Hmm, you could either contribute to society and the economy or you could sap from it. As you know we already are inching towards the communism side of the political spectrum, so like communism, people want the benefits without working and that same fault can be found in our system, among other faults.

I guess it all depends on how much you value respect

It is not 'sapping' to use unemployment. If you have worked YOU have paid into it.

After 30 years of steady employment I used all my unemployment benefits.

It was a much needed year of respite from years of stressful employment.

There are millions of people that have never worked a day in their life sucking off Uncle Sam. Go ahead and find out how nice it is getting that check every week.

You should apply for unemployment, and then seriously look for a job, and not milk it.

You should apply,and then hope you will not have to use it long. You will find that you don't like living a lazy life, and you will want to get back to work.

I have a friend, who's husband died and left her well off. Now her family is going through her money. Son hasn't worked in well over a year and a half, and she bought him a house. Grand daughter isn't working, nor is her low life boyfriend, but they now have a baby, so grandma is buying them a house. They are a bunch of lazies, the boyfriend can't keep a job for over a couple of months, because he is caught sleeping on the job, of sloughing off.

My friend will soon be out of money, for trying to support son, and his daughter, who has a baby with the low life now.

Best of luck on finding another job. I know times are hard now, but there is hope.

when you goto the unemployment office, ask if they are hiring

I was laid off over a year ago.I've never been on unemployment in my life.I was ashamed to go on it,but filled out the initial claim and was approved.I didn't file for payment for 6 months,because I did independent contracting,but work was so slow I finally filed.In hind sight I should have collected it from day one.I have applied to hundreds of jobs,but get no response unless it's straight commission and people aren't buying.Most jobs I see are commission or non traditional where you have to put money up.Do it,you've paid in.
