Trust me, the speech itself will be a flowery, encouraging, innocuous sentiment from the Prez. Obama supporters will say the controversy is much ado about nothing. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The White House had to scratch a line from the required teaching materials today; students now won’t have to determine how they can help Obama. DOE officials and the administration are hoping that this small bone will placate the critics. What they AREN’T publicizing, however, is the fact that your kids are expected to read propaganda books about Obama as a complement to the big talk.
Here is a look at 2 of them: Barack Obama: Son Of Promise, Child Of Hope and another titled simply Barack. Try to keep your lunch down.

I had heard, I don't know how true it is, but he and his entire freak show was also gonna be speaking to high school students as well. Have you heard this? If it's true it occurred to me that the juniors and seniors would be of voting age in 2012. Big girls need BIG guns.

Well.. I guess I could expand the Botany lesson to include how to build a fire with the books..haha
I went to Sidwell's School, which is the school that Obama's daughers attend. I located the required reading list for incoming 4th graders.It's pretty lengthy so I have provided a link.
A partial lists for incoming 7thand 8th graders.Major texts in the 7th grade currently include To Kill a Mockingbird, The Miracle Worker, A Raisin in the Sun,Twelve Angry Men, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as works by Edgar Allan Poe, O.Henry, Langston Hughes, and others. In eighth grade students currently read Brave New World, The Tempest, Things Fall Apart, Lord of the Flies, and The Odyssey, among other works.

My school's administration announced today that we could choose to show it or not. Thankfully, it is on at noon here and the majority of kids are eating. Really, this just puts us into a situtation as teachers. If we don't show it, we will have parents mad and accusing us of being anti-American. If we do show it, we have to notify parents and allow them to have the option of pulling the kids out of class -- and then we have to find a place to send them. If Obama wants kids to watch him so badly, he should broadcast at 7:00 p.m. when the kids are at home with the family, and they can discuss his politics all they want in the privacy of their own homes.

This is totally outrageous! How can any sane person support this kind of thing? Someone needs to put the brakes on Obama and his meglomania before this goes any farther. Does he listen to anybody? Probably not because after all it is HE who is the Messiah but somebody needs to take him aside and tell him that just maybe he isn't.
I think the American people won't stand for this, at least I won't and I will NOT let my grandchild read his propaganda books.
How far will he push the people of the US of A before we ask for his resignation. In all of my sixty-seven years I have never heard of such a thing. I have had enough already!!

I do not like Obama, I did not vote for him, I do not watch him on t.v., he has made my skin crawl for years, and yet my 3 yr. old knows who he is and gets excited when she sees his picture or sees him on television.
Creeps me out when she says, "look mommy, it's Barack Obama."
She started that when she was about 2 1/2 it's really disturbing. She's not focused on Elmo or Barney, it's Obama.

I just watched the propaganda film "I pledge." I can tell ya this...I do NOT "pledge to be a servant to my president" because the damned fool is supposed to be a servant to ME. Public servant. Elected servant. That's his freaking job. My dear lord, this shit is INSANE.

I can't think of anyone in a supposedly free and civilized country who promotes himself in this manner. It's usually reserved for dictators of third world countries. They are the only ones who think of themselves as some sort of messianic figure.
There is absolutely nothing special about Obama. I can't believe these books even exist let alone are being promoted to children in this country.
I don't think even Chavez does such totally obnoxious things!
