According to the writings of Thrice Great Hermes, God is neither male or female, he is both. God is androgynous.

To back this up with science, let's go to Biological Taxonomy.

When you classify an animals....let's say dogs and cats, they are classified in a hierarchical manner. So all dogs and cats are mammals, but not all mammals are dogs and cats. Therefore, mammals are a higher classification than dogs and cats. More specifically, the characteristics of all dogs and cats are the characteristics of mammals, but not vice versa.

Now, humans are not God. Humans were made by God, thus are of a lower classification than God. Males and Females are types of humans, but they still both came from God. Therefore, both masculine and feminine are characteristics of God, (Androgynous) because of the very fact that we have those characteristics. For the most part, we don't have any characteristics that God doesn't have, because we were made by him, in his image.

The reason God is referred to as HE, in my opinion, is because of the curse of Eve.

I completely agree with this also. The thing is, humans have two hemispheres, each connecting them to concepts of God. The male, and female. God does not actually exist in respect of the sexes, but manifest the sexes as the creative polarities of the universe. Chaos of opposites equals creation.

The feminine has long been repressed and is now manifesting itself in sites like GLP (though you wouldn't think it). Art, psychic abilites and compassion are all side effects of the return of the divine feminine.

If you really believe that God is male, while he created males and females, then you have been so manipulated...

Ask yourself, do you really think that God is just male?

Why is Jesus allowed to sit on HIS throne, but not his mother Mary?

Why is Jesus`s Father somehow the most powerfull being in existence, because he created all of this, but his mother Mary is just a normal human?

Your interior world is mirrored in the outside world, if you have such a bad view of woman, then you only attract woman that mirror your view.

My male and female energys are very balanced, I integrated the best traits of both sides.

I know alot of women who are very compassionate and loving and your stupid example holds no weight, as if men don`t fight with each other, everyone has arguments sometimes.

But as I can see and feel that you are a very male polarized person, it is no wonder to me, that you cannot get along with women.
And I can also understand why women obviously cannot get along with you aswell.

If you don`t show respect to women and see them as equal, how can you exspect them to show respect to you...

It would be difficult for Christians to portray God as female given the fact that "his word" seems to discriminate against women. Here are a few examples from the KJV:

1 Timothy 2:11-15:

“Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.”

The above scripture seems to preclude women from the ministry since teaching of necessity is part of any ministry. This scripture also precludes woman from supervising or having any type of authority over a male. Finally, the Bible seems to shift the blame of “original sin” to Eve!

1 Timothy 3:1-5:

“This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?.”

The specific language of the these verses implies that the office of bishop is reserved for men only. Further, the provision that a candidate for bishop must be “apt to teach” disqualifies women by virtue of 1 Timothy 2:11-15, quoted above. Clearly, woman cannot have positions of influence within the church as they are not allowed to teach or to usurp authority over men.

1 Corinthians 14:34, 35:

“Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.”

This scripture is rather direct and unambiguous. There is very little wiggle room for interpreting these verses in a way that allows women into the ministry or permits them to participate in church services. Women are second class citizens who are supposed to listen to their husbands and keep their mouths shut (at least in church).

I am not a Bible believing Christian; however, It is my opinion that the Bible does not place men and women on equal footing. Given the inferior status of women in the Bible, Christians cannot portray their God as female.

I have not referenced the many Bible verses which treat woman as chattel in matters relating to sex, marriage and divorce. It is enough to shows that where the church itself is concerned, woman have no say.

Good post Professor, while I maybe can understand why men are feeling good with following the christian religion, if they search for some food for their ego and try to self empower themselves over others, I cannot understand how women can believe in the bible, while it portrays them as less worthy than men.

Did you know that when you question why people call God Father that you reveal that you come from a cultural tradition of the Single Mother? All you reveal is that a King used to sex your ancient mother, but not marry her.
