We MUST stop the Socialized Healthcare Bill

A handful of healthcare bills are beginning to circulate in Washington. Each of these bills are written in a way that will have disastrous results.
From making individual health insurance illegal to placing catastrophic taxes, fees and regulation on small businesses, the administration is attempting to pass legislation that would effectively destroy the fabric of our great country.
Right now one of the most important things you can do is to apply pressure to the Democrats who know full well they shouldn’t vote to support this legislation, but need to make sure we Americans agree with them. Please contact the following Blue Dog Democrats immediately and tell them you can’t afford this. Tell them American can’t afford this!

The Blue Dog Democrats are a coalition of moderate and conservative Democratic members of the United States House of Representatives. Their numbers vary, but generally hover between 30 and 50 individuals. This relatively new force in the Democratic party claims to be building bridges between the Democrats and Republicans in government, although critics have pointed out that the Blue Dog Democrats have also triggered a general trend towards conservatism in the United States Government, much to the frustration of liberals.

This coalition was founded in 1994 by a group of Southern Democrats who held traditional values about reproductive rights, the economy, immigration, and other major issues. The explanation for the name of the organization varies, depending on who you talk to. Some Blue Dog Democrats say that it is a reference to a series of paintings in the office of a Louisiana Congressman who was a founding member of the group, while others say it is a joking reference to the Yellow Dog Democrats, Democrats who are “so loyal that they would vote for a mangy yellow dog before they'd vote for a Republican.”
The members of the Blue Dog Coalition work together in a number of ways. They often vote together as a block, bringing a more conservative voice into the American Democratic Party, and they also work together to sponsor bills in the legislature and promote programs which they think are important. Some Blue Dog Democrats also try to act as moderators in heated debated between the two major parties in Washington, in an attempt to reach agreements which everyone can be happy with.
Junior Representatives in the coalition are sometimes referred to as “Blue Pups,” in a reference to their recent arrival on Capitol Hill. The numbers of such Blue Pups began to rise in the late 1990s, with conservative Democrats displacing some more moderate and liberal members of the party in several key elections. Blue Dogs come from all over the United States, including areas which have traditionally been dominated by more liberal politics.
Many Blue Dogs advocate for more sound fiscal policy in the United States, attempting to create policies which will build a strong economy and encourage financial responsibility among people and businesses. They may also support other traditionally conservative efforts, like a push for more gun rights. However, Blue Dog Democrats should not be confused with Republicans. They do differ from the Republican party on a lot of key issues; many Blue Dogs, for example, support organized labor and other “liberal” causes, demonstrating the balance that they strike between the two parties, integrating both traditionally conservative and liberal values. |

The "biggest of the big lies in the health care hype is that a lack of insurance means a lack of medical care," and the "second-biggest lie is that health care and medical care are the same thing," Thomas Sowell, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, writes in a Baltimore Sun opinion piece. Sowell continues that physicians "cannot stop" people from "ruining [their] health in a hundred different ways, so statistics on everything from infant mortality and AIDS are not proof of a need for government to take over medical treatment."
He writes, "Few people show the slightest interest in what has happened in countries with government-controlled medical care," adding that "people in those countries" spend "months" on waiting lists for medical care "that Americans get just by picking up a phone and making an appointment." In addition, it is "amazing how many people seem uninterested in such things as why so many doctors in Britain are from Third World countries with lower medical standards -- or why people from Canada come to the United States for medical treatment that they could get cheaper at home," Sowell writes.
According to Sowell, "price controls on pharmaceutical drugs are more of the same illusion of something for nothing." He writes, "People who are urging us to follow other countries that control the prices of medications seem uninterested in the fact that those countries depend on the United States to create drugs, after they destroyed incentives to do so in their own countries" (Sowell, Baltimore Sun, 9/5).

dems are going for it.......and are doing so knowing that the 2010 is going to a political bloodbath for the party...that is...if "O" lets the election takes it course...my predication is that he'll bring the UN in to oversee the election and have the UN carry out a police action in the US....and that will give all these good ol' boys the excuse to shoot 'em and then the UN forces will take it out on the population and it'll be like the british going from concord to trenton....behind every tree somebody with a gun... |

Id like some health insurance, but it costs way too much, and becaue I didnt have any this winter, I lost my leg and now, I have a pre existing condition. Legs cost ten to fifty grand. I dont have it.
Hmm, What shall I do? I thought maybe I could be a spokesperson for IHOP, but the position was filled. |

Government programs always try to control every aspect that falls under the view of the administrators of that government program. There is always only one way with the government, the government way. All other ways are illegal, prohibited, fined and crushed. Monopoly is the name of the game, so you must come to government for a former free market need.
In the end the process, not the product, is the only thing of importance to the government. Actual results do not mean anything, only intent and control.
What this means for Medicare was the capture of health care, an enormous chunk of the economy placed under fascist control. The government line is that escalating costs were not because of government monopoly (and therefore, lack of competition), but because of lack of government regulation.
When government regulations exacerbate the costs, the solution is more government regulation. Until finally government becomes the sole provider.
Then when this fails, government rations, because there is only so much of commodity "X" that the government controls. Government OAFicials and the well connected get all of "X" they could want; you get to divide up the rest.
In the end, Medicare will fail. Medicaid will fail. Free Prescription Drugs will fail. Because the costs are unacceptably high for the taxpayers to bear, and the government product will be crappy (can you say Soviet Union). When that collapse occurs, pray you are neither very old, nor in need of health care, because the next few years will be a transition from government medicine to the free market. Whether this occurs by popular acclaim or at the point of a gun is hard to say. |

Too late. The damage is done with the Bail Out, Stimulus, and the in-progress carbon tax.
Don't waste your time fighting this. The only chance is to throw out the Democrats and Republicans and get some people of character sent to Washington to undo all the damage.
Fighting any fight other than this (like fighting social medicine) is pointless.
