440W and 65S
White poles, with RFID detectors on them.
I didn't know what they were but i did some digging and found this site

Only thing is there are no TOLL roads in TN.
Anyone have these in their area? |

I wonder if this is the same thing. |

We have the solar ones, i think those are emergency phones. These have no solar, they are just a plain white pole with the RFID detector about 15 feet up. If these are for the RFID bracelets for H1N1 vaccine, we are in trouble. |

I'm getting pictures tonight on my way home. I saw them yesterday, really looked at them this morning and tried to figure out what they were today. When i found that website with pictures i nearly flipped out. |

There is no phone on these or at least nothing that can be reached without a lift and these "readers" for lack of a better term are approx 15 to 20 ft off the ground. |

I went to TDOT
Tennessee Dept of transportation and did a search for RFID. If they are doing a project, it should be on their site.
This is what i got back

Anonymous Coward User ID: 726572 10/7/2009 3:10 PM | | Re: URGENT>>RFID H1N1 Detection units being set up on TN interstates | Quote | This summer, an Iowa road work crew was working on South Dakota highways, and you gotta wonder what the hell another states working crew would be doing working on our roads. They were cutting huge grooves into the roads, where they placed these grayish sea green colored cylinders in the roads, then repaving and smoothing the roads. Really makes me curious what they are. And I can't find any info on them.
Back when we lived in MN, on I90 a nd I35, they were putting something in the roads, and solar powered boxes on posts were put along the interstates.
When learning about technology to disable a moving vehicle, I've often wondered if these are to ensure that no one gets anywhere, especially during a time of Martial Law. |

Using RFID to Monitor the Temperature of Drugs
In this PowerPoint presentation with audio, recorded at RFID Journal LIVE! 2009, David Ulrich, QA Director at Abbott, explains how RF temperature monitors and an RF network infrastructure were used to automatically capture data.
Abbott Labs recently completed tests intended to prove the efficiency and accuracy of tracking temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products from manufacturing through distribution to an overseas warehouse.
In this PowerPoint presentation with audio, recorded at RFID Journal LIVE! 2009, David Ulrich, QA Director at Abbott, explains how RF temperature monitors and an RF network infrastructure were used to automatically capture data.
You will learn how the technology compares to existing temperature-monitoring techniques, why Abbott undertook the project, the scope of the work performed and the results.

 | | Re: URGENT>>RFID H1N1 Detection units being set up on TN interstates | Quote | From the rfiid1984 website:
"An inquiry to the Texas Department of Transportation produced this reply:
The units are Smart Sensors manufactured by Wavetronix. The Smart Sensor is a digital wave radar used for vehicle detection. The Smart Sensor measures vehicle volume, occupancy, speed and classification. The information gathered is NOT used for law enforcement purposes. We use the information to generate the speed map shown on our web site and to generate the travel times displayed on the dynamic message signs on the freeways."
Now, the idea of TPTB being able to remotely figure out how many people are in my car is a bit unsettling, but could it just be that the department of transportation is trying to get an idea of what kind of traffic is on the road? I mean really, I've seen TDOT (Tennessee Department Of Transportation) cars before, this would just be an automated way of doing things like the old rubber hose across the road.
I think it's a bit of a strech to say that its to track people who have RFID chips injected in them from an Orwellian vaccine.
