Interesting that you mention the Vatican Lotus because the Vatican has come out and said that it's 'okay' to believe in extraterrestrial life and that 'they' (Ets) may not need redemption:

Re: Astrology and The BibleQuote

By the way AC 431716 . . . astrology is NOT divination. Please do get your definitions 'straight' before pointing fingers.

Divination attempts to foretell the future, acquire esoteric knowledge (et al), via whatever means.
Astrology is a form of divination: Astrologers aren't just admiring the sky, and they're not astronomers (engaged in scientific sudy). If astrologers didn't engage in divination, the general public wouldn't give a hoot about astrology.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 523930

well played! The stars existed, constellations existed, even the mazzeroth existed, before Semiramis introduced false divination and false religion. Sure, the heavens declare the glory of God but man extracting that glory for his own use and twisting the information from it is a satanic perversion. God created stars. Satan created astrology. If the ancient astrologers were so smart, why could they not interpret? why was Daniel ten times smarter than all the enchanters in Pharaoh's court?

Daniel 2: So the king summoned the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers to tell him what he had dreamed. When they came in and stood before the king,... Then the astrologers answered the king in Aramaic, "O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will interpret it."...[The king refuse to state the dream, saying if they were so smart, they should tell HIM!] The astrologers answered the king, "There is not a man on earth who can do what the king asks! No king, however great and mighty, has ever asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or astrologer....Moreover, the thing which the king demands is difficult, and there is no one else who could declare it to the king except gods, whose dwelling place is not with mortal flesh.”

Oh, yeah? Because astrologers are FAKE! Only Daniel, of God, could answer because GOD not the stars gave the answer, God created the question!

During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven...As for every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king consulted them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and conjurers who were in all his realm.

Astrology is fake and of satan, no matter how deep the OP goes down the rabbit hole, it is still quicksand.

Zec 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Psa 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, [and] all the nations that forget God.

STOCK UP NOW. You should have at least 6 months worth of basics for every member of your household. Stay away from crowds when trouble starts, do not forget water storage, tobaccos worth more than gold or silver, and be kind to hungry children.

My heart goes out to you religious fundamentalists. Really.

Dread,

Just so you know, I didn't write that article, but thought it was well written/ researched and wanted feedback on the material. I never thought doing so would essentially bring out the 'lynch mob'. Lol

I'm often left to wonder 'why' many in humanity simply 'cannot' or 'will' not attempt at thinking 'outside the box'.

And for the 'Record' . . . I am a Christian; thankfully one who chooses to investigate/ research and keep an open mind. I know that God did not create me to just sit and be spoon-fed by another human being what I should think and feel with regard to Him or the Christed One (Jesus); I allow God and Christ to lead me to that which He wants me to discover, and not other 'human beings' such as myself. hf

Good for you! That's the way it's supposed to be. That's part of the Creator's design and plan.

Exactly Full Circle. hf

I believe it could be that most don't realize that they don't need a 'religion' in order to learn about or connect with God; that spirituality is a very personal/individualistic growth process and connection with God. I don't feel anyone should allow themselves to be 'dictated to' on how to interact, approach, or connect with our God/ Creator . . . that just seems very unnatural to me. In addition, I wish people would realize that God is literally 'everywhere' and not only in churches/ temples/ etc.

Re: Astrology and The BibleQuote

Anyway. Back to the topic....

I figure man's use of celestial alignments tracked the cycles that we go through. I think we have a set amount of time between these cycles to gain as much understanding of the "bigger things" as we can.

And this cycle is coming to it's end.

well I agree it was a good attempt at logic. However, those who follow astrology hate to be told they are sinning because they don't want to be accountable for their behavior and think they can escape by denying the existence of their judge. Such a one can not be influenced by logical debate because his position is an emotional one.

By the same token, what is logical about a man who said He is God and died on the cross and yet lives? That is not logical, and there is no explaining it except to let the Holy Spirit convict of sin and then take that step of faith. We walk by faith and not by sight.

If you mean thinking outside the box means thinking outside the bible and accepting any or all philosophies as valid, then that is a different discussion. As for me, I did think outside the box for 44 years. I traveled the world, studied widely, tried different religions. None satisfied. I "kept learning yet never able to come to knowledge of the truth," (2 Timothy 3) till a few years ago. The greatest mystery is one that you posed: wondering WHY the wide gulf between the believer and the unbeliever.Because once a person believes, the Holy Spirit takes off the blinders and we KNOW the truth. An unbeliever is blind but worse, does not know he is. The certainty you sense in Christians is the truth. Once you know the truth, you do not need lies anymore. This is something the unbeliever will never understand when they are outside Christ.

it's like I am in a car with a blind person who is driving. I say, stop, there's a concrete abutment ahead. The driver says, "I don't see it so therefore I don't believe you." But he crashes just the same.

I apologize if I was part of the mob you feel lynched by...I did one-star you but I erased the BS flag I was going to raise, lol. If otherwise I offended, I'm sorry. But the truth is offensive to people who are lost and perishing, as much as there is love within the saved to beg that you not perish...
