Just as a reminder:

"Chaos" is the Goddess of Interaction.

Her symbol looks like a semi-circle open to the above, meeting another semi-circle open below. There is a straight line (symbol for logic) running through the center of both. Where all lines intersect is a single point (representing Thoht or "symbol"). The symbol for "Chaos" or Interaction incorporates each of the four symbols.

From the ecsys.org website:

Interaction is the structure of potential energy.

Interaction enables logic, allowing for relationships between things.

Interaction requires degrees of transparency. The more transparent something is the more it can be interacted with.

Re: Notes from an "alternate universe". Introduction to a new way of thinking.
I gave the hand genius a trial yesterday. It wasn't automatic but it worked. At first I didn't know how to go about assigning each of the fingers with one of the elements.

So what prompted me to try this was that I inexplicably woke up with some pain in my right hand. It felt like the pain came from my middle finger (lol) and spread all around down to my wrist. I didn't do anything extraordinary the day before that would account for the pain but who knows what sleeping position I assumed or even even better, who knows what our physical bodies go through while we're asleep.

Then I tried to use my left hand as my genius and using it to heal this sudden problem with his counterpart (my dear right hand). So at first I wasn't doing anything apart from using left hand to soothe/massage right hand. This didn't do much. But I was still a bit stuck on how to implement the right hand as a genius. I tried to let go and see if it would go away quite soon. But it was still quite sore. So I went back and read what Chaol said about not knowing how it works but knowing that each of the four elements are contained in my left hand. That was the clincher for me apparently. My left hand miraculously healed my right within seconds of applying this rule.

I think baby steps is always key as Chaol says. Once I know I can do something small, that motivates me to try bigger and braver. So yeah strange hand problem resolved within minutes.

I believe the use of "infection" was more of the definition "to affect in a contagious way" rather than something exclusively harmful.

It is here: [link to www.godlikeproductions.com]

It seems as though he considers emotions to be passable from person to person. This isn't so far-fetched, as spending time around a very happy person (or unhappy) will attest.

You can spend time around a sick person and not catch the virus yourself, and you can spend time around an angry person and not become angry yourself.

However, considering we don't exactly understand what an emotion is, it is certainly possible that 'your' emotions are actually a part of your environment rather than something that happens without outside influence.

Laughter is thought to be contagious. Why not other emotions?
 Quoting: Chaol

Right. I was just trying to see the difference in emotions and logic...since we have established logic (order) is inherent in chaos.

Thanks for linking to the post. I found this gem there too:

"By "infections" I do not mean a negative or detrimental process occurring in a person's mind or body. However, we have no clear understanding of emotions (or consciousness) in this world. This, of course, does not validate my claims that emotions are infections. But the fact that there is no clear understanding of what emotions are should at least open the door to the possibility that the process of biochemical processes interacting with environmental influences is the same with the body (as a virus, in getting sick) as with the mind (emotions)."
 Quoting: U3

Do you think that an emotion can have logic behind it, even if we don't agree with the logic?

For example, John is happy because the paint on his wall has not dried yet. It need not make sense to us, but if we were in John's brain we would be able to see how it made sense - to see the map to the happiness for the wet paint.

As chaos is an order we do not (yet) understand, perhaps emotions are relationships that we may or may not understand.

But as humans I think we're quick to separate emotions from logic because we believe that only one way is logical or that if it is logical then it is without emotion and the domain of machines. That we cannot both be emotional and logical.

As I understand it, in Ecsys everything is logical. But we may not be able to see how something makes sense.

But there is so much we don't understand about our own minds.
 Quoting: Chaol

Great points! Thanks.

I am reminded that when I was younger, I used to follow only my heart in making decisions. I found that didn't work well so I switched to making decisions based on logic...... that didn't work so well, either.

It is when I finally learned to use both that things worked much better for me.
 Quoting: U3

I've noticed that often I'll feel an emotion, and my mind then scrambles to label it and find a cause and an explanation. I've been realizing that the two are not always meant to be stitched together into a story.

