Re: I LOVE MY TABLE-TOP WATER DISTILLER!!
here is a copy of the element chart,

[link to www.chemicalelements.com]

Notice that floride, chlorine, bromide, and iodine are elements that line up. They each have 9 electrons in their outter orbit. It requires iodine for the thyroid, it is being discussed that floride, chlorine and bromide interfer with iodine uptake.

This may cause issues with the thyroid which regulates metabolism. No wonder americans are getting fatter in the middle. Floride is added to the water, Chlorine is added to the water and all breads use bromide in the whitening process.

I want floride and chlorine out of my water and although filters may remove some chlorine, it does nothing for floride. I looked at floride filters for the house and they are way expensive.

What distiller did you get and where... I want one.

Right here gangsta's. This is the one I got. You can get the basic distiller for about a hundred bucks. i springed an extra 50 to get the glass collection jug, it is one gallon. I love this little setup. it is sweet. about as loud as a small fan. takes 4-6 hours to crank out a gallon of pure unfucked water.

You just have to look at the element chart to see that it's effect was really to hurt the thyroid. Slow thyroid effects are weight in the midrift area of the body. Look at all the weight problems today.

Add all the other chemicals, HFCS, MSG, Aspertane and you can witness that the WHO and CDC are as corrupt as our senators and bankers.

I hear you loud and clear bro. This is one of the best 159 bucks I ever spent. All of the bullshit goes away 99.8% (if you DOUBLE DISTILL that figure is 100%). No metals. The distiller has a little vent, apparently, that allows for the escape of volatile organics (PCB's). The water it produces tastes fantastic, the first one or two batches tasted a little peculiar i think because of stuff still remaining from the manufacturing process. To avoid this just toss out your first 3 batches and problem solved. And no... I am not spamming or pushing this particular product, I AM PUSHING THIS TECHNOLOGY! Anyone that THINKS they can do better with assinine and expensive filters or complicated REVERSE OSMOSIS is seriously diluted. I know reverse osmosis makes damn fine water BUT it cant beat distillation AND distillation kicks so much ass cause there is NOTHING to replace! PERIOD!

This particular little gizmo is solid and well built, no doubt. Basically it is a boiling kettle with a cover that cools the steam allowing it to drip out into the collection container. As I mentioned I sprang an extra 50 cause some people said that the available plastic collector made the water taste off. I figure if I was blowing 100, 50-60 more to get the INERT GLASS collecting jug was worth it.

As far as maintenance this is what I found... the machine turns off by one of two processes... either you let it self auto-turn off or you cut its power supply before it auto-turns off. The advantages of cutting the power is that less crusty shit sticks to the bottom of the kettle so that you can just dump out the residual friggin molasses rinse it out and refill.... no build up. If you let it auto-shut off... it will extract every fuckin drop of pure H2O it can and some sediment will crust-up at the bottom. Not terrible but prolly after 7-10 gallons you will do good to remove it. The cake build up totally on the bottom and not the sides. i read one posters method to remove this crust and tried it... works perfect. It involves pouring white vineger into it and leaving it for 24hr. just pour the vinegar out back into the vinegar bottle (for reuse!) and wipe clean the kettle bottom. What you get is a PRISTINE STAINLESS STEEL KETTLE EXACTLY HOW IT CAME TO YOU WHEN YOU FIRST GOT IT. Pretty cool!

I love this little thing! I see that you can get humongo distillers to supply whatever you need but I am just one person and it is more than i need.

I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!!!!

LOL.... seriously gals d guys look into distillation and fuck all the other shit. follow mother nature... do as she does. its a true winner!

the idea sound totally kick ass but i dunno... look what all 4 posters said. Seems like a weak track record BUT I AGREE THE IDEA IS OUTSTANDING!! seems expensive. Well... we still got power, hopefully for a while, so I will stick to the electric kettle. BUT, I will begin to investigate electric-less distillers as this would be an invaluable item in a serious crisis!

Thanks AC!!

Great Technology!!

