"Modem" as in dial-up, I presume? (Only copper landlines are ubiquitous in the U.S., and most are still not provisioned for DSL.) How does that square with "high speed Internet"? |

Not a phone pole in sight.
They do all have ugly green utility boxes in their front yards, which many try to hide with ornamental grasses. |