I don't know where the emotions come from. Maybe they come from the colonies of bacteria -- the 90% of me?

It seems to me that emotions are a very effective way to drive the cart. Even the most logical person, if hit with just the right emotional hot button, will turn his cart. Then logic will step in to rationalize the action after the fact.

The element for "potential energy" is a circle.

The element for "interaction and association" is a circle that has been cut in half, with one half open above and the other half open below.

In the element named "chaon", the symbol for logic extends through both semi-circles, connecting the above and the below.

Where all lines meet is the element named "elementon", which is the symbol for representation. It seems to be shared both above and below, through logic.

There is a load of understanding in this.

Somehow, Sekhmet is also associated with the chaon element. I see it in my mind's eye, but don't have the words for it yet.

I understood him to mean the expression of anger had to be honest.
 Quoting: U3

But how would we know what an honest expression of anger is?

There is some psychological evidence to suggest that if we do not suppress certain emotions then we do not 'explode' with them.

Some may read "don't resist anger" as license to be as angry as you want to be.

But fundamentally, it is probably about not resisting emotions from the beginning. Before they have a chance to be out of control.

This goes back to not resisting yourself. But I suppose that includes being transparent as well, and in that way being honest.
 Quoting: Chaol

I understand its meaning as looking to the source of your anger and resolving that conflict, as opposed to taking it out on unrelated aspects of your life.

Better not to let negativity fester and spread into something far larger than need be.
 Quoting: CatCarel

I can only assume that trying to resolve all conflicts would be a waste of energy. It also assumes that conflicts need to be resolved.

Perhaps conflict is natural? Are not my teeth sometimes in conflict? The birds?

I'm still thinking about this.. to be okay with everything in my perspective. To not resist what I see.

To focus more on new perspectives rather than trying to change the current ones.

(rather than trying to change it into a way that I think is better)
 Quoting: Chaol

For what it's worth, an anecdote.

My husband is a very impatient driver. Whenever we go anywhere, he is apt to fly into road rage over bad or slow drivers who get in his way. I tend to get easily "infected" by his anger. I will experience it in the pit of my stomach, first as anxiety, then as fear (as I brace myself for impact, convinced we're going to crash), then when we finally park the car, as anger. I sometimes explode and freak out on him, for driving like an idiot and putting me through all that. I have gotten better over the years with this, learning to "zen out" and not allow his emotion to infect me in the first place, but it's not always easy to do.

Yesterday we were driving to dinner. A car in front of us was driving horribly, and the hubby started in on his usual script (above). I felt myself getting infected with negative emotions/sensations. But this time, it was weird. I suddenly had this image "none of this is real, it's an illusion, a simulated reality like the matrix." So I played with that perspective.

Is it true that his driving, his anger created my own emotions? What if the emotions just existed, and my mind created a perspective to explain it all? What if my mind put me in that car? What if the reality was that I wasn't in the car at all?

All I can say is that, while I still felt all the feelings (heart racing, tension as I braced for impact, swelling anger) I wasn't sure anymore where they were coming from. They weren't coming from me but they weren't necessarily coming from husband or the scene playing out in front of me on the road. The feelings arose, and then subsided, quite quickly I might add. And then we were on to the next scene (we were parked), and the rest of the day proceeded quite pleasantly, without the two of us arguing over his driving.

Then I come here today and realize while all this was playing out in my own "real" life, you all were discussing the emotions of anger.

One other thing:

I noticed from the very beginning that the symbol for "chaon" is very similar to the astrological symbol for "Pisces".

[link to chinesehoroscop-e.com]

The two fishes:

[link to static6.depositphotos.com]

Except that the Pisces symbol is on a horizontal plane, with the semi-circles open to the right and the left. The element i/on is also horizontal, and there is a gap between the semi-circles. No elementon (or else two elementons, where the lines intersect).

It looks like an "H" in the English alphabet.

I am not saying that there is a connection between the symbol for Pisces and a chaon. It is just a tangent that I found curious.

