I have just visited the section by 'Angels everywhere'under Poems of Transformation and found several of my poems used with no copyright to me apart from one...
This is not in keeping with specific directions on my web site that states that in order to use my work there has to be written permission and my copyright and link to my site www.soul-awakening.com
Make no mistake..this is not acceptable and we can do all the rambling on about angels and new age etc..BUT..if we do not treat one another with respect its a mockery of everything.
I do not take this lightly. Once poems get bandied about on the internet with no copyright its akin to stealing a persons creativity and I will not stand for it.

It is the only way to get notice as I cannot contact her directly as I am not prepared to pay to upgrade but I tell you that it does sicken me...It takes so little to do the right thing and I have never refused anyone yet...
but to steal my work? just not acceptable ..
I am also very into conspiracy theories et al...but my reason to post was to highlight an injusrtice and thats REAL to me ;-( |

2 words...."Fair use"...you can write all the scary you must do this, you must do that jargon you wish, but as long as whatever you or anyone writes and posts on a public access website GLP can post it to debate and discuss....
Since I would consider this art...we are a bit more strict about things of this nature, but the above still does apply and if you didn't expect to have anything you posted desiminated throughout the internets?...you should have made them private access.
Now I did not see her attempting to take credit for anything which you did post on your website...instead of attempting to boss everyone around...why don't you ask her...nicely... to credit you on every poem instead of just the one....

Do what you have to do OP...how many of yours did I use?? I liked them plain and simple...I was not trying steal anything from you...and yes waiting until I came on GLP and calling me out on a forum was not called for...there are other ways to go about this...

yeah, not cool at all. aside from the law, on a person to person level, if you read something that resonates with you or inspires you, especially if it's to the point that you want to post it and share it with others, you should give the author credit. then the readers can find the more of author's work and be further inspired or whatever. the author also gets to see that there is a transaction of communication between them and someone else.
besides that, it's not cool to try and post someone else's work as your own. when you lay down at night, you're going to know you're a fake, everyone else will figure it out eventually as well. |

that's nonsense. My whole web site is devoted to helping people by what I write including poetry but its very obvious on every page that in order to use my work you have to ask then follow directions.
I am really mad and with good reason. If poetry gets put about without copyright it gets lost in the mists of the www and they are precious to me as I wrote them.
Its all very well to say they were 'nice'...but everyone who uses them gives me copyright..its lawful and only the decent thing to do. I should NOT have to ask her nicely She can either give me copyright or remove them |

Their site is total shit.
I stored many of my poems on their site...
I had an upgraded account for a short time (it was gifted to me).
Their free limit was 10 works, and I had about 15 works stored on there after the upgrade.
When the upgrade expired, they locked the folders which contained my newer poetry I hadn't stored on my computer yet. They said the poems would be stored on their database in my account for X amount of months before being deleted.
They would not let me view them without making me pay, and when I attempted (twice) to pay, it was rejected with some error on their site.
I never got my poems back... I promptly deleted my account from there because if I CAN'T HAVE MY WORKS THAT I CREATED, fucking NO ONE CAN.
