How would you know if a private detective was following you?

they usualy follow you around if a divorce is going down and the parter wants out of having to pay alimony. if you are getting a divorce try settle it amoing your self. but get legal advice and settle it on paper.. but if a lot of assets are involved then get a asset search done to discover hidden assets even in other states that your partner does not want you to know about.. then be fair cause divorce attorney handling large estates will rape your assets while getting you to divorce court . huge lawyer fees will destroy the assets .....happens all the time.. work out a fair settlement after assets are totaled up between your selfs ..be willing to bend on some issues..then be divorced an go on with your life .. with as much asset in tact as possible.. get it signed agreement on paper at lawyers office . then present it to judge . at divorce hearing .. .

it is expensive to have someone physically follow you. a gps transmitter on your car or phone is not.

i would seriously consider hiring a PI for counter intelligence, change your patterns, catch rides with trusted friends, buy a pre pay, pay as you go cell phone, have a friend do this for you

I just dealt with that..first thing I did was have my car inspected for hidden GPS units at a local garage.

Otherwise you follow defensive driving techniques to sus them out (google how to do this)...unless they are using three/four cars you will be able to catch them out. To detect four cars you should use a scanner to catch their transmissions to each other as they jump ahead and fall behind to avoid detection. At the rate PIs charge it is likely you only have one car at the most two unless the person paying them is very wealthy.

phone all the private detectives in your local area and ask them if they will do a job for you. the one who says no is working for someone else and is following you.

Depending upon what is going on in your life (insurance claim/domestic issue), you might be followed, but typically it will be by one or two people at most (any more than that creates way too much of a scene).

There are several techniques for countersurveillance (my company goes over this) with 10 years of experience in the field, most investigators use the same techniques...

one tip for you though drive slow... (substantially slower than normal traffic...) it is real hard to follow someone...

GPS on cars only exists on domestic cases....(where they can get access to your vehicle)

Actually, I do the opposite now, help out people who file claims. Its sort of a insurance policy for those that file claims to make sure they are aware of investigators techniques... you would be amazed of how dirty the claim process has become.

Regarding the remarks about how dirty the filing of claims is. It is just as dirty on the other side, looking for any way whatsoever to deny a really serious truthful claim.

My hubby had been in an accident and had really serious back problems out of it. I noticed a photographers around our place, country location, but did not concern me too much as niether of us was doing anything that would be contrary because we both could not.

In the end, pictures were taken of my husband feeding our horses and emus. Because our daughter-in-law was NOT doing what she and his son were supposed to do for us in exchange for living in a trailer here for free to help us, Jim had to pick up some boxes and move them closer to the fence of the pasture.

These pictures were shown at a hearing. These were the only 'evidence' that he was faking, nothing else. The boxes that he was moving. They were boxes of bread. there were no more than 10 loafs of bread in them and while he was being filmed, he had to go sit down in between, none of this was mentioned. That was the strong evidence? It was a load of nothing to see here folks, move along. No water skiing, no boating even, no golf, no horseback riding, no weight lifting, no anything.

We did get paid but limited to the low insurance of the offending party who rear ended us as we were sitting thtir position at a stop light.

I know exactly what you are talking about. PI's are sneaky, and are great liars to get info from your neighbors.

That's why im working for myself now, my vision is a company that offers countermeasures for investigations + go after the evidence if and when the PI's collect it.

There are lots of mom and pop investigative companies, but must insurance companies use national investigation companies (which through numerous sales and mergers) have left with about 15 national investigation companies. They use all of the same techniques, not hard to find out if they are investigating you...

typical photo evidence is not usable in court anymore, needs to be video.

You will only know when the incriminating photos land on your desk.

Change your routine CONSTANTLY! Do NOT hang out in public places. EVEN YOUR OWN HOME you can be photographed from outside (across street, apartments, whatever) if they are shooting what can be seen from outside/off your property.

Never be afraid to talk to EVERYONE/QUESTION EVERYONE...learn about body language and speech tones/patterns and see how they react.

In other words, take the ball and run with it...be IN CONTROL at all times. Be aware of your surroundings. Remember..do things randomly...never follow a pattern and meet anyone and everyone you see around you.
