CHAPTER - ADAM AND THE CHURCH IN CHINA [link to www.godrules.net] The Seventh Day: Revelations from the Lost pages of History [link to video.google.com] 84 min Part Five of The Seventh Day: Revelations from the Lost Pages of History blends history and current events to conclude the chronicle of the seventh-day Sabbath. This is an epic story, worldwide in scope, ranging from the Taiping revolutionaries in China to the millions of Indigenous Sabbatarians of Africa to the remote village of Paruima in South America. It spans the centuries from Roger Williams' heroic stand for religious liberty in 17th-century America to the crisis of conscience faced by many of today's Sabbath-keepers. In this final episode of The Seventh Day, Hal Holbrook shares a 21st - century view of God's holy day and projects the gift of Sabbath rest into the eternal future. Overview - Part Five 1. Roger Williams and Religious Liberty This nonconformist preacher established the Rhode Island colony on the foundation of freedom of conscience for everyone. 2. To the New World A Sabbath-keeping Baptist couple emigrate from England to Rhode Island and help establish the first Seventh Day Baptist congregation in America. 3. A Song in the Wilderness Conrad Beisel and his followers establish a Sabbath-keeping community on Pennsylvania's remote Cocalico Creek -- the Ephrata Cloister. 4. A Voice from Germany Count Ludwig von Zinzendorf directs the Moravian mission to the North American Indians and inspires his community to keep the seventh-day Sabbath. 5. Advent Movement A Seventh Day Baptist lady shares her Sabbath beliefs with an early Adventist minister, and this leads to the establishment of the Seventh-day Adventist church. 6. Kingdom of Heavenly Peace 19th-century China is shaken by the Taiping Revolution, a huge peasant revolt is shaped, in part, by biblical principles including observance of the seventh-day Sabbath. 7. Eskimo Prophet In Alaska's Kobuk River valley a man named Maniilaq learns about "seventh-day resting" from the one he calls "the Grandfather". 8. The Shining One Deep in the South American rain forest Chief Owkwa learns about the Sabbath from a bright celestial visitor. 9. Africa The Sabbath has deep cultural roots in many parts of this continent, including Ghana and Kwazulu Natal. 10. Saving Sunday The secularization of Sunday in 19th-century America leads some political and religious leaders to promote laws to protect Sunday as a national day of rest and worship. 11. Sabbath on Trial People who observe Saturday as the Sabbath instead of Sunday often face financial hardship and legal trouble because of their beliefs. 12. People of the Sabbath Although still a small minority, seventh-day Sabbath-keepers are increasing in number around the world. 13. Challenges Seventh-day Adventist theologians respond to critics who contend that observing the seventh-day Sabbath is legalistic or irrelevant for Christians today. 14. Eternal Sabbath Bible prophecy points to the Sabbath as part of God's plan for a perfect world in the eternal future. www.the7thday.org |

Caernarfon Castle with its walls based on those of Constantinople was Edward Is monument to the final conquest of Wales in 1282. At time of building the castle the English faked discovery of King Arthurs bones to further disillusion the Welsh and of course Edward had in this conquest stolen the Royal treasures of Gwynedd which included Coron Arthur (Arthur's crown). Further pertinent to Glyndŵr and the Welsh was fact that the Golden Dragon banner was originally the flag of Uther Pendragon, Arthurs father and since this time had become the banner also associated with Meibion Darogan (Sons of Prophecy) which Glyndŵr became recognised as. Last but not least, Owain Gwynedd a founder prince of Gwynedd was also referred to in Heraldic poetry with Golden Dragons, Glyndŵr no doubt was seeking association with this fact too. You're so wrong... User ID: 1365085 United States 05/01/2011 02:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's time to point ot what the Chinese dragon really is : a symbol of Luciferianism adopted by the local Freemasons. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 783644The truth is that the old Chinese dragon came from ancient Egypt. It was a cultural import from the occult pyrmaid people. So both of them became pagans at the same time. Do you people even study what you spout? Oh yes, your YouTube sources that do not even document Chinese fact. It's all zealot BS. Why is it Christianity, in particular, demonizes anything that it doesn't understand or feels is a threat? Do you believe your god so impotent as to not speak for himself???? Did he not lay down over 600 laws to the Jews? (Only ten of which, btw, made it into your Bible...) I am pasting portions of my essay, as it covers actual fact. Bash it if you want, but it is the truth you hate spouting Judas to humanity. God is supposed to be about love, not hate. Clearly we are not worshiping the same deity. Oh and to the "Anonymous Coward" person with the apt username, China's beliefs in dragons did NOT come from the Asiatic countries. They were shaped, but the Asias have always been reclusive and remained so until the 1800s. (P.S. This essay is not only unfinished, but owned and copyrighted to me. Any reprint without permission violates that copyright. It is also unedited, so excuse the dust.) It is with the utmost sincerity that I wish beyond wish and hope beyond hope to be bestowed with the ultimate form of awesome—a pet dragon. Dragons are simply the most beautifully amazing creatures (along with faeries) that surpass all levels of paragon paradigm, for this magnum opus of beauty, grace, and style would not only be awe inspiring eye candy, but would lay waste and siege at my command. Be ye wary o black castle of darkest obsidian glass in Pittsburgh for thou art mine!!! With Nerf guns and