Quoting: Anonymous Coward 765752Other more powerful telescopes are coming on line that can replace Hubble when it reaches the end of its lifespan. Thats why there was such an outcry to fix the Hubble one last time... so it can continue to do science until these new telescopes are available. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 767503Telescopes don't feed "starving children", parents feed "starving children". Also, if the "wonderful" u.n. would get off their collective butts, then maybe, this issue wouldn't be so hard to solve. So, maybe you need to deal with the u.n., and question them, not the astronomers. |

I dont understand why. This is common sense, you have this huge space telescope, take some closeups of neighboring solar systems, who gives a shit about distant nebulas and other galaxies. I want them to find planet krypton |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 767441 United States 09/10/2009 09:45 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | "All That Is creates its reality as it goes along. Each world has its own impetus, yet all are ultimately connected. The true dimensions of a divine creativity would be unendurable for any one consciousness of whatever import, and so that splendor is infinitely dimensionalized (most intensely throughout), worlds spiraling outward with each ‘moment' of a cosmic breath; with the separation of worlds a necessity; and with individual and mass comprehension always growing at such a rate that All That Is multiplies itself at microseconds, building both pasts and futures and other time scales you do not recognize. Each is a reality in itself, with its own potentials, and with no individual consciousness, however minute, ever lost. Seth |

I could not belp but add it here. Seems so appropriate. Glad you enjoyed. I love how he says, and I paraphrase, the space is a perception of events, how our senses interpret them, or something like that. It is all heavy but the beauty of it rings true, as these wonderful images. |

This is common sense, you have this huge space telescope, take some closeups of neighboring solar systems, who gives a shit about distant nebulas and other galaxies. I want them to find planet krypton It all has to do with angular resolution. Most deep space objects are HUGE and subtend angles of several arc-minutes or more...easily imaged. Whereas even planets within our own solar system are very small...only a few arc-seconds in diameter. It's even very difficult to image the disks of other stars, much less any planets around them. |
