ALERT - Toba Super Volcano, New Intense Swarm Starts Again - NOV 9 - UPDATE PG 17

your theory is highly interesting and plausible..(not so sure about the tsunami part, but the rest makes great sense.)
keep up the good work...
this one might have some legs to it. |

Interesting post, but you can extrapolate a 'trend' from any two data points. If there is a third earthquake that fits your theory, then... DOOM!
Until then, just an interesting coincidence. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 728223 (OP) 10/8/2009 3:34 AM | | Re: ALERT - Toba Super Volcano, New Intense Swarm Starts Again - NOV 9 - UPDATE PG 17 | Quote | Well, the reason I fear the tsunami is this...
A strong thrusting earthquake can generate a strong tsunami. All that is needed is a quick displacement of a mass of water.
If the explosion were large enough to displace a sizeable amount of ocean, then we have a tsunami. Krakatoa created a monster tsunami and that explosion was on land, but I suppose it could have been landslide.

Whether you are wrong or right isn't important.
But the fact you choose to put ALERT - Extinction Level Event is a little disturbing.
Like you are not trying to warn people you just want to scare them. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 769898
If you are easily scared, I suggest you stay FAR away from GLP.
Or should I place a disclaimer for the weak hearted to leave the thread?
I am not trying to scare anyone as I clearly stated I may be wrong and we're on grounds of science that isn't clearly answered. But the few facts we have ARE alarming.
If the surge of numerous quakes in the region doesn't alarm you, then my title shouldn't either. |

I believe it will come sooner than the Nov 18th date.
The formula is sound and the math is fine, but the arrival date assumes a constant rate of travel(velocity).
The more volume of magma that gets squeezed upward, well doesn't that sorta work like a garden sprayer??!!!
I think velocity would increase! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 567074
Exactly.
Get ready everyone, be safe and prepare for what's coming. It will totally change the foundation our planet is built on.
It is time for a new era of humanity to begin. |

The recent two deep earthquakes near the Philippines are really alarming. Especially since the second one in the same location. The odds of these two quakes being seperate from each other are near zero. So, what is going on? Is there a large body of thick molten magma rising with the consitency of soft plastic? Could very well be just that as typical friction and tension quakes do not occur at that depth, not even close.
Today there was a 6.7 at 582.8 km deep. Same place as the 630.5 km quake on the 4th 3 days ago.
It is the same location. So lets figure this. If there is something happening and is coming towards the surface, it travelled exactly 630.5km to 582.8km with a difference of 47.7km. The dates were October 4th 2009 10:58UTC and October 7th 2009 21:45UTC with a difference of 82 hours and 47 minutes.
So far the travel speed is 0.576 Km/hr.
At this rate, the event might reach the surface in 1,011 hours or at about 42 days. The date is November 18th 2009.
It may be a few days ahead or a few days behind but if anything is travelling towards the surface, it would be catastrophic. Real Global Doom everyone.
I do not support craaazy GLP babble predictions as there are millions of them. But this date has facts behind it. I may be wrong, I'de rather be wrong but the details show us something deep and deadly rising. Quoting: ºCRAPº
Your thinking is right, but your calculations are wrong.
Tomorrow, you will see. |

Look where all these quakes and storms, taifuns etc are occuring.. Under the ocean is land. Islands are simply only the tops of underwater landmasses and mountains.
It is sunken countries which rise up again.
maybe atlantis or something that big is coming up.
when "new" land is appearing it also means that old ones will sink.
I watch it under that aspect. |

I'm going to do some deep investigating today. I read a long paper about earth tremors below 450km. It was very interesting. That is how I know about tremors that deep and why they can't be typical earthquakes we are mostly familiar with.
Later today I'll have a write up report. And I will say this, I will not hold a doom bias. That is, regardless of the event I will report the truth. So if I learn this is a non-event or a minor eruption potential, I'll report it as such.
One thing I can't stand is people altering the truth to fit their own agenda.
