Strange Light Formation that Morphed in the Sky Tonight | |

It was around 7:45 pm eastern time. I was about 15 minutes south of Ottawa, Ontario Canada. My husband and I were driving south on hwy 416 when I noticed it to the south south west. It looked like a bright light shinning straight down through fog, the light disappeared and then the foggy haze slowly disappeared. The light and fog came down in a V shape. |

It looked as if there was a whole in the sky that let light shine through. It was the brightest light ever in the night sky and it was completely stationary. All of a sudden it looked as if the light was dissipating slowly into nothing. There were no clouds in the sky, but the light looked as if it was shining through this thin layer of clouds, almost looking like the very lightest fog. We could tell with certainty that this was not a star, a meteor, an airplane or helicopter. We were completely dumbfounded. We live in Northern Virginia in the D.C. metropolitan area. |

No rocket takes a half hour or more to leave earths orbit and can be seen across a wide swath of the US and even Canada. I don't know what it was but it seems clear that which it was not. |

I went out to move my car and I glanced up at the sky and there was a very strange light formation. He thought it was very strange as well. I have zero knowledge of UFOs .. does anyone know what this could have possibly been .. or does it sound like anything you have seen or heard of? It disappeared just as others discribed, in a mist like cloud. It's being said that it was the exhaust from some kind of experimental rocket launched by NASA to study clouds but how is it possible for the exhaust of a rocket to be seen up and down the entire east coast? I live just outside the northern border of Baltimore City in the Parkville/Carney area. The light I saw was bright, and there was an actual beam of light perfectly coned shaped as if being shined by a flashlight.I'm not claiming to have seen a UFO I don't know what I saw. I would like to know exactly how this rocket produced a perfectly cone shaped light bright enough to be seen over hundreds of miles. |

It looks like those flood tower lights that casinos use, but they do some patterns I don't think those machines are setup to do. It is a very wide pattern and only appears to be visible when it hits a cloud. I didn't see what emost are talking about tonight, but i have seen this rotating light that moves counter & clock wise and straight lines. I've only seen it in the clouds which are UFO cloudships. I've caught a couple of UFO blinkies at the same time. I have a couple of video links, but patience please. It's hard to see this light at first. I'm on the far outskirts, and there aren't ground spotlight things around. One of these large flat oval cloudships a couple of miles long was parked a few hundred feet above roof line one night, and had a hole in it's center right above me. Then the interior spotlight thing started right there. It was a year later before I could get video that showed it at all. Watch this winter. It seems mostly a cold weather front thing. I've seen it the night before a front comes in, and after a front blows through. It looks like the small craft are being called in, grouping, while the light runs. | patimelt User ID: 775251 United States09/20/2009 02:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i live in northeast PA. we were out at a pumpkin farm near clarks summit tonight (sat night) around 8pm when we saw the same thing. it looked like a triangular light projection high up in the sky. there was absolutely no sound and it did not appear to be moving. i tried to catch a picture of it, but by the time i got my camera out the light simply faded away into a misty cloud, yet there was not a cloud in the sky. i called our local news hotline to see if there are other reports and they claimed to have contacted the local airport who stated they have no report of anything unusual in the sky. |

There was a very large and very bright white light out about 10 miles we think. The size was about the same size as your extended hand, so we aren't talking saucer shaped or small points of light. There were no beams up so it wasn't a search light. The light came down from the sky outward and it seriously looked like heaven had opened up. It was fully dark at that point. No clouds really. The glow then dissipated and as it did, it faded away. The event took about 30 seconds and we didn't see it again. This is Sept 20, 2009. |

We were just coming in from fishing at Ball pond in New Fairfield and I looked up and saw a very bright start that morphed in somthing like a star with a helecopter's searchlight. Then it kept morhing downward and started almost avaporating into a "puff" like you said. Two of my friends and I saw it. Crazy stuff. |

Looked up and saw cone shaped white light. Looked like a spot light. Then it disappeared upward into sky, leaving a faint cloud of smoke which eventually disappeared. Night was clear. I live on the south shore of long island.. I thought it was a police helicopter hovering and shining the light down. I was djing a block party and i me and 20 others witnessed it. The night was so clear, and i was amazed that it just disapeared and left a fog like mist. |
