As Many A Two Million 9/12 Project and Tea Party Protesters In D.C. But The Obama/State Controlled Media Says "Tens Of Thousands"

You know, journalism died a long time ago, so I guess this shouldn’t even surprise anyone that the liberal state controlled media, who are basically stenographers for the Obama administration, would under report this event by oh, almost two million!

What grew out of a simple love for our nation, and inspiration from Fox News’ Glenn Beck, has turned into a serious movement that has been gaining steam since the concept was first announced by Glenn on his Fox News show in March of this year.

As Beck put it, he remembered how united America was on September 12, 2001, the day after the worst attacks on American soil. How we put aside all of our differences and came together as one nation, with one purpose.

Sadly, that feeling is gone. Battle lines have been drawn, and America has become more divided than at anytime any of us have ever seen. Of course, what has once divided us, thanks to the communist ideals of Barack Obama and the democrat/communist party, is now bringing us back together. I guess you could say Barack Obama is the "Great Uniter" just not in the way he had hoped!

With the feeling of those first days after 9/11, Glenn launched the 9/12 Project, along with a set of common sense principles that we need to follow for the nation to survive. Saturday was the culmination of that idea, and those ideals. And by any account, the 9/12 rallies were a rousing success. Not only were there as many as two million in D.C., but numerous cities in every state also held 9/12 and Tea Party protests.

Of course, since this makes Obama look just as bad as he truly is, the media is working overtime to cover the truth up. The state controlled media worked overtime to elect Obama, and sold their credibility forevermore down the road to get their man in office. They went all in on Obama, the worst bet in history.

Now full disclosure, I was not in D.C. but having looked at the various reports, tweets from rally goers, and photos, it is definitely my opinion that while the two million number may be a tad high, it’s certainly not a wild guess.

I also base this on a lifetime of attending large events as a drag racer, and enthusiast. I’ve been to many events with one day crowds in the tens of thousands, the size the Obama media is reporting, including a track attendance record setting event at Houston Raceway Park a few years back, when over 53,000 poured into a track with seating for 40,000. That was nothing compared to D.C. crowds.

Same goes for Texas Motor Speedway, in Ft Worth, Texas. The track seats roughly 200,000 people. That’s a lot of folks, but not as large as the D.C. Crowds. Take a look at this photo taken by Mary Katharine Ham:

Actually the first hint of a huge crowd didn’t come from the protesters, or the media, but from a memo written by a panic stricken top House democrat/communist aide to other aides, as well as liberal/communist activists, as reported by Gary Sargent on his Plum Line blog:

A top House Dem leadership aide has emailed a memo to Dem aides on the Hill and outside liberal groups warning they should brace for a turnout of up to two million people, suggesting Dems worry that if enough conservatives descend on the Mall it will amount to a major PR victory for the right.

The aide, Doug Thornell, warned in the memo that the dust-up over Joe Wilson has been invigorating conservatives. "It looks like Saturday’s event is going to be a huge gathering, estimates ranging from hundreds of thousands to 2 million people," Thornell wrote in the memo, which was forwarded by a source.

In another sign of concern, the memo painstakingly detailed a range of turnout predictions from the event’s organizers, such as this one from tea party leaders promising a crowd of up to 1,000,000.

Adding to Dem concern is the fact that Beck recently claimed a major victory in the ouster of former green jobs adviser Van Jones.

The House leadership memo predicting huge turnout could have been written in hopes that it would leak and inflate expectations for turnout, anticipating that it will fall far short. But Dems on the Hill insist they’re genuinely worried about what tomorrow will bring.

Early in the day Michelle Malkin reported ABC News was saying 2 million, which ABC later backtracked from and came out with the totally laughable 60-70.000.

Michelle also reported that the park police estimated the crowd at 1.2 million. Which I believe is what the protest coordinators had permitted space for.

You can see video as well as more photos and the schematic that was used to estimate the crowd at Barack Obama’s inauguration by visiting Michelle Malkin.com.

You check it out, you decide!

