Hey people, pretty shocking stuff, huge numbers for sure and i don't doubt them. However the issue here regarding the size of the numbers for the US & UK is the definition of "missing". Does this mean gone missing for good or long periods or for a period of time not being with there designated carer? The later definition would include kids skipping school. Something to look into.
However the numbers for nations such as India are not known, but are thought to be huge. I congratulate the OP for bringing this issue up,great find. I strongly agree that this issue must be taken a lot more seriously by governments.

Elizabeth has been missing since approximately 6:15 pm Wednesday night (10/21). She was last seen at 6:15 pm on Wednesday when she left a friend's home. She was to walk one quarter mile to her home but never arrived. The area in which she disappeared is Route D west of Jefferson City, MO.
