In one of Reich's early experiments with cloud busters, he inserted a piece of radioactive material, after which time many people in the surrounding area felt ill, and, he claimed, UFOs showed up. After that, Reich switched out the radioactive material, aimed the positive orgone at the atmosphere, and the gloom and UFOs supposedly disappeared.

Following this incident, Reich was convinced that UFOs were demonic, that he could banish them, and that the US president was probably secretly aware of, and proud of, Reich for banishing UFOs.

Next, Reich heard about Roswell, so he took his cloudbuster out to New Mexico to chase off the aliens. They were already gone. However, there had been a prolonged and severe drought in the area, with no signs of incipient rain. So Reich set up the cloudbuster in the desert, and drenching rains followed soon thereafter.

I am a fan of some of Reich's theories, and had swallowed the stories about the Us government jailing him for being too revolutionary. In fact, he was jailed because he arrogantly continued to ship his "orgone boxes" across state lines, after that was declared illegal, and then he ignored repeated summons to show up for trial. Against the advice of his friends and legal counsel.
