this vid from that thread is VERY interesting. the magma chamber is KNOWN to be filling, yet there is NO uplift around the caldera. Yellowstone BREATHES, rising up and down periodically. the fact there is NO uplift at Toba tells me the magma chamber is PRESSURISING. I am not convinced by the scientist's reassurances that nothing will happen. anyway, his measurements were taken between 1993 and 2001, 3 years BEFORE this recent activity started.

According to geologists, it is these three volcanoes that are active and are in threat of eruption.
Marapi, Talang and Tandikat
Krakatau was a volcano very similar to those three before Krakatau blew sky high.
Merapi: Gunung Merapi translates as Mountain of Fire.

In the past, Mount Talang has shown weakness to earthquakes in the local Sumatra area. Meaning Mount Talang often erupts after a series of moderate to strong earthquakes in the region.
Tandikat: A twin volcano with Mount Singgalang located NNE of Mount Tandikat.

It has been found that: (1) Earthquakes occur frequently around the minimum years of solar activity.
We are in a deep solar minimum at the moment but this has been covered up by counting features as sunspots which would not have been counted in the past.

This is a fictional short story. It tells what the World would be like if Toba, the Worlds largest Super-Volcano, were to violent erupt.
October 25th 2009. It is a typical day, the Stock Markets are in a dive again but nothing really serious. Iranian leader gave a speech stating their countries nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only and denied Israels claims. Russia is expressing concern and warns Israel not to strike. China remains quiet until sanctions are presented to the UN.
12:41 EST - GLP Thread titled "BREAKING - 8.6 Mag Earthquake Sumatra Just NOW!!!" The quake was felt as far away as Hiroshima, Japan. Officials aren't sure if a tsunami was generated or not.
At 12:57 EST, FOX NEWS reported a loud rumble sound in Thailand coming from the south. Residents of Chiang Mai, Thailand feared a Chinese attack to the south due to an orange glow that appeared deep into the southern horizon. Sounds of fighter aircraft are occasionally heard from their afterburn take off from the base nearby, said local resident Mao Ling. She hopes it is nothing too serious as she fears for her Mothers safety in Bangkok.
13:21 EST reports of a distress call from the Office of Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister Singapore about a sudden nuclear explosion or volcanic eruption to their west in Sumatra. Communications are down at this time so no more information is available. Scientist say there probably has been a minor-moderate eruption of a local volcano and has knocked out a communications center. There is no need to be alarmed said Geologist Randy Marsh from South Park Colorado. The White House has not said anything about the issue of a possible nuclear explosion except that it is, "Highly unlikely..."
So far no one has been able to reach Sumatra and parts of Western Malaysia through any means of communication. People begin to fear a nuclear explosion HAS happened as there was an EMP blast that destroyed all communications in the area.
An Astrologer on Twitter is claiming a large rock just hit the Earth near the coast of Western Sumatra. Rumors of an Earth impact race across the internet and conspiracy sites are dreading the worst case scenario from meteors, nukes to super volcanoes. Few people believe it is possible Toba the super volcano has just erupted. However, no one is officially claiming this true since the last major eruption was over 70,000 years ago. Most people believe a terrorist, North Korean or Iranian nuke has been set off in Sumatra.
14:15 EST - Breaking News on CNN reports a news agency, JNW SriLanka News, aired images of the Indian Ocean to the East from the shores of Batticaloa. The Ocean line seemed to be much higher then normal with an ominous deep orange glow radiating from the area. Memories of the 2004 Tsunami quickly raised panic as people flee to the highest points they can find. Minutes later the ocean disappeared said local authorities and a low rumble can be heard off to the east. It becomes obvious a tsunami is about to hit Sri Lanka so other coastal Nations in the area are warned of a possible tsunami. All communications to Sri Lanka have been lost since the last report. The world begins to pick up on this breaking story and is now aired on every major news network, However, the tone of the story is calm and leaders are issuing reassurances that this is probably a minor event.
Now theories of Tobas eruption are coming together. Although few people argue a nuke could have been used to repeat the 2004 tsunami as a terroristic attack.
15:05 EST - Breaking News - Chinese Officials report the Caldera Toba has violently erupted and a tsunami has been generated. The tsunami is estimated to be 1,200 meters high. The speaker Shaun Rein appeared to be nervous and had difficulty repeating the words that were typed out before him. The shockwave was received and recorded at 08:03:29 UTC and was off the charts. The rumbling was so loud local chinese could not hear each other screaming out of fear. It was as if there was only one sound in the world and it was a low, deep booming sound that grabbed the people deep in their hearts. Panic begins to show in major cities around the globe. People are rushing to gas stations, atm's and local grocery stores. Traffic in many urban areas has come to a grinding halt.
16:30EST/09:30UTC - The World tumbles into chaos. The areas where communications are lost include but not limited to Sumatra, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Eastern India, Burma, Cambodia, Southern Thailand and South Vietnam. Satellite photographs reveal a massive plum of black ash with a cherry red center right where Toba would rest. The ash cloud is 1,354 km in diameter and growing.
16:44EST/09:44UTC - Pakistan mistakes a chunk of rock reentering from the eruption as an Indian MRBM and retaliates quickly with three nuclear warheads. It is not clear if Pakistan truly misunderstood the reentry data or if they used a moment of opportunity to strike their neighbor India while they were facing a crisis of their own. Israel soon realized theire ability to protect themselves with sophisticated weapons would not exist in days to come from the large amounts of ash in the air. Yet, missiles are still able to fly. So Israel decided they had no choice but to bomb the Iranian nuclear facilities. Russia, China and the US condemn both Israel and Pakistan but do not resort to the use of military force.
23:02EST/16:02UTC - The US West coast has been hit with a 120m tsunami destroying everything in it's path. The nation braces for the disaster as best they can. Ironically, Martial Law hasn't been declared yet. Just as Katrina was overwhelming, so is this disaster and the government is paralyzed in bureaucracy. Americans and other parts of the world watch in horor on tv just as they did on 9/11/01.
October 26th 03:00 - Florida is inundated with a 450m tsunami wave. Only small sections of FLorida are expected to be ok. The US east coast shorelines are ghost towns except for a few looters and bums with a few crazy surfers in the water.
Days later the skies are dim with only 64% of the Sun light making it through the ash cover. Tsunamis rage across the globe with no sign of ending for the next few weeks.
Highways going west are jam packed with abandoned cars and debris scattered all over. A large herd of People quickly walking and running as far west as they can. The fear in peoples faces is unreal. Several children are crying with out a parent around, lost and don't know what to do.
All airports are at full capacity and are placing as many people as they can onboard airliners as fast as they can. Ironically, in the time of disaster, the airports are doing a fantastic job at efficiently fly masses of people miles inland.
All power goes out in all east coast cities due to Nuclear Plants shutting down to prevent meltdowns when the tsunami arrives. It normally should be a quiet early morning yet there is a general rumble of chatter and screams about the air. Since the cities aren't glowing their light, the light pollution has dropped and the sky presents a display of stars nearly everyone hasn't seen in their lifetimes. There is a deathly feel in the air. People know there will be a wall of water soon. Killing everything in it's path.
One year later, small communities scattered across the country side begin to stablize their new lifestyle. Farms pop up and men go to work building furnature, carrages and other forested products. Deer begin to populate the woods well. Life is calming down. The massive areas of death and rot from the flood created an overpopulation of beetles that swarmed the sky and tortured many people for months until they ate all they could. The winter months helped keep the swarms to a minimum. Rarely, a US fighter jet can be seen but no contact with the government has been made yet. The skies are dark and the days are cold. Many foods won't grow except for potatoes and other shady vegetables.

