Barack Obama will cement the new co-operative relationship between the US and the United Nations this month when he becomes the first American president to chair its 15-member Security Council.
The topic for the summit-level session of the council on September 24 is nuclear non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament – one of several global challenges that the US now wants to see addressed at a multinational level.
“The council has a very important role to play in preventing the spread and use of nuclear weapons, and it’s the world’s principal body for dealing with global security cooperation,” Susan Rice, US envoy to the UN, said last week.
Her remarks were the latest by the Obama administration to emphasise a shift from the strategy of the previous Bush administration, sometimes criticised by its UN partners for seeking to use the world body principally to endorse its own unilateral policies. The US currently holds the month-long rotating presidency of the Security Council.
Mr Obama will join other heads of government in New York during the week of the nuclear summit for the opening of the 64th session of the UN General Assembly. The annual meeting of world leaders is this year raising expectations on a number of fronts.
UN officials hope a climate change debate on September 22 will give fresh impetus to the search for a global climate deal at Copenhagen in December. There are also hopes a possible meeting between Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli prime minister, and Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian Authority president, that Mr Obama would host, could lead to a breakthrough about a timetable for Middle East peace.
Heads of state are also likely to consider how to deal with Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Mr Obama gave Tehran a September deadline to reply to his offer of negotiations. Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadi-nejad will attend the General Assembly “to encourage Iranian views in managing the world,” an aide said.
US officials are concerned Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi might try to steal the limelight during his first visit to New York. A public outcry at the Libyan leader’s visit after he last month welcomed home Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi, the freed Lockerbie bomber, has already stymied his plans to pitch his tent in Central Park.
“How President Gaddafi chooses to comport himself, when he attends the General Assembly and the Security Council in New York, has the potential either to further aggravate those feelings and emotions or not,” Ms Rice said.
The State Department has not ruled out the possibility that Mr Obama and Colonel Gaddafi would cross paths. They are both due to address the General Assembly on the same day, and the Libyan leader, whose country is a temporary member of the Security Council, is entitled to attend the nuclear summit session that Mr Obama will chair.


In a radical report, the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has said the system of currencies and capital rules which binds the world economy is not working properly, and was largely responsible for the financial and economic crises.
It added that the present system, under which the dollar acts as the world's reserve currency , should be subject to a wholesale reconsideration.

Although a number of countries, including China and Russia, have suggested replacing the dollar as the world's reserve currency, the UNCTAD report is the first time a major multinational institution has posited such a suggestion.
In essence, the report calls for a new Bretton Woods-style system of managed international exchange rates, meaning central banks would be forced to intervene and either support or push down their currencies depending on how the rest of the world economy is behaving.
The proposals would also imply that surplus nations such as China and Germany should stimulate their economies further in order to cut their own imbalances, rather than, as in the present system, deficit nations such as the UK and US having to take the main burden of readjustment.
"Replacing the dollar with an (ARTIFICIAL CURRENCY)would solve some of the problems related to the potential of countries running large deficits and would help stability," said Detlef Kotte, one of the report's authors. "But you will also need a system of managed exchange rates. Countries should keep real exchange rates [adjusted for inflation] stable. Central banks would have to intervene and if not they would have to be told to do so by a multilateral institution such as the International Monetary Fund."
The proposals, included in UNCTAD's annual Trade and Development Report , amount to the most radical suggestions for redesigning the global monetary system.
Although many economists have pointed out that the economic crisis owed more to the malfunctioning of the post-Bretton Woods system, until now no major institution, including the G20 , has come up with an alternative.

Hi there, I just wanted to give you my insight, at least to supplement the things that you have said in this posting of yours. I have felt like I have been having a spiritual-transformation recently, and learning so many things that put all of the pieces together. I understand that most people want to believe that an American leader will be the Beast Of Revelation, or will be the Anti-Christ.

First, the term Anti-Christ is only used a few times throughout the whole entire Bible, and it is referred to in a general or plurality sense, whereby if you come to know the knowledge of the real truths of God, but yet you then turn around and choose to reject those truths and those ways, then you become anti-Christ. There is never a mention of a singular Anti-Christ figure that arises during the final Great Tribulation. There is a section in Daniel 9:26-27, which says:

23 At the beginning of your supplications the command
went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are
greatly beloved; therefore consider the matter, and
understand the vision:

24 “ Seventy weeks[a] are determined
For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression,
To make an end of sins,
To make reconciliation for iniquity,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy,
And to anoint the Most Holy.
25 “ Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
To restore and build Jerusalem
Until Messiah the Prince,
There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
The street[c] shall be built again, and the wall,[d]
Even in troublesome times.
26 “ And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are
determined.
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one
week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an
end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes
desolate, Even until the consummation, which is
determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”

This is where everybody is getting the idea of a singular Anti-Christ figure that comes onto the world-scene for 7 years, signing some peace-treaty with Israel for 7 years and breaking that treaty after 3.5 years. Also, people are using the Beast and other entities from the book of Revelation to further solidify proof of the Anti-Christ. One thing people don't seem to mention is what about the other 69 weeks before that final 70th week ? If the 7 weeks amounts to 7 years, then what about the previous 69 years prior to what will be the Great Tribulation ?