The UK Daily Mail, not exactly a conservative newspaper, also reports that up to two million protesters were in D.C.

This video is time lapse from 8:00 am until 11:30 am and shows the crowds gathering:

Again, you decide.

None of this, of course, takes into account all of the Americans who couldn’t come to D.C. but attended other events all across the nation.

Video of protesters at the start of the event:

"I came here because I thought you might want to hear a black man speak 15 minutes without a teleprompter" _____Mason Weaver

Video of Mason Weaver speaking without a teleprompter!

Of course, there were lighthearted moments too, such as when a CNN reporter, doing a stand up for the in studio host, who was attempting to do a hit piece on Congressman Joe Wilson, got shouted down! First you’ll hear the crowd chanting "tell the truth, tell the truth" then they go into a refrain of "Glenn Beck! Glenn Beck!" Sharp eyes will notice a large photo of Sarah Palin being held up behind the report’s head!

When asked how they felt about Joe Wilson, the crowd goes wild! Oh, in case you were wondering, Joe Wilson has raised over $1 million is 48 hours!

Let that be a lesson to other conservative politicians. If you stand up for what is right, we’ll pay you!

In case you forgot, CNN reporters are not exactly welcome at conservative events.

Hmmm...I wonder why?

"Ask Santa Anna how it went the LAST TIME a President tried to take away Texan’s rights!"

Sign spotted at 9/12 protest in Ft Worth, Texas

No matter the final number count, it’s easy to see that the first annual 9/12 celebration was a complete success. The movement that Glenn Beck created all those months ago has started to unite patriotic Americans nationwide. People from every walk of life, every race, sex, and religious creed have learned they are not alone. They have learned their voices count.

People who have never been involved in politics in their life are excited and hopeful. Hopeful that we take control of our nation. Take the power away from corrupt, power mad politicians, and give it back to the people, as our founders intended.

To view a large collection of photos from the D.C. protest please click here.

Here's a couple that I liked:

Here are some more crowd shots:

So where was Barack Obama during all of the festivities? Well, as they say, if you can’t stand the heat.........

Actually, Obama is still trying to shove his communist Obamacare fiasco down America’s throat. Already the most overexposed President in our nation’s history, Obama took to the road yet again!

I got a hint for you Mr. President, you won the election. The time for the cheesy campaigning and ACORN style "community organizing" is over! How about you stay in the White House and do your job!

Obama chose to cut and run away from the D.C. protests to hold another Amway sales meeting, this time in Minneapolis!

A small crowd of around 15,000 showed up to hear the Community Organizer-In-Chief chant "fired up!" Ah, those were the days, eh Mr President? Back when things were carefree and easy.

This being President is hard and junk, huh?

Just as indignant towards the American people as he was during his joint address to Congress, Obama bellowed: "I will not accept the status quo. Not this time. Not now,"

What our President fails to grasp is the fact that all of us would love a little health care reform, but want nothing to do with anything that even resembles this insane boondoggle he is trying to force feed the American people!

Mr President, give us some tort reform, make insurance policies portable, deregulate so people can buy insurance nationwide instead of only within their state, and then get out of the way!

One could write a great health care reform bill in ten pages or less! It is beyond ridiculous that we have a health care monstrosity, that really does little for health care, or reform, and takes 1017 pages to do it!

Mr President, maybe you should listen to the advice of Sgt Joe Friday and Officer Bill Gannon:

Up to two million people marched to the U.S. Capitol today, carrying signs with slogans such as "Obamacare makes me sick" as they protested the president's health care plan and what they say is out-of-control spending.

The line of protesters spread across Pennsylvania Avenue for blocks, all the way to the capitol, according to the Washington Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency.

People were chanting "enough, enough" and "We the People." Others yelled "You lie, you lie!" and "Pelosi has to go," referring to California congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.

Demonstrators waved U.S. flags and held signs reading "Go Green Recycle Congress" and "I'm Not Your ATM." Men wore colonial costumes as they listened to speakers who warned of "judgment day" - Election Day 2010.

