On page 141, Chaol said

Visualizing the details may have the opposite effect from what you intend.

Your perspective may be asking, "Why do you want to go to that reality when you are already experiencing it right now in your imagination?"

If you're discovering it in your current perspective (and not just imagining it) it would be effective.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17229277

Thank you for the reminder. Chaol also wrote that our thoughts, dreams and imagination are already physical, so that if we see it in our imagination, then it already exists physically, and does not have to manifest any further than that.

Right! I remember that.
The trick is how to go about it, then! lol

Chaol asked what has changed since 10 or 20 years ago, and in the first world, not much - it's like we're living the zombie version of 1998 over and over again. It's like each year we just take the old 1998 and multiply it with itself.

2012 = (zombie 1998) ^ 12

But it looks like there are places that are still cycling. At least they're moving although I'll leave it to others to say which direction things are moving in.

But at least they're moving, instead of stuck in a cultural rut that gets a little deeper every year.

Sometimes, I post stupid things to this thread. Often, a day after I make an unlearned statement, I slap myself in the head and go, "Oh! That's what it is!"

Chaol, I know, I know, it's just
Coincidence :)
 Quoting: Chaol

and it is very humorous, but is there anything a bit more substantial waiting for us in the wings?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6853315

The coincidences and synchronicities are significant. In fact, I would like to acknowledge that they are flying fast and furious within my reality. These are not just parlor tricks. I think I "get" what this is all about, but I find it hard to describe.

From Page 91
What do you get when two corners that were previously kitty-corner are now side-by-side?
 Quoting: Chaol

So, too, are the kitty corners meeting side-by-side more often. I have gotten past the "!!!" and now laugh at it when it happens.

btw, I posted a link to a graphic I drew in response to Chaol's post back in February and was immediately banned for 60 days! I cannot even tell you all which imaging site not to use, because, apparently, the very mention of it will get me banned.

@Chaol,

In other words, it's the current reality expanding, rather than a sudden switch of realities. Maybe because what I intend to experience is too close to where I am at already... Already living in nature, I envision the farm locally.

Ironically, the jump would seem easier if I imagined I was living in fairy land and had superpowers, with never seen before creatures, you name it. [Because a jump is the only logical way to a drastic change]. But for now I want to play with this "expansion", to master it, and because it would be fun to experience.

How do I go about it, and what to do with the fireplace/kitchen pantry portal?

Thanks!

You've put into words something I was wondering. Because the preferred reality for me is way and beyond anything I have experienced in this current reality, and most other people, too. Be interested to hear anyone's thoughts on this, and yours, Chaol, when you return. Thanks

Thank you for this. Apart from what Vallee speaks about, this video is so full of synchronicities that I had to pause it midway and walk away for a minute.

1. Last night, I watched the movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The lead scientist in the movie is a premier UFOlogist who spoke French. Now I see that the character was obviously modeled after Jaques Vallee.

2. I came online afterwards and made a post about Terrance McKenna's analysis of UFOs, and included an excerpt in which he mentions how Jaques Vallee began a different line of inquiry regarding the phenomenon.

3. In the TED lecture, Valle mentions that there are many "TOEs" being developed currently, and that is why he is presenting a "Theory of Everything (else)". I have been reading Thomas Campbell's "My Big T.O.E". In his book, Campbell stresses how our reality is a subset of a larger reality, which is what Vallee is also saying.

4. This morning, I was reading a thread on a different forum about someone having made an unusual mistake in an experiment with time, and someone posted a joke that he had found "the square root of -1". Vallee mentions that physicists use the symbol "t" with a "-1" in front of it to denote time.

5. and on and on....

Vallee also mentions that some coincidences have no particular meaning; that there is no special message attached to them. He says that it is just the way the world is ordered. I think this is a good point.

The coincidences I have a lot of are seeing 5:55:55 / 4:44 / 3:33 (or the infamous 11:11) on the clock. A real humdinger was seeing 1:11 on the rice cooker clock - that hasn't been set. Yes, I'm now seeing coincidences on clocks - that are wrong.

Also Chaol - what kind of clothing to people wear in your world? What does the dapper male out on the town for the night, what does he wear? What about around the house? To bed? I know you probably can't make a .pdf of a dress pattern, but maybe point out a movie or a picture on teh interwebz of someone wearing something similar?

Have fun getting reprogrammed by your moon unit, er, I mean main unit :P

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6853315

It is a good point. I think Campbell has it right. Basically it is all ordered by the intent of the collection of relationships within a system we sometimes refer to as "consciousness" to push the probability just far enough to augment chance in the direction desired. SO, those "truly" random experiences would just be your lack of intent within a certain decision space.

So based on Chaol's teachings, we see that... Not only is intent involved in altering chance, we have unbounded control of it.

It's all about intending properly. That is where Chaol and Campbell differ. As I see it, Chaol is having us intend a space where randomness can thrive with some powerful attachments and Campbell is telling us that we can intend the randomness into submission.

I love this stuff.

Yes, as I see it, you know held within the shell of the symbol you currently perceive, there is the actual singularity of relationship. They are the repeating patterns just outside of your perception. All as if they're implied by your current experience. It's all perceived via deep fractal metaphor.
Nothing is irrelevant.

 Quoting: Marshwiggle

Oh, that would be my preferred reality too, I am ready for the change!
I thought of starting with something closer to my current reality, more familiar, to master the technique, up to the 2012-2013 timeframe.

Maybe, what I am attempting to achieve, is kind of old and outdated (it feels this way to me), and it is the source of my resistance. I yearn for more. Moving from my current point A, to a more familiar B, represents to me getting my "pilot's license", before taking off... and this might not be necessary.

So, here is the potential paradox... A bigger jump may be easier, because the times require that kind of jump, going along with the currents of change, rather than against the flow.

(Except that if any dream is as good as any other, why wouldn't it work?)

The issue of how to use the portal remains the same, independent of the preferred reality. Where I am stuck, is that Chaol said it's best not to dwelve into details. I am looking at the portal, not knowing how to go about it, even if I revise the idea of what I want to experience, and now my house is in magicland or my home planet, and I am able to teleport.

I wonder if all it takes, is interacting with the portal/symbol, simply knowing that "on the other side" it appears as the other representation. (bag/candle - fireplace/pantry). The more you interact, the more you make what it represents relative to you.

At the same time, we look for the values in every other symbol (our surroundings), discovering how that alternate reality is represented in our current perspective. But then... wouldn't everything be a portal, we just picked a specific one to focus on?

Still trying to figure out how to apply this.

Yes, imagination and dreams are a way of experiencing. That's why Chaol said it's best not to think too much of details, otherwise imagination would suffice (least amount of energy), because it's physical too.

... but if there was no difference between that, and actually being there fully, as a denser physical experience, then why teach us the technique on how to get there? It would have been easier to say "Just imagine it". Instead, we are tought how to work with symbols, how to make it more relative, etc.

I want to "enter" the alternate reality fully. Imagination still keeps part of me here.

My understanding is that the geometry of relationships is within everything in your perspective, between everything. I recall Chaol saying that you change that geometry, even by placing a mug next to your computer monitor.
