The story of Noah relates to the biblical area (middle east). It is possible there was more than one "ark" on different continents of the world. The story is real, it is to warn those who ignore the warnings this is what would happen to you if you ignored them (being left off of the ark).

Imagine having children and seeing them live the opposite to what you had hoped for them, destroying their lives through disobedience and rebellion.

Not so, look closely at the scripture, Gen.6:9, ..."Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations..." He was the only family of pure human DNA left on Earth. It is what qualified Him to be saved.

Also, Noah preached for 120 years warning the inhabitants that God was going to destroy the Earth with a flood, and for 120 years, the Nephilim did nothing but laugh at Noah.