Richard Brigle, 57, a Vietnam War veteran and former Teamster, came from Michigan. He said health care needs to be reformed - but not according to President Barack Obama's plan.

"My grandkids are going to be paying for this. It's going to cost too much money that we don't have," he said while marching, bracing himself with a wooden cane as he walked.

FreedomWorks Foundation, a conservative organization led by former House of Representatives Majority Leader Dick Armey, organized several groups from across the country for what they billed as a "March on Washington."

Organizers say they built on momentum from the April "tea party" demonstrations held nationwide to protest tax policies, along with growing resentment over the economic stimulus packages and bank bailouts.

Many protesters said they paid their own way to the event - an ethic they believe should be applied to the government.

They say unchecked spending on things like a government-run health insurance option could increase inflation and lead to economic ruin.

Terri Hall, 45, of Florida, said she felt compelled to become political for the first time this year because she was upset by government spending.

"Our government has lost sight of the powers they were granted," she said. She added that the deficit spending was out of control, and said she thought it was putting the country at risk.

Anna Hayes, 58, a nurse from Fairfax County, stood on the Mall in 1981 for Reagan's inauguration. "The same people were celebrating freedom," she said. "The president was fighting for the people then. I remember those years very well and fondly."

Saying she was worried about "Obamacare," Hayes explained: "This is the first rally I've been to that demonstrates against something, the first in my life. I just couldn't stay home anymore."

Like countless others at the rally, Joan Wright, 78, of Ocean Pines, Md., sounded angry. "I'm not taking this crap anymore," said Wright, who came by bus to Washington with 150 like-minded residents of Maryland's Eastern Shore. "I don't like the health-care [plan]. I don't like the czars. And I don't like the elitists telling us what we should do or eat."

Republican lawmakers also supported the rally.

"Republicans, Democrats and independents are stepping up and demanding we put our fiscal house in order," Rep. Mike Pence, chairman of the House Republican Conference, said.

"I think the overriding message after years of borrowing, spending and bailouts is enough is enough."

Other sponsors of the rally include the Heartland Institute, Americans for Tax Reform and the Ayn Rand Center for Individuals Rights.

Recent polls illustrate how difficult recent weeks have been for a president who, besides tackling health care, has been battling to end a devastatingly deep recession.

Fifty percent approve and 49 percent disapprove of the overall job he is doing as president, compared to July, when those approving his performance clearly outnumbered those who were unhappy with it, 55 percent to 42 percent.

Just 42 percent approve of the president's work on the high-profile health issue.

The poll was taken over five days just before Obama's speech to Congress. That speech reflected Obama's determination to push ahead despite growing obstacles.

"I will not waste time with those who have made the calculation that it's better politics to kill this plan than to improve it," Obama said on Wednesday night. "I won't stand by while the special interests use the same old tactics to keep things exactly the way they are.

"If you misrepresent what's in the plan, we'll call you out. And I will not accept the status quo as a solution."

Prior to Obama's speech before Congress U.S. Capitol Police arrested a man they say tried to get into a secure area near the Capitol with a gun in his car as President Barack Obama was speaking.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Kimberly Schneider said Thursday that 28-year-old Joshua Bowman of suburban Falls Church, Virginia, was arrested around 8 p.m. Wednesday when Obama was due to speak.

Bowman's intentions were unclear, police said.

Today's protests imitated the original Boston Tea Party of 1773, when colonists threw three shiploads of taxed tea into Boston Harbour in protest against the British government under the slogan 'No taxation without representation'.

The group first began rising to prominence in April, when the governor of Texas threatened to secede from the union in protest against government spending. Waves of tea party protests have crossed America since.

Today's rally, the largest grouping of fiscal conservatives to march on Washington, comes on the heels of heated town halls held during the congressional August recess when some Democratic lawmakers were confronted, disrupted and shouted down by angry protestors who oppose President Obama's plan to overhaul the health care system.