So, why do I just tell you that Taal in the Philippines will "probably" erupt in even greater measure than Pinatubo? Because if Pinatubo relieves enough undersurface pressure, Taal may settle. However, the facts are if you generalize the entire fissure system running through these islands, you will find that the volcano system is about to blow itself into eternity. If we wished to terrify and spectacularize we COULD tell you that you can expect the entire continent of Mu to rise from the series of activities in the volcano/rift. But you see, I would have told you nothing--for some day the old continent of Lemuria/Mu will rise and the present islands will mostly be underwater--so, I would have told you NOTHING! If you get informed regarding that which is presented--you can begin to fit your own VALID picture into focus and not totally depend on magic for your answers.
This is also why we urge you to become prepared for changes and arrange protection for earth changes and Man-caused disasters, even unto nuclear fallout--because the probabilities are that at some time here in your own lifetime you will need it. You only desire the "WHEN" so that you need do nothing until the last minute and then possibly fail to act in time, i.e., "I will stay in the market and maybe make another 2% on my investment"--when the probability of losing every last cent you have is far more likely. NOW is the time to take action--in both above examples! The world WILL change and the ECONOMY WILL COLLAPSE--it cannot continue in it false shroud of lies. I know volcanic eruptions do. Would these earthquakes be a good thing, releasing any tension that would cause an eventual quake or eruption to be catastrophic? Or are they a harbinger of things to come?