Daniels vision of 70 sets of 7 weeks must be referring to his time, simply because the one line states that a command had gone out since he began his prayer (supplication), and then it goes on to say that from the time that the command was given to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince would be 7 weeks and then 62 weeks. So, if that command had already gone out by the time Daniel was doing his praying, then this vision has to do with Daniel's time, and not the near-coming end of this age just before the return of Jesus Christ. I was actually doing some researching while I'm writing this, and it turns out that it was precisely 70 years from the time the 1st Temple was destroyed with the seige by the Babylonians until the time that the 2nd Temple was finished being constructed (586 BC - 516). The angel Gabriel was explaining Daniel's vision to him and said that there would be 70 sets of 7s from the time the command went out until Jerusalem would be restored and rebuilt, and Gabriel said that the command was made while Daniel was supplicating, so these verses cannot be speaking of a time that was in the very very distant future. People also use lines from Matthew and Revelation to prove that a rapture will be occuring before the Tribulation begins. Matthew says that the coming of man will come as a thief in the night to the people that are not alert and watching, so 2 will be in a field and one taken and the other left. This is not meant literally taken supernaturally and vanishing into thin-air, but this is describing that your life can be taken if you are not alert and watching what is happening, especially what happens in God's Church (there is only one Church-Body that God works through in His Body Of Christ). In Revelation, in John's letter to the Church in Philadelphia, he writes that he will keep his obedient people from the hour of trial. This COULD seem like God would be supernaturally rapturing-away his true believers so that they won't have to experience the Great Tribulation, but we know how many things in the Bible are written spiritually and not physically. Why do we think that the Church Of Philadelphia thing is one of the few literal things in the book of Revelation ? Why can we just pick-and-choose which verses should be interpreted literally or not ? Even the Mark Of The Beast is not a physical mark (although the evil entity that takes control of us will USE the physical mark to be able to know whom worships the image or not), but the Mark Of The Beast is really just the opposite of the Mark Of God, which has everything to do with God's Covenant.

Is there not any other nation on Earth that sits on 7 mountains ? The city of Rome is known as the City Of Seven Hills. While the Pope is not the Beast, the Pope is the False Prophet of Revelation, and the Beast will be newly-revived Holy Roman Empire (Union of 10 European Nations). It even describesin other places of the Bible what the Beast is, because Daniel had the vision of the same Beast as the Beast in Revelation, and his vision of the Beast was explained to him later-on. Even in the book of Revelation, one of the angels showed John the meaning of the woman riding the Beast. The woman represents the great church that "rides the Beast", meaning has power over the Beast of the United States Of Europe. The Great Harlot is most assuredly the Roman Catholic Church, whom became drunk with the blood of the Saints because the Catholic Church had killed so many millions of peoples over the thousands of years, they killed the Saints, made them martyrs. It says right in Revelation that the woman that John saw in his vision was a Church, and that the 10 horns of the Beast represented 10 kingdoms (or 10 nations). People seem to ignore the parts where the angels or other prophets actually tell us what some of their visions were meaning. Many people that accept everything that they see and hear from somebody else hasn't even read the book of Revelation, or even other parts of the Bible, they are just basing what they believe from what most others are saying that they believe in. There could be a dual-meaning with some of these Scriptures, but we cannot just say that we know 100% for sure that these things are what we think they are. Whom knows, maybe I am wrong about these things, although alot of it is because the visions were actually explained in other places of the Bible, and even sometimes in Revelation itself. The 7 Kings represent the 7 revivals of the Holy Roman Empire, and it talks about the one going into perdition ? Whom else could this be except Satan ? This is why it says in Revelation 17:11 that, "And the beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition." This is speaking of Satan because he is the 8th entity that was the power behind ALL of the other 7 entities, the other revivals of the Holy Roman Empire. It was saying that what John was witnessing in the Spirit was when the Holy Roman Empire was not currently in power, but was before, and is of the seven because he had power and influence over those seven. Satan is the Son Of Perdition, so it seems very fitting that this verse even said that he was going into perdition.

What are your thoughts on these things though ? Do you feel that some of these things that I say could very well be possible ? Satan is behind many of the ideas such as a singular Anti-Christ figure that will rule the whole entire world (he perpetrated this notion so that when no Anti-Christ comes but Jesus Christ comes, people will believe that Jesus Christ is the Anti-Christ if he is the first to come. Satan and his minions of demons even made sure that the year 2012 would be a very major year of change, because they know God's plan and they have a certain concept of time of how long 6,000 years really is, and they put it at December 2012 because they wanted it to be near Satan's Day of Christmas, and according to God's Church, Christ is returning in the Spring of 2012, so Satan wants us to be as off-guard as possible so we aren't ready for what is coming. Satan even used his day of Christmas (which obviously is pagan) for mocking God, "He knows when you are sleeping, He knows when you're awake, He knows when you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake." Or, "You better not shout, you better not cry, you better not shout I'm telling you why, Santa Clause is coming to town." This is Satan mocking God and his plan. I mean even the name Santa is just one letter-switching off from becoming the name Satan. There has been a spiritual war going on between the angels that have remained faithful to God's plan and Satan and his minions of fallen-angels which are called demons. Satan has been influencing many many human-beings to do certain things that they normally wouldn't have thought of to do, like writing these Christmas Carols to be mocking God, even though the writers did not even know what the words truly were supposed to be meaning.

But anyhow, what do you really truly think about some of the things that I have said here, anything insightfull ?

P.S. I can tell you the exact date that Jesus Christ will be returning, and it doesn't even contradict the verse of "No man knows the day or the hour."

Now what if everyone is wrong about all this stuff about obama? What if the antichrist hasn't even come yet and have another 100 years to fret over?
You could be concerned over nothing... Remember JESUS said that no one knows the hour nor the that the father will come only the Father GOD almighty knows! Let's just try to live the life GOD gave us and smile when we get taken up by HIS glory! Because you do have to realize that the world won't end when the rapture happens it will go on for a little longer after we are taken home
