Hmm. And who called the council of Nicea?
Emperor Constantine called 318 bishops and the developed the creed through the process of compromise in 325 A.D. Funny the leader of a earthly nation, not the leader of the church, or churches called such a meeting, and it was supposedly of God. The creed was written to address three major controversies during that time.
1. The Arian contraversy, which had to do with the doctrine of the Trinity, especially the relationship of the Father and the Son; 2. The Appolinarian Controversy, with reference to the nature of Christ; 3. The Pelagian Controversy over questions relating to sin and salvation.
Funny if this creed was God born, why was it born of a council gathered together by a man with a political agenda and why was it used to address controversies between bishops, who according to you are inspired by God by the laying on of hands? Quoting: gierrmo 697909
Camel and Knat Syndrome, homey.
The Apostalic Creed, from which this one was drawn, says basically the same thing and all Protestants believe basically the same thing and they got it from the Catholics - thus, if the Catholic Church is antichristian then so are all the protestants.
Point is, as long as the Catholic Church maintains these Cardinal Doctrines of the Faith they can not be the Antichristian system of the enddays.
I would remind the reader that the Catholic Church has been reciting the creed above every Sunday for 2000 years. [link to theoferrum.blogspot.com]

 | | Re: I just converted to Catholicism - Ask me a Question! | Quote | Here is the Apostalic Creed - compare it yourself with the Niacene Creed which, I would remind the reader, the entire Church believed in for about 1500 years before Rosicrucianer Fartin Luther was born and, if I am not mistaken, the majority of main stream protestantism affirms both creeds and always have.
The Apostalic Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.
AMEN. [link to theoferrum.blogspot.com]

And why assume by my post that I defend Luther or any other protestant denomination? I have no need for any man made creed period, nor do I live by any. The insprired word is perfect, I need nothing more.
II Timothy 3:
15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
If the man of God may be made made perfect through his knowledge of the scriptures, why make a creed to live by? Look to the word alone, the answers are there.
Nicean creed--result of earthly ruler Constantine's calling a meeting of bishops to hammer out man made contraversy, not God breathed. |

For all the protestants out there who don't know what Catholics believe here it is.
We recite this Creed before Mass and have every Sunday for 2000 years :
The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, one in Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered, died, and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in fulfillment of the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come.
Amen. Quoting: Theoferrum

Psycho-something, you can be sure.
And since you're so big on the corrections,
you could at least get your big impressive words right.
It's psychosomatism
as in psychosomatic
1 : of, relating to, concerned with, or involving both mind and body <the psychosomatic nature of man — Herbert Ratner>
2 : of, relating to, involving, or concerned with bodily symptoms caused by mental or emotional disturbance <psychosomatic symptoms> <psychosomatic medicine> |

Very good - now email the Priest and ask him if he charismated me or not.

The Rock was Peter's Statement of Faith.
A statement of faith can not be an object.
For any out there with ears to hear and eyes to see:
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Mat 16:16-18
And for over 1500 years not one living saint from the church doubted that Peter was the Rock on which Y'shua built his church until Rosicrucian Luther suggested otherwise. Quoting: Theoferrum
Of course "faith" can be the "object," literally and figuratively.
Diagram the sentence, Professor.
And why would the Lord Jesus Christ refer to his great disciple Peter as "it." |

I study the Bible and listen to a few good teachers on the radio. I like John MacArthur and Chuck Swindoll.
Oh, a Dallas Fan. You know, they believe the George Peters wrote the classic on the premill faith called the Theocratic Kingdom - did you know that? Well, in that book he, along with all the "Kingdom Theologians" decided that the church today does not live under any New Covenant, but under the Abrahamic Covenant renewed. Did you know that? In other words, the Protestant churches, when they walked away from the Catholic Church, walked away from the New Covenant and they will be judged by the Abrahamic Covenant. That should give you something to think about. Quoting: Theoferrum

Catholics didn't teach you this. I doubt any man did.
You studied yourself. But who approves of what?
You are 100% correct - that is the result of a personal study of the four Gospel's and specifically the differences between them which I reconciled. There are no contradictions in the word, only in some people's understanding of the word.
As far as who approves of what - I doubt that this particular study would ever be proposed to the magisterium of the church so each person can decide for themselves.
It, however, explains all the so-called contradictions. Quoting: Theoferrum