ballista, mine dragon shall SMITE THEE! For ever more shall those who make themselves mine enemies tremble before my dragon’s might! I shall love thee as no woman has ever loved a dragon and you shall feast upon many pathetic and paltry humans with much ketchup and mustard and crunchy bone goodness! The amazing grace and sleek style of the dragon cannot be ignored; from ancient Jewish, Persian and Grecian mythologies to the more modern Slavic, European and tales from India, dragons have no equal. Nor can they be contained to a specific archetype: appearing as the evil villains throughout Anglo mythologies. Even within the tablets of The Epic of Gilgamesh, one of the earliest known writings, the dread Babylonian chaos dragon Tiamat; the goodly heroes, such as the Japanese dragon goddess of rain Zennyo Ryuo, who’s name is symbolized by character for Zen; and indifferent elements of animal or nature such as the four Chinese Dragon Kings, who represent not only the four seas surrounding China (the East China Sea, the South China Sea, the West Sea or Indian Ocean, and the North Sea that is thought to be Lake Biakal). Moreover, dragons’ adroit movements have been coined within the Asiatic martial arts style. Whereas the tiger style of fighting relies of brute strength of arm and memorization of techniques, the dragon style relies on the understanding of human movement so the fighter’s movements become fluid and the style more of improvisation and diversity than of strict study and adherence to execution. To a dragon most modern buildings, particularly skyscrapers that rely on glass as a primary construction tool, would be all too easy to turn into rubble. Dragons such as the magnificent Scandinavian Fafnir and majestic Jormungand would be completely unimpressed, and quite possibly offended by such ridiculous things, these man-made towers of wonder would crumble to insta-dust while Nordic ‘tearer of corpses’ Nidhogg would likely devour them just as he eats the roots of the World Tree Yggdrasil to bring about the destruction of the universe. Worse still, the fire dragon Beowulf battled would rend asunder buildings with little or no thought. Given that dragons are attributed with making highly combustible and flammable hydrocarbons (a compound solely made of hydrogen and carbon) within their stomachs as part of their digestive process, these creatures become even more formidable than they were with only their razor sharp teeth and claws. Human beings would pose less of a threat than the glass and steel bowers we are so fond of creating. What puny mortal can stand face-to-face against colossal diadem of the crimson Welsh powerhouse Y Ddraig Goch with fangs like butcher knives and talons like spears? It is too easy to see how dragons were modeled into martial arts styles and how mortals might love and worship them. .....Anonymous Coward, you're a jackass. |
Rilriia User ID: 1365085 United States 05/01/2011 03:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Whoops, post edit because it needs it. Egyptian mythos did shape Asiatic mythologies (and mythologies from around the world). Considering that Mesopotamia was the 'cradle of civilization', how could it not? Africa the birth place of humanity. So on and so forth. Shaping mythologies, adding to the pot (as it were) is not the same as creation. Even Native Americans (who did not as far as we know, interact with Africans until they were brought to this country as slaves) had dragons. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT YOU BIBLE THUMPING HYPOCRITE. In fact, before you spout religion, go read the Bible. I'll even match you verse for verse. We'll go King James if that's alright with you, but if not, we can do other versions. P.S. A dear friend of mine happens to be a Mason. The Masons use the Welsh red dragon Y Ddraig Goch, who is a symbol of King Arthur's victory over the pagan Celtic kings. Thusly, the red is a symbol of CHRISTIANITY PREVAILING over pagans. Incidentally, I've been wondering why the Bible says "Thou shalt not murder" (King James edition: Exodus 20:13 --and it is accepted that the word 'kill' was poorly translated from 'murder') when: * "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" (King James: Exodus 22:18). * God kills 70,000 people to punish King David for ordering a census of his people (King James: 1 Chronicles 21:9-14) * God orders the destruction of 60 cities so the Israelites can live there (King James: Deuteronomy 3:1-7) * God kills the prophets of Baal to show his might to Elijah and followers during the nightly sacrifice (King James: Kings 18:36-40) ...Hmmm, maybe you're just following in the footsteps of blood, destruction and intolerance. And you call dragons evil????? You've got a very interesting definition of the word my friend. And yes, I could go on with examples, quite easily... your religion is covered in the blood of the innocent. From the beginnings of Cain and Abel to the medieval 'witch' trials to every war against the 'pagans' and 'heathens' and people that don't fit your narrow minded view of the world.... You are an |
Daniel Knight User ID: 15712304 United States 06/18/2012 12:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If not for 784451's comment I might have fallen a little for this, I was starting to, but then I remembered that in the Bible the lion is both used to symbolize Satan and Christ, using it's two aspects, one it's dominance (Jesus), the other, it's boldness in announcing its power ability by roaring (Satan). The contrast: Jesus is humble though he's on top of all, but Satan boasts with his power (and announces he's a destroyer). The snake too is used that way, the golden serpent Moses used, a foretelling symbol of Christ on the cross, and of course used, because of the Garden of Eve incident, to represent Satan and "false" (false is sort of figure of speech) religious teachers too.
