True in part, except that the incidence rate is worse than Australia. All things being equal, the rate in their flu season and ours should be similar. ... or Canada's (no FluMist) with the USA. Spot on point, Lily, but you are debating with the uneducated here. If Jeremy doesn't understand that the flu mist (nasal) contains the live virus, and the live virus LIVES for up to 21 days making the one carrying it (the newly vaccinated) contagious, then all other info given to him will go straight over his head. . |

Exactly, even the manufacturer admits that that 2.5% of the recipients will spread the vaccine from the mist. That's using the developer's own numbers, which are always more conservative and on the low end of what's likely in the bell curve. |

I really think we as citizens need to push our representatives into changing laws that is protecting the patient. If a vaccine causes complications or someone's death (and it is proven), then the big pharma needs to compensate. I am not saying they compensate with millions, but some sort of compensation should go to the family. I am sorry but the laws need to be CHANGED. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 800646 United States 10/23/2009 02:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I just got into a disagreement this morning about this point. He's telling me that I'm spreading a failed conspiracy, and all I'm saying is that I'm away it's now the flu season. I can account for that. However, the manufacturer admits FluMist can spread the virus AND epidemic rates should be similar in Canada and USA, all other things being equal (actually, Canada should probably be a bit higher because of the latitude) so if the USA is higher then it could be the FluMist. Quoting: LilyMy friend took the nasal spray; nobody could explain why both of her granddaughters came down with 'flu just days apart. No reason for the girls to be sick. One had been home for several days because she broke her arm playing soccer...Granny took care of her. I wonder if Granny was the culprit? |
