to think - "hey that must be ME causing it!".

So, next time you see it happen, STOP. Watch the light for several minutes, and see if it is doing what I say. That's what I did to test the theory, and guess what. It's NOT me causing it.

But I DO also see it happening, and it does seem like it is the observer's 'fault'. In a way, it IS.

That makes sense...and I believe some of them are on a timer to save energy. Perception very well could play a large role.

What about the rest of it? The shorting out of appliances, watch-stopping, etc. Any theories on those?

Nup. No idea! (O;

Last electric thing I broke was a cheap kitchen handmixer in a too-thick dough - went slower and slower and then made a nasty arcing sound - so i don't think it was me...

With regard to the Street Light Interference thing, it would be pretty easy to prove/disprove with video, but I've never seen anyone attempt it. Maybe I'll go and film that one I referred to near my place, but that will just show it periodically switches on and off as I described, and that my presence has nothing to do with it except the perception..

Bodies do emit some electrical energy, but at levels that are very small compared to other devices, eg mobile phones. I'd be checking what I had on me, and also whether the devices may have been about to fail already, before assuming it was something about me.

One other thing though - some folk have rather acidic (alkaline? both? can't remember) sweat! I can't wear silver jewelry... It's fairly well known that some cameras, for instance, don't have good seals around the controls and can allow ingress of sweat during normal use, and that they may then prematurely fail because of corrosion on printed circuits or solder joints.

And there's always the chance it is something that us mainstreamers don't understand, but I'm one of those folk who needs a bit more evidence to go on first. Show me the facts!

Re: Help! Why the hell to lights flicker around me?
What are you thinking about when the lights turn off (or on)? It may be related.

It has been my observation that lights turning off are generally associated with negative things and may be a warning, while lights turning on tend to be positive. That's just a theory based on my personal experiences, and it's entirely possible that something is just messing with me, but it has held true so far. I'm really not sure if this is caused by just me, or it is being caused by something spiritual around me. My sister and some other family members have had issues with lights as well, and most of my mom's side of the family has had a lot of spiritual experiences in general.

Street lights are the most common for me, but I usually don't think too much of them because there are enough plausible explanations for them shutting off on their own. But when it happens at the very second that I think about something or someone, and that continues to happen over time, then I find that suspicious. What has more of an impact on me are other lights, particularly indoor lights, which don't have a reason for freaking out, especially because it happens at the very moment that I'm nearby and am thinking about something that fits this pattern.

I've also had a handheld flashlight turn itself on right in front of me, so I turned it off, then it turned itself on again... that was a good and oddly comforting experience, because I was thinking about a family member who had passed away a couple of days earlier.

Welcome to your awakening slider/starseed you dismissed it before because you were not ready to awaken, the effects of the lights is caused by an increase in energy attained at the onset of awakening thus creating interferance in the atmosphere around you now you are in the early stages...it is going to be a wild ride but we are here and have been for a long time...the world needs you/us...