Expanding on my last comment...

It's like Schroedinger's Cat. When the observer asks the question and opens the box, the cat is manifested alive or dead, with complete backstory: it is alive and spitting angry because it's been stuck in a box; it is dead because it was left in the box so long it starved.

Our minds are doing this all the time. We are creating entire, elaborate backstories. When I feel anger my backstory may be my husband caused it because he was having road rage and he has road rage because he has unresolved issues from his childhood and is a control freak and also that driver who cut us off was texting.

Sometimes I play around with the idea "what if time actually runs backward, not forward?" (a possibility posed by recent science). If that is the case, then my experience of anger actually came first... it was the cause, not the effect. Turns everything on its ear.

So what happens if you drop the story? When you open up that box, will you find an elephant rather than a cat?

Got that "nexus" vibe again. I wonder if I'm right.
Consider the possibility that you order yourself into being from chaos... You do this, always, in all ways. This "ordering" has resulted in the possibilities you're experiencing, here, now. In each experience you've ever had, more and more of "this" reality is generated logically from your previous experience. Your observation of this unfolding of order and chaos is reality.

Another thing I like to do is let emotions just pass through, without commentary....and just noticing them. I do this with pain, too. Let it pass through, without commentary....without deciding whether I like it or not, etc:.

Surprisingly, migraine headaches have reduced in frequency, duration and pain over the years, possibly because of this practice.

I haven't practiced this with emotions for as long as pain, so I can't really say much about it other than it seems to be freeing.

I, too, have caught myself making up a story to explain the presence of an emotion or a mixture of them. Lately, I simply tell myself a different story, which mitigates uncomfortable emotions and expands the ones that I like.

Yes, I've been practicing the "tell a different story" for awhile now. It works rather well, however, now I'm practicing "don't tell any story at all" and seeing what is there. It's been rather interesting!

And what if we are creating time (past/future, forward/backward) right now?

What if everything we perceive comes out of chaos.....all possibility?

Got that "nexus" vibe again. I wonder if I'm right.
 Quoting: MutantMessiah

Which reminds me! I think your last "nexus vibe" was around April 30. Right? Approximately ten days later, our NeoChaol posts for the first time, saying, "I've been reading for the past 10 days or so".

Coincidence?

I've no objective evidence of it but I am pretty sure today, tomorrow and the next day are a powerful Nexus. Be safe peeps!

Neo-Chaol,

The craziest part of the paradox is that existence and non-existence are impossibilities.

It's interesting to watch how our lives are overlapping one another. Maybe we are one being.
 Quoting: U3

There are other synchronicities between us all that I don't even mention, because then I would be talking my fool head off and taking over the thread. I have already found places in myself that you all are reflecting, and I've even given names to some of you that represent those other values of my self. Of course, nothing offensive! I'm not going to insult myself lol.

I wonder. If all of us were to pick an exact time and post at that very moment so that we're posting "on top of each other", as it were, if we could merge ourselves with some awareness of having done so? Like what happened to U3 and Chaol?

I mean, we are all of us the same being. I think. It would be cool to "re-absorb" each other for even a split second. Just to see what it's like.

(That we are all the same being would also explain why we are all at Tuuuuur's house.)

Let's start on one half of the existent/non-existent coin U3. Name something that does not exist (non-existent).

Awesome! I am reminded of Chaol's comment that it's all one thing. Much to ruminate on, here. Thanks!

Maybe draw what you see in your minds eye?
 Quoting: U3

While working on inventing an Ec word for what I see, as per Nahoti's suggestion, I was hit with a bucketful of visuals. I could hardly pick one out from the other. It actually turned my stomach upside down and I felt a wave of vertigo. I went to lay down and the visuals continued. Wild stuff! I'll try to make a post about what I saw, but it is kind of long and probably boring to most of you.

And, yeah, the drawings. This is one reason why I have been practicing my drawing, so that I can represent some of the things I "see". I just want my drawings to be suitable for public viewing. I am working on this!
