Even though we have learned that space is not physical, this article about reaching the very edges of our solar system still excites my neurons. Look at what we have here with the Voyagers I and II: symbols, logic, interaction and possibilty. All of the gods are involved.

I still don't understand why the website says:

"Your physical body is mostly non-human.

Emotions like happiness and loneliness, diseases like cancer and schizophrenia, and abilities like cognition and communication are actually infections we get from animals, food, the environment, outer space, and other people."

Sounds to me like there is physicality (but we are evolving away from it) and also there is something outside of a single perspective. Otherwise, why would one create an infection from outer space?

Could Chaol possibly believe in a Higher Power but not call it that or not recognize it? Has anyone ever asked Chaol who created him? (I have a question waiting on him in another post earlier in this thread. I believe he does believe in some kind of outer influence....after all, he says it just happened that he met his girlfriend....what made it "just happen?:)

I think he likes to use language that he believes we will understand. Chaol's "infected" is a funny word. The way I see Chaol use it, there is an implication of an almost symbiotic relationship with that which "infects" or has a relationship to us.

If you "have" cancer, you're exploring the relationships around "cancer". Chaol had noted previously that to drink alcohol is to merge your perspective with the "alcohol" perspective. We experience these as "infections", but they're an exploration of what we perceive to be alternate perspectives or even ways of perceiving (if we consider more "intense" drugs etc..).

I would imagine that Chaol would state "a Higher Power"(like I think you'd define it Unit) is imperceptible and therefore irrelevant. If you were able to perceive "a higher power" you'd be "infecting" your perspective with it and since all that really exists is "you" and "your" perspective, that "higher power" is "you" in the same way that person falling over drunk in your perspective is "you".

I'd argue (personally) there is no "higher power", but then again there is no way to argue against the imperceptible. If you're exploring the "victim" perspective, there would be many "higher powers". Likewise if you work a "day job" and have a "boss" wouldn't they hold the title of "higher power" in some contexts?

I see "physicality" as the language we currently use to define our perspective. In that way, no matter what perspective you hold, you will define it as "physical" although that "physicality" may be in stark contrast to "this" one. A new "brand of physicality".

Beautiful explanation, Jesse. And it makes sense except it doesn't answer the question as to how Chaol feels he came to be. Maybe he sees he always is...no start, no end, but did he create himself so he can create his perspectives?

And it still begs the question re: a collective mind. Are we or are we not all connected? I do not see how we could not be anything else. If so, then don't we affect (or infect) one another anyway?

Nope, that's my wife (Yea, I guess it's better to have me there... I suppose). I am a white bald dude with a crazy goatee.

If I follow the logic Chaol has shown. There is no perspective beyond YOUR own. "Everything" else is a representation (a symbol) you are choosing to interact with.

If we start the chicken and the egg discussion... (What came first "Me" or "Something else"?) Then we find ourselves ending at our "earliest" memory in perspective.

Everything that "exists" does so, in this moment. What you are perceiving right NOW is all there is. You perceive it all as "separate" or "different" from "you" only to render it into "existence".

What if all you perceive yourself to know is generated here, in the now? What if everything you believe yourself to "know" is your logic constructed here in the now to explain to yourself that you could be here now?

You can always forget (render something irrelevant).

What if we've purposely forgotten how we rendered this illusion just so that we can interact with it?
