all i have to say is that sog make his points. but even though he is placing his logic into the thread he is not trying to help with the progress of the goal in this thread, but rather troll and cause a rise in emotions. and now i'll put my two cents into the argument. yes dolphins are intelligent. but if they are at par with human intelligence, it is unknown, because we do not know they're way of life. they have there strong points that us humans cannot compare with and we have our strong points. but the question is would we be able to survive in a dolphins enviroment, given the tools they have, as if they would be able to survive in ours? it may sound like a stupid question at first. but really think about it.

I don't understand how the question of intelligence can be a consideration on a horrific act such as this. Who are we to judge that another species is less intelligent than us... How is this intelligence measured? By our own standards? Animals have instincts social grops an intuitive sensory perception on a level that we would never understand that's been built up over evolutionary time, we have destroyed this notion in ourselves by our 'intelligent'technological advances..so I see only a different intelligence but no less relevant and worthy than our own.

As disgusting as the slaughtering of cats, dolphins etc may be YES the arab world is "so bad"! They offer up VERY YOUNG GIRLS for marriage to GROWN MEN, many 40-70 or more years old WHO sexually force themselves upon these children!!

These pictures are actually from a whale drive in Denmark..many dolphins were caught in it too...
What disturbs me most..and I say MOST..is the vicious method of attack, the people standing around watching, like it was a gladiator event...these nations that did this particular drive, are supposed to be Christian majority nations...and I find it horrifying their lack of compassion for these whales and dolphins..

I reported on this at the end of August when the up coming dolphin drive was exposed for Japan..I also found that the majority of Japanese people are not aware of it, and were equally horrified by this bloodthirsty behaviour.

Japan put a moratorium on this years drive in light of the Cove documentary, at the first of Sept...but perhaps it has happened dispite that.

And how about an island off the coast of France that uses live dogs as shark bait with huge hooks in their muzzles to take tourist out for shark hunting?

Another is an island in Greece that AFTER the tourist season, poisons all the stray cats and dogs with bait..then the street cleaners come along and clean up the bodies..the animals die a horrific death of tortured fits...
The islanders say they know of it, but the tourists would not come back if they knew..all these practices are what the different countries defend as traditional, practices for generations...the residents turn a blind eye away..and nothing is done about it!

What say you to this video, the faces, the crowds that watched...I can not support any religion that allows this sort of behavior in it's midst..it is against the very law of love...repulsive, sickening, stomach wrenching...
Do you say you cannot watch it? If so, then force yourself to watch it, no matter how disturbing..then perhaps you will be moved to join groups like WWF, Defenders of Wildlife, and others, to put pressure on governments with petitions to stop these abuses of nature!

One voice, then another, and another, mounts up..we have not solved all the problems, but as groups of individuals we have stopped many horrifying practices, hunts, cruelty, and predation, through the years!

There is no defense to the Creator for Murder..and that is what this is..there are other ways that fish can be caught..if they claim it is for economic reasons, that is a lie..this is just a brutal blood bath..and the stains lie on everyone who doesn't denounce it immediately..the watchers are the ones who are the bloodiest in my opinion..because they stand by and do nothing...

Reading the responses in this thread from both parties, I now find myself questioning human intelligence. The throws back and forth really did seem like two little kids arguing on a trivial issue.

Seal pups/dolphins always evoke emotions, but nobody gives a shit about the lowly cod/tuna. Is it because they don't look cute? Then again, nobody gives a stuff about the slaughter of lambs either.
