There should be something you can do at the state level. State Attorney General maybe? If not, then call the FBI. But if you call the FBI, they'll be there awhile and will likely install some of their own people.

9,000 against 40 or so? The whole town needs to film everything and gets the FBI on it. Every single person thathas been a victim or knows a victim (gather as much evidence as possible. buy cameras and film everything. Mount cameras on the eves of your houses. Build a case, then turn it all in to the FBI and demand an investigation. They will be gone.

Your alternative is the end of Roadhouse.

If there is a class action with 1000s of litagents it can't be ignored.

As was pointed out, there is always someone higher, sheriff and state's attorney.

Sheriff? And the kid needs to make a hospital report or even a doctors visit and record the info-keep it all listed and recorded-best to have more than one place...to record as well.

I'm very, very sorry that these bastards are doing this.

Sheriff is probably not a good option. They often work closely with the PD. Chances are, he too is part of the problems you described, or is looking the other way.
Maybe not, I don't know your local officials, it may not be that way.

Other options are County Attorney (might not want to do anything eith)

City commissioners. Attend a city meeting, and address the issue with them. They are often the ultimate bosses of a department. Find a large number of people who think the same way, and demand that action be taken, or no votes next election. That alone will make them pee their pants.

Problem is, you are going to need PROOF of some kind. It's not enough to simply say "this is what they are doing." You need documentation, video, audio, eyewitness testimony, notarized statements, etc. Without these, you aren't going to stand a chance. Find a way to get evidence of their wrongdoing.

Outside of these options, if nothing happens by then, go outside of their jurisdictional area.

Whatever State you are in Bureau of Investigation
FBI
Attorney General
etc.

I personally never leave the house without a video camera ready to roll, micro. voice recorder and cell phone... pitiful but true.

I have an excellent attorney who is aware of the situation and willing to help with a class action situation... We hired him for a lawsuit against them after our criminal case and he returned our retainer and said we would not be safe in the town if we pursued the case, this was after one visit and an attempt to conduct interviews.

Study bonds. They all are bonded, whose got the bonds? How do you liquidate their bonds for contract violation?

The rabbit hole is deep, but if you go deep enough you will discover how powerful you are!

First you got to take out the corrupt lawyers.

We now have a small alternative paper circulating in our town that I believe will print an ad of this nature, the local bi weekly would NOT, I inquired.

I was thinking about taking one out asking for people to contact me if they have been the victim of local police.

You guys think an email contact would suffice?

I am not too keen about my name being attached to this until we have some traction going and someone willing to give us some media visibility which is the only kind of protection that might work.

I don't know your town so, of course I can't give paticulars.

You need to keep it under the table as long as possible. I would not advertise in any local publication. Word of mouth. You obviously know the kid that got beat up. That family knows a few others, etc...
Lawyers would have ideas.

As another poster pointed out, these 'public servents' are bonded. That is indeed a very deep rabbit hole. Some of the things you will discover are:
Lawyers' first alligence is to the court.
You must think of the police as collectors of fees that keep your town running.
A Judges' alligence is not to the law as you think of it.
You need to think of yourself as a business.

I'm tired and can't explain it as well as I should.

The judges, the public defender, the prosecuting attorney, the local criminal attorneys are all friends, members of the same churches, country club and they KNOW the cops are dirty.

The morning after our incident I called the son of the man that married us... young attorney in town, he said he can't touch this case... asked why he said, I just can't... but I will tell you this and it didn't come from me Chief XXXX has a stack of complaints on his desk against one of these officers and he has no intention of addressing any of them.

I asked why. He said because he is one of the Chief's "boys". Then he told me to find an attorney out of this county and do not attempt to file a complaint.

Your town is dead. The police are the living-dead (zombies) that feed upon the those remaining alive. Best to watch your step and don't make waves or you may find yourself a target.

Ask yourself, what you do when someone dies in your family? You leave them to the earth and go on with your life.

My advice is to grieve for your town and move on. Life is too short not to.

Youngest son is graduating high school this year. Husband has two years until earliest retirement date and is working on a transfer to anywhere but here.


I am willing and able to do "the right thing" to correct this shit for those that can NOT move on like we can. It feels like a mission I can't turn my back on...

In your first post you mentioned a big city lawyer. Why can't you get them?

You have some pretty good advice here..

There are others in town who know what's up. They are just like this attorney,
they can't take the case... not that you want a CASE at this point. Network around to find other people in town.. business owners, City workers, EMS, firemen, "connected people", to find out what's up; they are out there and they would like someone to stop this but can't or won't take this on themselves.

As suggested, line up some other folks that have interest in seeing these men taken down. You need them as your "semen stained dress" so to speak. (Otherwise known as Monica's Life Insurance Policy)

If they routinely do this kind of crap you can bet they have committed manslaughter or some other discoverable crime...

Under NO circumstances get a lawyer from your town or county.... perhaps not even a neighboring county. Find someone who will give you advice on finding counsel when the time comes... but be careful about WHO refers you to someone.

Pray for wisdom. You cannot know how big of a can of worms you may be opened up. NOT saying don't go there... just be heads up. Might need a little Godly discernment.

The Attorney General is good advice but you need to find someone who knows something about that person too.

I had a problem with some scary burglars in the neigborhood the Sheriff's office would not deal with.
A judge told me to call the State Police... "They get bored out on the hiway... they love to get called off the traffic enforcement." Consider calling the State police in on any situation that might happen.. might be good to have an independent police presence around.

Also consider finding someone who knows a SP officer personally. They might be a good source for finding the political resources and/or scuttlebutt you'll need. Officer might not want to talk to in person about this, but might second hand advise through your networked contact.

Consider retaining a court recorder for your concerned citizen group if any get on the wrong side of the PD.... and make a pact to stick together. If someone gets arrested or hassled... use a phone to call others to come and be AWARE. The PD needs to know that others know and are immediatly there.
Beware with this though... NO HOTHEADS that will run there mouth or make threats or get in the way. Just be there to make the PD aware that there are others than your family earnestly awaiting your release, or resolution. They all should have cameras. One of you gets pulled over call your friends to call others that might be nearby. Careful to do nothing unsafe... park in the street and get out of their car .... nothing that can be construed as unsafe.

Pray for wisdom. You never know what can of worms may be lurking beneath the rock you turn over. Some Godly discernment and guidance would be a good thing.

Get the goods on them and spread the word to the neighbors also. A good "clandestine" video should do the trick!
Get a good vid that shows faces and them threatening/assaulting someone and then take it to you states attorney generals office. When you do that file for a restraining order against the police department with the district court - that way they would have to show cause for detaining you or being on your property.
Next get some of those "game camera's" from Wal Mart and put them up all over your property, that way you are covered if they try and "plant" anything on you.
Lastly, KNOW YOUR RIGHTS !!! Just google "bill of rights " and learn them backwards and forwards.

I knew my rights and was quoting them chapter and verse when they barged into the house after being told no they couldn't come inside.
My attorney told me that is probably why the one said, "I'll show you what I can do!" before he started throwing me violently around the room.

He said it is never a good idea to tell a cop they are breaking the law. I couldn't help it... I was on auto pilot and furious at what was going on in my own home.

There was a movie where this happened ... it was easy ... the just fucking slit his throat and left him in the dumpster...three women could take him out like Charlie's Angels...sounds like a bitch ass cop anyway.

If ANYONE - cop or not - enters your house illegally you can legally shoot them dead on grounds of self defense.
