Once at my old house my brother had installed a phone secretly in his room and didn't let anyone know. So every time the phone rang, the internet would die. It took a bit to figure out.. no. sadly I live alone. but I have company over all the time. no secret phones here. all my phone lines have the filter thingy connected |

Quoting: Just A Thoughthmm. the phone in question is not cordless. but it did at one time have a companion cordless phone. it was one of those answering machine/wired phone/cordless phone setups. but I lost the cordless phone. I can't remember if the phone line had to be plugged into the cordless phone charger or not. |

Allan User ID: 941274 United States 04/12/2010 04:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Even if you are not using a cordless phone, it you have a cordless phone base connected somewhere in your home, it is probably broadcasting on the same frequency as your wireless router. Check the manual for your router for instructions on changing your router's frequency. Some companies also have a 24 hour help line that can walk you through the process. I had the same problem up until today. I already knew how to change the frequency, but I did not realize this was the problem until I read this blog. |
