I have been in touch with the funeral home in Gooderboy's town and spoke to a very nice woman who has agreed to give his family a short eulogy which I guess I'm going to have to prepare, unless someone else wants to have input. Whether the family will see fit will use it I don't know... but it's the thought that counts.
To those who wish to contribute ... you have until 3:00 p.m. to get your thoughts together and put them on this thread, I've got to email this today.

I didn't know him personally, but his comments were always funny or profound, and frequently both. We'll miss him, but I believe he's looking down on us from a gooder place.
Political tags--such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and. so forth--are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire. The former are idealists acting from highest motives for the greatest good of the greatest number. The latter are surly curmudgeons, suspicious and lacking in altruism. Canuck, you are sweet to get something together for Dennis's funeral. I have a memory of something he said, which is probably not at all suitable for the memorial :-)
but here it is:
One thing he said that stuck with me was when someone was complaining about their crazy family, and he said he didn't understand people putting up with stuff from family, he said one year he invited his family for Thanksgiving, and they were fighting and misbehaving, and he showed them all the door and enjoyed his turkey dinner in peace all by himself, I thought that was great! It was such a simple solution to him - good for Gooderboy! :-)
Nope that won't do for a speech at the service lol but isn't it great? He wasn't going to put up with bullshit but he wasn't going to make a big deal out of it and get sucked into the drama either. I really respect him for that! A lot of people could learn from his example!

Been reading GLP for a couple of years have not posted much.
You are a great family. I feel the love and caring for one of your own. It's just me, horses,dogs are my family.
There is so much hate and pain in this world.
