Astrology - Proof of highly technological ancient civilizations?

It's late, and I'm out for a smoke, looking at the stars, and it occurs to me:

All these ancient civilizations with AStrological charts, which are always discussed but never looked very deeply at, aren't we missing the bigger picture?

How in the hell did these Astrologers know about constellations that aren't in their hemisphere???

Forget about the accuracy, and the advanced math required to sort it all out...

What about the stars they never saw? How did they know about them?

Perhaps I misunderstand or over-estimate the charts they possessed, but I always hear about how complete and thorough they were.

The constellations of the zodiac are along the line of the ecliptic, which is not inclined to the line of the celestial equator enough to make any of the constellations in the zodiac specific to either hemisphere; many people in both hemispheres can see the entire array of constellations along the ecliptic. How the Mayans built a calendar superior to even modern man's capabilities, that is very impressive.

I once thought of a theory.......

The Earth must have had a much weaker gravitational effect. The clues are this,

1 - Stone monuments to heavy to build. It would explain pyramids and the such.
2 - Creatures, like dinosaurs, to big to live under there own weight. Explains why they died off. Flying creatures were larger back then.
3 - Fish fossils in areas where there is no ocean
4 - Gravity is fluctual, meaning the chances of gravity remaining constant is not as likelyu as it can alter.

Just a theory but it would explain soooo many historical mysteries.
