Windows 7 begins to release to the public across the world!
|
Here we go on with the media n User ID: 772633 10/21/2009 7:51 PM Report abusive post | Windows 7 begins to release to the public across the world!
| Quote |
Right now, it's October 22nd in some parts of the world, and Microsoft has begun releasing Windows 7 across the world at various launch parties and events. In New Zealand, Microsoft held events in Auckland and Wellington to promote the launch of Windows 7 by gathering a crowd and making a big Windows 7 logo with them.
Windows 7, is available worldwide today to the general public, whereas before now it has only been available to technet/msdn subscribers, as well as VLK owners and university students around the globe. Windows 7 had the largest beta testing process in the history of Windows release cycles, with well over 8 million copies of the public beta being downloaded in 3 months.
In May, Microsoft made the Release Candidate, Build "7100", available to the public through until August 20, stating that this version of Windows 7 would be free for "six months" if you continued to use the RC until it expired. This build had over 100 fixes and tweaks that Microsoft had provided thanks to testers feedback. On August 6, Microsoft made available the RTM code, Build "7600", of Windows 7 to Technet/MSDN users, and general availabilty on October 22 marks the final phase of Windows 7's release - after 3 years of development and testing, which was heavily user driven.
From today, Windows 7 will be available from retailers around the world, as well as online stores such as Amazon.

Oh well it's better then Vista, that's for sure... "I don't know which was scarier...the speech...or the Congress cheering it. He evoked Lincoln. Whenever a President is going to get us into serious trouble...they always use Lincoln."

The corrected and debugged version of what they SHOULD have issued in the first place, except they were so far behind schedule they rushed a POS to market just to get SOMETHING out there, and made themselves look like an even BIGGER bunch of incompetant losers than they did to begin with! |

Many veneers and many facades later, Microsoft releases this trite.
Whether their motive bear intellectual honesty is suspect at best, especially with the relative ease vista has become the shadow operating system as Windows 7 has been brought to the foremost front to the minds of the consumers.
In my personal realm of goings on, upgrading your personal computer has become a yearly chore if you wish to utilize the continual pipeline of new feature sets from various software industries.
In times forgone, one would simply build, upgrade, or purchase a new computer every 3-5 years. Now, at such a time as this, vendors release incremental software features that at times require the end user to re-think his or hers computing desires if they wish to use dated or legacy hardware.
My viewpoint on the matter is rather dimmed. I am not pleased with the Microsoft's software releases. They, at best, are feeble attempts to appease the consumer populace, fleece vendors, and offer nearly unconquerable competition to small business.
In the end, this release is met with apathy by me. There far more dire matters that are require our full attention then the release of an operating system. Such as the destruction of civilization and coming of an established Globist Occult World Order. With the Master Craft wielder as its head.

It's the same thing, they say its tied to your motherboard..but its easy to fix if you change boards or whatever..just call them up and say you need a new key..they dont ask questions..do it all the time with xp and vista machines. |

Exactly!! I am sick of the Windows 7 is better tards - it's just Vista.
My Vista is flawless, never crashes on both a laptop AND desktop.
Sounds like the haters just don't know much about PCs, Operating Systems and hardware configuration... |

If you choose to accept their upgrade, create a new partition for Win 7 and keep whatever you're currently running on a separate partition. You'll be glad you did. |

He's probably talking about this:
"
How to receive your Windows 7 upgrade
If you bought a qualifying PC
The upgrade fulfillment method may vary by PC manufacturer. When you buy a qualifying PC from a PC manufacturer that has chosen to participate in the Windows 7 Upgrade Option Program, you'll generally need to fill in a form and follow a few steps to order your upgrade copy of Windows 7. Look for a form with redemption details in the packaging that came with your PC. If you bought a qualifying PC and can't find out how to get the upgrade, please check on the PC manufacturer's web site.

Which increases my legitimacy regarding my prior remarks about the contention of Windows 7's operability. |

I still however cannot see a need to upgrade from XP. XP with Office 2007 does everything I need. I have looked over the features a few times over the last 12 months, and I still don't see a compelling need to upgrade. For me, if it aint broke don't fix it.
It aint broke, and it's doing just fine on XP. Windows 7 has bells and whistles, but I don't really feel like paying a few hundred bucks to just go wow every now and then at something cute. |
