All I repeat ALL of the planets in our solar system have been increasing in surface temperature. This has been observed through NASA and other agencies.

The amount of global warming that we would have if we were to completly stop poluting would be devastational. Do we want and need cleaner air, yep... But, is this pollution actually prolonging our existence on this planet.

The improtant thing to know would be how much temperature rise the other planets are receiving, and exactly how much our atmosphere reduces this on our planet in comparison. Without pollution first and then add in the pollution factor and related material!

Now I am no professional scientist (so to speak), however, it seems to me, with the information available at this moment, that the added levels of pollution are saving our butts at the moment.

I do not mean this is good for our lungs rather, view the world as if it had a 5-10 deg warmth factor added right now if we stopped everything.

I read somewhere, that a planet further from the sun than we reside on Earth, had a temperature increase of 38 deg. That is simply huge... Now, since there is no atmosphere on that or any other planet in our solar system with the exception of Earth, it may be as little as 5 or as much as 10 here.

Dire straights indeed! A temp rise of 1 deg in three days due to lack of pollution is nothing shy of devastational if we were to stop everything immediatley. A small set of adjustments in reverse fashion will not even cure this!

Ever heard the phrase "Baptised by Fire." I don't think it was a metaphor. Have a great day!

Because they know implicitly that they cannot fix the problem. Chances are that more than half the population of Earth would have already perished if the pollution was not there. The Sun would be cooking us without! Watch the video again that you posted. The facts are there...

One more note for ya here. The airplanes were only stopped in America for three days, not everywhere on the planet! So, that 1 deg temp rise would be considerably larger if every country would just halt air operations. An estimate would be double since we are the highest users of air traffic.

Would the temp. level out or would it continue to rise to 5-10 or 15 deg higher. We may only assume because it didn't happen, the indications of a much higher rise in temp are there.

Anonymous Coward User ID: 798361 Sorry, I got no idea what you're trying to say. Greenhouse gases trap radiation inside and less radiation can get into the atmosphere to begin with, so I guess with less pollution the cosmic ray flux rise by 19% would be even larger?

It's a shame, we as humans are really close to understanding so many fundamental things about our world and the universe, maybe even ourselves. Gravity, electricity and magnetism, electromagnetism, very powerful stuff, way underrated that is all I will say. We just don't know enough about them to properly use them, like storing energy inside magnetic fields... wireless electricity is only now becoming available to people. Do we just not understand these forces or is this knowledge hidden from us or veiled/shrouded to us some way. Maybe we are overlooking or missing something...

Look at the magnetosphere sim, a blast hit us, multiple blasts of energy actually, not sure if it's from the sun's latest tiny sunspot or a GRB or something. So yesterday made the best halloween ever, due to the nearby wetlands causing it to smell like the undead or zombies rofl. Then the amazing lightning show and torrential rain we had near the bay in Australia. Lightning usually creates ozone and ozone is usually destroyed or damaged by GRBs, lightning also expels radiation from the atmosphere into the radiation belts.
