Speechless...

Virgin Media are now charging customers for the paper invoice as an extra.....

This is no joke, they will be charging us for our skin coverage and every ounce of blood next...

Woe to you VIRGIN MEDIA....

Enough is enough....

Good. Email invoices are much better for the environment.

This is no different to Marks and Spencer charging for plastic carrier bags.

What about the people that don't have internet?

Many OAP's do not have computer's or internet.

If people don't pay on direct debit they also charge an extra £15 a month and that is 50% of the cost of service.

Most OAP's can't afford their internet service even if they had a computer.

Corps are using "environmental" reasons to drain more blood from customers.

Expect it to get worse. Much worse.

Why would Virgin Media send a bill to someone without the internet? Isn't that the service they provide?

Yes and the internet will be used to do it.

Virgin phoned up the other day for a customer survey you can imagine the response they got and that was before this invoice confirming the direct debit. I didn't ask them to send the invoice they could have sent it by email but they didn't choose to do that. They chose to send a paper one and charge for the service etc.

I told them it won't be long before many will tell them what to do with their internet service fees. We don't require a television and the day is coming when we won't require the internet either.

This is the era of essentials and the internet is not an essential when people have to put a roof over their heads and food on the table.

BT does the same, if you want to be paper-billed.

It's common practice, now.

The phone bill and internet comes on the same bill. So if an OAP only has a telephone they still get a paper bill.

The number of Virgin Media Customers who only have a telephone account and happen to be OAPs will be tiny.

If you check the Virgin website, it actually states a discount of £1 a month is available to those signing up to paperless billing.

The beneficial impact on the environment far outweighs a few disgruntled pensioners.

Well if that is the case then they can give it to the OAP's for free.

So, the world's gonna expire because a few "disgruntled" pensioners receive a paper statement?

Pleeeeze! That's ridiculous, if not downright insane. More toilet paper gets wasted in Buckingham Palace each day than those statements require.

Of course; they will also be saving on postage costs and this should be reflected in lower prices. However, like the energy companies the resource is coming down in price while prices are still going up.

Scuse the pun 'it does not compute".

You've clearly accepted the lie of carbon dioxide warming the planet.

Before you call bullshit on me, be honest and find an old textbook of botany. In it, you'll discover that normal background co2 levels are around 350 parts per million.

For around $400 you can buy a state of the art co2 meter. If you take a reading you'll discover that 350ppm still holds true. For an honest test, hold it away from your breath and from any car exhaust.

So, before you buy the co2/global warming myth, it might be well if you personally investigated the concept. I did, and the last reading I got on a co2 meter was only 340 ppm, 10 ppm less than old botany books say is standard.

The "carbon footprint" is a lie perpetrated to steal and enslave, nothing more.

If you can't argue rationally, retreat to emotions. That's the tactic behind the social engineering that is enslaving you, friend.

It definitely costs Virgin Media less to email a notice than to bother posting one. Hiding that certainty behind the pseudo-religious facade of "saving the earth" is inherently dishonest, and sets the stage for more widespread ripoffs by govt and corporations in general.
