Honestly sir, I'm in a similar situation as your son, and I just want to tell you a couple of things.

#1. Our world is vastly different from when you were growing up. I would not recommend the military at this time, or anywhere in the near future. Perhaps when you were growing up, but we are about to enter an incredibly difficult time and I think it would better if you two stayed together. Even if that means keeping his pizza delivery job.

#2. Talk to your son. Be honest and patient with him. Try and find out what he is actually interested in. I can't tell you the number of times I wish my parents had just sat me down and asked me what i wanted to do with my life, or if I even wanted to go to college or what not.

#3. You need to be direct with him, but let him tell his side of the story. Let him explain himself, and try not to be stubborn and see his side of things, and why he does what he does.

Our geneartion is not going to have the 2 cars in the driveway and a 401K account. We are not going to have anything even somewhat close to what you and your friends had. Times are changing. Freedoms are being taken away and our Government is nearly completely infiltrated.

Sit down with your son and just talk to him. Listen to him.

It will do more than you could ever possibly know.
