In the opera category, my favorite is the tenor duet from Bizet's 'Pearl Fishers'. Glorious music.

Here's a great version, with subtitles beginning about 1 minute in, when the duet proper begins. The storyline is also excellent -- this has to be the only opera ever written that takes place in a temple in India, with the brahmans lighting lamps to prepare for the Goddess's arrival.

We played this as the processional at my wedding. Goddess for a day....