As many as 2 million protesters attend 9/12 Washington, D.C. Tea Party Rally

[link to i32.tinypic.com]

[link to i32.tinypic.com]

Saturday's "Tea Party" rally in Washington, D.C. far exceeded almost all expectations. Local police agencies estimated around 1.2 million people attended the rally, but several news outlets, including ABC and Fox News, said the crowd was nearly double that, with an estimated 2 million people in attendance.

Several different groups combined to organize the rally, including Glenn beck and his 9/12 project and former Congressman Dick Army and the FreedonWorks Foundation, but most of those in attendance came on their own and said they had never taken part in any type of protest before Saturday.

On Friday the White House claimed they had no idea the rally was even planned. A ridiculous assertion that shows how dismissive the Obama administration and the Democrat-led Congress are of those who oppose their agenda. It is impossible to believe that President Obama knew nothing of the event. The denial is a perfect example of why the President is losing the trust of many Americans. He stretches his credibility to its limits, and beyond.

In any case, I'll bet Obama and Democrat Party leaders are aware of it now. What difference it will make remains to be seen. In recent weeks the tea party protesters have been called everything from tea-baggers to Nazis by the left. What will be the consequences of continuing to attack and dismiss a growing movement that seems to be gaining considerable steam and refuses to be silenced?

It will be interesting to see how the President and Congressional leaders respond to the stunning turnout for Saturday's rally. It is highly possible that President Obama won't make any public comment, and likely won't be asked to do so by the mainstream media.

It's hard to imagine that Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats on the Hill will be able to ignore it, or to hold their tongues. I expect their defiant tone will continue, but it could be at their own peril. While Pelosi, whose Congressional district includes ultra-liberal San Francisco, has no fear of losing her seat in the 2010 election, many other Democrats are definitely in danger. If they doubted that before, Saturday's rally should have grabbed their attention.

Rally-goers said they are not strictly anti-Obama, or anti-Democrat, but instead are fed up with big government, corruption, high taxes, and runaway spending. They said they have had enough of politicians who don't listen to their concerns and are more afraid of special interests than they are of the voters. Many in the crowd said they were Democrats or independents. The protestors were clearly from across the political spectrum, young and old, black and white, male and female. It will be hard to dismiss them as being only angry Republicans.

Those taking part in the "Tea Party" movement will more than likely be extremely encouraged by Saturday's numbers, and it's easy to believe that it will only grow stronger as the 2010 mid-term elections draw closer. Can you envision the effect a crowd of this size, or even bigger, showing up in D.C. next September would have on the campaigns of incumbent Democrats seeking to remain in office? I'm pretty sure we'll find out.

I live here DC is only 10 square miles so if 1 million people showed up it would be on all the local media talking about road blocks and security zone and metro is doig and none of this happened.

Be happy that anyone showed up and know that inflating your number only makes you look like a fool. Look I drove by the cpatiol at 540pm and there was almost no one around.

Again here is 1 million people

This is a total lie. BTW . Local Police means MPD and they never did give estimate only the National Park service would have those number and again they dont give estimates --Offical crowd estimate where stopped years ago.

Here is 1 million people show me half this and you can talk

:1millionma:

are you also going to say the daily mail article is a lie too?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 769950

Anyone that claims to have an official number is lying plain and simple since the National Park Service was the only agency that ever did and now they dont.

You show me one picture that looks close to this

:1millionma:

BTW I have had a permit issued to hold a 1st Amendment Rally, search this site so I know what, who and how this is suppose to go down.

And, I did said the fact that so many came should be applauded. On the other hand lying about the size only make you look like a simpleton.

The permits for buses can be checked.
Metro Ridership can be checked
Hotel rooms can be checked
Number of off duty personally needed can be checked.
There are some other things that have to happen when the crowd gets big that have to do with IC and none of them happen.

I did not even get an alert from metro that delays were associated with this which means it was a day as usual and in a city the size of DC one would notice 1 million people.

Yet what do I know I only live here and drove past the capital. You go believe what you want.

Again 1 million people

The Canadian TV channel CTV newsnet actually spun the rally in a positive light even interviewing black people.

So I don't think a socialist country like Canada would put a positive spin on an anti-socialist rally!
