They are setting up poles all over Nashville tonight. They are freaking everywhere, on every exit. They have been working on this all day. WTF is going on!!!!!!!!!!

Back when we lived in MN, on I90 a nd I35, they were putting something in the roads, and solar powered boxes on posts were put along the interstates.

When learning about technology to disable a moving vehicle, I've often wondered if these are to ensure that no one gets anywhere, especially during a time of Martial Law.

Nebraska did that about five years ago all along I70 from Ogalalla to Omaha. Never did find out why or what they are. They go on for dozens of miles at any given stretch.

I live in Tennessee and work for a company that actually bid on putting up these poles. The plan for the poles is a statewide camera network that will also act as speed detection/detterents. No more need for Staties to hide in the bushes, they'll just snap your speed with the radar/laser gun on the pole, snap a pic of your license plate as you zoom by and mail you your ticket!

We have the solar ones, i think those are emergency phones. These have no solar, they are just a plain white pole with the RFID detector about 15 feet up. If these are for the RFID bracelets for H1N1 vaccine, we are in trouble.

If those are the solar poles, they are not the ones I'm speaking of. these are RFID sensor like they use for toll booths. Different animal all together. We've had the solar ones for months now. These have just gone up in the last 3 days.
