Note that the SLOTH has a straight hair line on the top. That's due to submersion (when the water line was higher) and there are no injuries on the body of the dead SLOTH to show where the supposed stones hit it. Death by stoning is quite noticeable. |

That the film The Cave might well feature a situation that is completely plausible - that organisms humanoid or mammalian escaped into caves and have since developed and grown accustomed to such environs and then all of a sudden this thing emerges.
