How many here actually saw a census worker this year? I didn't..and I don't think anyone I know "PERSONALLY" met or spoke with anyone either. Maybe it was on certain areas or areas skipped previously?

I know someone who is working for the Census next year and they have worked a couple of weeks already. He said it was to chart locations they may not have and that people were to get every place where someone lived on the handheld device. He bragged they are going down every dirt road and pig trail in the county making sure everybody is listed. Then next year the Census takers will start and he will then become one of those.
Will ask him more and any questions anyone has. He readily admits each one has the GPS handheld device and they are collecting data for the actual taking of the census count. He seems like a nice, normal person but these days, you just never know. |

I can only imagine just how much one of these will cost...not to mention all the extra personnel who will have to be hired to sit and watch them on the computer and give them directions. And you know, they will probably end up being illegal as the yahoos watching the things will get bored and send them out on missions to gather illicit information (and pictures) which will then be downloaded on the net. And some will be stolen and used by the paparazzi to get the million dollar photo. Then, you will have black market units being sold for corporate espionage. |

I was a little concerned when I read the original post.
But then, I started thinking about the fact that people move so frequently, that any GPS marking that would focus on the inhabitants would be rendered useless once the person moves.
Especially today, with people losing their jobs and ultimately their homes, any targeting would be moot.
So, while it might be interesting to think the gov is targeting people for roundup or some other such black-op.
The reality is probably far more mundane. However, I don't think any dose of reality will change the minds of those who thrive on conspiracies. |

For most addresses you can see the GPS coordinates via Google earth (including the front door). I suppose only for the ones where there's not enough accurate satellite image available, or the door not visible, they need to go and take the reading in person.
I guess this could be used for multiple purposes. They know your phone number and address, this is just an additional piece of info. And just imagine if they wouldn't "like" you for some reason?
They would call you on your landline, "is this Mr. John Smith, from 1313 Pelican Way?" "Yes." "Could you hold on a second, we've got a delivery for you."
The next thing you know, a GPS-guided missile comes in crashing through your roof. "Delivery" confirmed via open telephone line (the person calling will hear the explosion before the call gets cut off.)
Nice and simple. |

I met the census worker and he did take the GPS, spoke with my husband as well. It is odd that they took GPS of the front door and from the front walk. They didn't GPS our barn nor our shop though. |
