Exactly.
Used to happen to me all of the time & was terrifying for a while.
Once I figured out what they were, no problem now.

Floating translucent moving shapes wake me every once in a while. I see them float in the air toward me. I begin to try and wake my husband, and say look look look while pointing toward it. It then goes away and he never sees it. This has happened many times over many years in many locations including hotels. This phenomenon has followed me to dozens of states and to foreign countries. My husband thinks it is some type of brain damage from a head injury that I received. I hate it. I wish it would never happen again. I am not paralyzed, but thrashing, pointing, and talking. Several times I ran out of the bedroom in a panic.

"There are Aliens Demonic in Origin, and There are Aliens Angelic in Origin".

It doesn't happen any more. And I prayed the only prayer I knew. To G-d The Father. And some may say incubi and succubi are the stuff of myth and legend, but every culture has spoken of them whether in their writings or passed down in their stories.
Why would aliens ( good, benevolent beings with our best interest in mind, soooo concerned about Our Planet and what we are doing to destroy Our Planet ) scare people out of their wits by taking them out of their beds and raping them? Because that's what it is.
That night, when I was praying, I was fighting.

One night I was praying ... And I had an awesome vision.
It started to manifest in 3D, almost like a relief or a painting coming into being, piece by piece.
I was praying for a friend. And I saw her kneeling down at a rock. It was a vast dark sky overhead. And I asked G-d what I was seeing. And He said: ( in my spirit ) 'she has to find me at her garden of gethsemane. pray for her, but do not do her praying for her'. Then high in the sky, 20 feet from the ground, there was a semi circle of huge white beings. I mean huge. Again I asked G-d what does this mean. He said: 'tighten the circle of prayer around her'. Then these Angelic Beings locked hands,
( the hands came out from huge wings, could be I saw wings because that's how Angels have always been depicted ) but The Angels were so close together, like a line of scrimage. And I will never forget that. When I came out of it, and I do mean out of it, I was left in awe.
Not frightened like the sleep paralysis.

Both are Angels ... But one group are the fallen ones, the demonic ones. And a person will know the difference in their spirit.

I've suffered from hypnogogic/hypnopompic hallucinations since I was 12. I am now a 34 year old male. Over the years, I have found some interesting sites, inclduing an interesting article that was given to me by a neurologist that diagnosed me with this about 6 years ago. I thought I was going crazy and sought out a psychiatrist. No one I explained this too ever understood what I was talking about. "No, it's not a nightmare because I am aware of my surrounding and my eyes are open. I can hear the TV if it's on, see lights if they're on. I'm awake, well, at least half a wake..." Most doctors and even psychologists and psychiatrists will want to dismiss this as a nightmare. WE know the difference between a bad dream and a hypnogogic/hypnopompic "episode" as I call it.

As with most people it comes and goes. For me, it has a lot to do with stress and being overly-tired. I've noticed that I get a mild frontal headache the day it will happen. Like tonight, I am tired and have a "heavy head" headache and am 90% sure I will have an episode this evening. Boy, do I dread going to sleep tonight!

Let me explain some of my symptoms. Maybe some of you have these too:

Right before I start to fall asleep, I can feel sort of a heaviness in my head. I usually will hear something similar to ringing in my ears. For me, that's usually the tell-tale sign that I will have an episode. The ringing gradually gets louder to that of a loud hum, them BAM, the paralysis hits and the hallucinations begin.

I ALWAYS feel that there is someone in the room wishing to do me harm. It's an "evil" presence. It feels spiritual. The presence never feels benign, but always feels evil and wanting to do me harm. This is the problem that I have with the purely physiological diagnosis of this "disease." Hallucinations can be both pleasant and frightening. Have any of you ever had a pleasant "episode" of this? I bet not. Same with dreams. We all have "nice" and "bad" dreams. Again, anyone ever had a pleasant "episode" where you wished it didn't end, or that it would happen again? I assume no.

During the paralysis it's a mental wrestling match. As much as I try to calm myself and tell myself it's only a hallucination, I find myself struggling to move, sit up, do anything to make it stop. People have said to just relax and go with it, but to do so feels like it will kill you. One's primitive "fight or flight" instinct kicks in and you try like hell to make it stop. These days when the struggle begins, I feel like trying to sit up and can almost feel my "soul" trying to get into an upright position while my body lies still. I am fighting, screaming, cussing, and arguing with this "presence." Sometimes I fear that others are hearing me yell, but my cat is sound asleep by my side not aware of anything that is happening.

Last night I had an episode that was the most violent of all. It lasted quite a while to. Usually the "presence" doesn't really have a face or body, but you can just sense that it's a "someone/something" that is "evil." Last night, I saw an outline of a body with glowing feet. Talk about halloween-like ghosts and goblins! I was really struggling with the paralysis like I never had before. I almost felt what was like my soul separating from my body. When it ended, I was so scared. Almost like when you were little and too scared to get of bed to go to the bathroom.

I finally got up, and something told me to go check the doors to make sure they were all locked. This is how freaked out I got last night. I finally crawled back into bed and was sound asleep within a few moments. Sometimes I will get these back-to-back. Does that ever happen to any of you? Sometimes I can stop it from evening happening, but that's rare.

Ok, I've gone on and on 'cause I needed to share this with people that understand. Do you guys understand?

This is my question: if this is purely physiological and the medical profession says it is, then WHY are the hallucinations unpleasant and never pleasant? Drug induced hallucinations can be either: euphorically pleasant or deathly terrifying. Ask anyone that has done acid, mushrooms, peyote or another hallucinagenic (sp?) Same with dreams. WHY are these episodes terrifying? Boy, it would be nice to have a hallucination where I am on a warm beach in Hawaii, or the South of France :)

Lastly, are any of you spiritual or religious people. I would consider myself both. I'm an Eastern Christian.

Has anyone encountered a (zeta reticuli) "grey" entity during sleep paralysis?

In answer to poster above, you are right... the experiences are never pleasant! That tells me something.

As for what it is, I have no idea. I have had them, but thankfully not regularly. Stress was also brought up as a trigger, thinking back, I do remember when I was split up with my husband ( didn't want to be) that I had the most horrible ones.

I could feel "it" getting into bed with me as soon as I had lain down for the night. I could sense it's intention was sexual in some way, and it took all my courage to turn over ( I had my back to it) and get up and turn on the light.

Other things like that, noises, feeling the bed move...


Earlier years, sleeping alone while husband was working off I had something that would get on top of me too. I was awake. I couldn't move. I assume it was sleep paralysis, but it was sure scary. Felt very real. An evil presence. Now I'm more an agnostic, but I swear this thing felt evil, so I have no explanation for it.

Oh yea... voices talking to in some episodes about what they were going to do with me. No I'm not crazy I promise. I have been checked lol ... It doesn't happen now, but to be honest.. I always know it could happen anytime and that scares me.