Got ours from Tenerife as we live in the Canaries - 195Euros delivered with a free book called "The Choice Is Clear" by Dr Allen E Banik. If you're in any doubt about the value of distilled water, I recommend you read the book. ISBN 0-911311-31-9, 3.50USD.

Finally got fed up with carting plastic bottles from the grocery store--decided to get gallon glass jugs and get the water from the store's dispenser. It was cheaper to buy maple water than to have the bottles shipped, so we tried the maple water. It was amazing!! Expensive but delicious. Glad to be done with the plastic--next step is a distiller. Thanks for the info.

That is a great distiller, but I'll bet that gallon of distilled water costs a boatload of watts per gallon.

Of course, as long as we have cheap electricity, it seems like a good deal.

I think I might want to check that out. The water'd probably taste better than that coming out of my Brita filter.

I picked up on that myself...2600 watts and it takes almost an hour to get less than a gallon. Multiply 26 times your watt hour rate and it is something like $1.60. I wonder how good distilled water is for you.....water with natural minerals less the other poisons might be better.

Re: I LOVE MY TABLE-TOP WATER DISTILLER!!
I've been drinking distilled water since 1971 when I returned from Vietnam. Something inside just told me to do so. It wasn't a conscious thing I just did it.

Now, all these years later my sisters (3) all have arthritis and cardiovascular problems and my brother is now dead. So it's pretty important.

Distilled water has no minerals in it. That's why they say it's bad for you. However the human body CANNOT use the dissolved minerals that are found in water. Matter of fact the liver will try to turn any water you do drink into distilled water before it cleans and supplies all the fluids the body needs.

The human body can only use "ionic" minerals. Dissolved minerals are too big for the bodies requirements and end up precipitating out into the arteries and joints. Whala - heart disease and arthritis.

Distilled water does indeed leach out minerals from the body but they are the minerals that your body can't use anyway and are indeed creating quite a few problems for that body in the arteries and joints. Plus, putting an extra load on the liver that it doesn't need.

Ionic minerals are small enough for the body to use. If you've ever seen colloidal silver you'll notice you can't see the minerals in it. There is no mineral debris on the bottom and the color is clear. That's ionic minerals. It gets a little more technical than that but that's the basic explanation of it.

Ionic minerals are found in food only. Only nature can break down the minerals to the size the human body can use.

A mineral that is disolved by water over rocks and such cannot be used by the human body. The minerals will collect in your arteries and joints. You'll literally turn to stone.

Distilled water disolves those minerals and keeps you clean. So in that capacity distilled water does indeed leach minerals from the body. But, again, it's the minerals that are creating all the problems in the first place (disolved minerals). Distilled water cannot leach ionic minerals from the body. Ionic minerals become part and parcel of the tissues of the body and thus cannot be leached.

Again, the liver attempts to make all water you drink into distilled water. So you might as well give your liver a break and keep your arteries and joints clean by drinking distilled water in the first place.

I've heard all the controversies over the years also. I stuck with distilled water because I just felt better drinking it and sure enough eventually I found the technical reasons why. Buy a distiller. Doc Sutter"

Ive had a gravity feed water purifier for a couple of years now, noticed the different in health almost streight away, only cost is the change of filter once every 8 weeks or so, $30 but well worth the price.

Yes, I believe it is called a plastic "tarp" -- you hang it up by the four ends, put a weight in the middle to hold a slope to the middle, cut a small hole there with a holder underneath. The dew forms on the plastic sheeting and gravity moves it to the lowest spot where it drips into the bucket...

Re: I LOVE MY TABLE-TOP WATER DISTILLER!!

I was concerned about water with no minerals, and many people warned against it. But when I researched it I found that, as long as our diet contains enough nutrients, including minerals, we definitely do not need to obtain them from water. Mineral-free water passes through and hydrates our bodies more easily than any other water.

You can research this more on the net.

And regarding the electricity factor, obviously solar energy is better for powering this. We're working on that one - next step is to make our own solar panels.
