Sharks off the California Coast - Could it Predict an Earthquake?
Saw it on the news:

[link to www.ktla.com]

Last time sea creatures that live in deep waters came close to the coast we had a significant earthquake.

California announced an earthquake drill on October 15th.

Montserrat volcano shoots plume of ash into sky

Mon Oct 5, 2:22 pm ET
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The volcano on the Caribbean island of Montserrat shot a plume of ash more than two miles (three kilometers) into the sky Monday, lightly dusting the small Caribbean island.
The venting by the Soufriere Hills volcano has been accompanied by more than 30 tiny earthquakes since Sunday night, according to Paul Cole, director of the Montserrat Volcano Observatory. He said it was the volcano's first sign of activity in 10 months.
"It's just a reminder that the volcano is still active," said James White Jr., acting director of the Disaster Management Coordination Agency. "It isn't something for us to panic over."
Ash released in several bursts from the volcano passed south of Old Town and Olveston, leaving only a light coating in the island's inhabited areas. But the observatory said more ash could fall depending on the wind direction.
Soufriere Hills became active in 1995 and killed 19 people when it erupted two years later, burying much of the British territory and prompting half its 12,000 inhabitants to leave.

I have noticed that when there is a large quake, there is very often a corresponding large quake across the world within a day. I thought it was opposite side of the world but someone corrected me on that and gave me a link showing exact opposites of the world - and it wasn't right on, but I still believe that theory even if not exact - I think there is something to it. Especially since the Keeler quakes.

My grandmother was a very mystic lady and when it was a full large reddish moon she would say that there's gonna be an earthquake somewhere....lol

I think they're better ways of predicting an Earth Quake...lol

But I have family in Cali and I'm worried about them

Ok....so.....here goes my test.
The 24 to 36 hours before the Somoa quake, I had a sharp top of the head down behind my eyes headache that wouldnt respond to my normal remedy.
I have never paid attention until just before that quake, I read a post here on GLP by ??? that gave an external link to a woman that was having the same type deal and I noticed she had posted 2 days prior and that my headache had relieved about the same time as the quake.
I have the same type of headache as of about 430 pm today. I hope it is just coincedence. However if not.....the quakes that followed were 7+'s and thats not anything to want to know anything about.....especially if one couldnt predict the where and when specifically to help those that would be potentially at risk.....
so....we'll see. I hope to see that it is all just happenstance. If not....look out in the next 24 to 36 hours.
Sorry for the run ons but....I do have a headache.

Depends really where the location. There's the main fault San Andreas and L.V. caldera/super volcano and those two are quite significant.

for a 7.8 along the southern san andreas fault it's predicted that there would be 1,800 deaths and 50,000 injuries. i don't know about the leveling of downtown buildings, but for sure there would be a lot of destroyed smaller buildings in the LA basin.

Re: Sharks off the California Coast - Could it Predict an Earthquake?
I was on the fourth floor of a building during our last significant quake - I have a really hard time working in that building now - it was such a strange and frightening experience. The building apparently was retrofitted for quakes so I'm sure it felt much worse than it really was because of all the swaying - the building just rode the quake like jello if that makes sense. I take my purse with me when I have to go to other buildings now so that I have my keys and other essentials with me in case it ever happens again. Can't imagine being in a really high building during a quake. Especially one the size you guys keep talking about. Hoping the GLP effect takes on this one!

yeah a lot of the big buildings are built on rollers these days, so they move with the motion. i've never been in one of those buildings during an earthquake, but apparently it's a pretty weird sensation.

When I say "possible" that means a 30% risk.
When I say "expected" that means a 50% risk.
When I say "likely" that means a 70% risk.

Re: Sharks off the California Coast - Could it Predict an Earthquake?
So I am confused as to why animals like sea lions or sharks would come close to where an earthquake was about to happen. It would seem they would want to get as far away as possible, not go towards it. Unless there is going to be massive earthquake out in the ocean. Does anyone have any good articles or info on how sea animals react prior to earthquaks or tsunamis?

I guess my test was affirmative. I will hate when I get this certain headache from now on. That was less than 24 hours from the string of 7+ quakes. Now I know I am in tune to something that I cannot tell where but.....an approx. timelime of major quakage.
Thank you "The Girl" for responding to my headache complaint! I remember kind people forever......You qualified! It doesnt take much to be kind....but some sure act like it is a big deal to be nice.....ugh!!
Hate to know I died of nutt'n.
