RUSH: Republicans 'as dangerous to this country as the Democrat Party is' RNC HAS A DEATH WISH
Rush Limbaugh livid: GOP has death wish
Republicans 'as dangerous to this country as the Democrat Party is'

Talk-radio icon Rush Limbaugh says the Republican Party has a death wish – and is as dangerous to the United States as the Democrat Party and its czars.

Limbaugh's comments came today as he was discussing the race for Congress in New York's 23rd district, where the GOP picked a liberal nominee to oppose a liberal Democrat, passing over a conservative candidate who wanted to represent the GOP, a candidate now pursuing the seat as a third-party candidate.

"They have a death wish. The Republican Party has a death wish. Gallup: 40 percent of Americans now say they are conservative, 20 percent say they're liberal, 36 percent say they're moderates. And of those three groups, which one is being ignored – not just ignored – which one is being attacked by the Republican Party? The conservatives! " Limbaugh said today.

"It's worse than I thought. I thought this was just based on elitism and northeast moderate liberalism, and embarrassment of the people that the social issues attract to the party. But now it's just plain stupidity," he continued.

"The Republican Party, as constituted is as dangerous to this country as the Democrat Party is. 'But Rush, party loyalty is party loyalty, and the local Republican committee up there has endorsed Scozzafava.' So? I'm saying the two parties are the same. I guess I need to amend it a little bit, but, man, when I saw that they were running ads, as I say, ruined two hours of my day," he said.

Get "Taking America Back," Joseph Farah's manifesto for sovereignty, self-reliance and moral renewal

In the district, conservative Doug Hoffman has been endorsed by Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Fred Thompson and others.

But Hoffman was passed over by local Republican leaders in favor of Dede Scozzafava, who has staked out a series of liberal positions often linked to the Democrat Party, endorsing abortion and pro-homosexual perspectives.

"Running in a conservative district where the incumbent went off to be secretary of the Army, all three candidates have the distinction … of seeing their race attract national attention. … Hoffman had previously earned the backing of prominent conservative organizations such as the fiscally conservative Club for Growth and the socially conservative Concerned Women for America PAC," Limbaugh said.

An endorsement of Scozzafava by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was not what should have happened, Limbaugh said, since others supporting Scozzafava include Planned Parenthood, NARAL and others. .

"This is not how Reagan won," Limbaugh said. "Reagan was not out there talking about a big tent. If I recall correctly Reagan publicly invited liberal Republicans to go their own way. His tent was a little narrow but it was crowded. His tent was just mainstream conservatism, the kind of conservatism that founded the country. "

Limbaugh described Scozzafava as "an extreme liberal Republican who may as well be a Democrat."

"Now, Hoffman wanted to run as a Republican. He is a Republican. He was passed over by the GOP, who picked Scozzafava instead. So he's running on the Conservative Party ticket because the GOP passed him over, but this is a wakeup call for both parties," he said.

"I know the temptation for a third party is tempting, but right now conservatism is on the ascendancy, it's actually good to be a conservative, and this is the time to reassert control over the Republican Party. It's not going to be easy but the Democrats, the far left didn't go out and form a third party. They took over the Democrat Party," he said. Democrat Bill Owens is the third candidate in the race.

Good point: Liberals didn't go out and form a (viable) new party, they took over the Democrat party. Conservatives can do the same if they stand true to their ideals and don't abandon them by propping up RINOS.

The problem is you are talking about winning and losing. This isn't a game dude. It's about ideas, not people. You say 50% of people vote on looks, so instead of trying to combat that, you want to feed into it, which essentially perpetuates it.

Oh, and we RP folks pretty much have the Repub party by the balls. You won't win again without our support and if you don't put REAL conservatives (real small govt, not just lip service and that means knock out the imperialism) then we'll vote 3rd party or maybe even against you. Again. As the clock ticks more and more Repubs are standing with us.

Not in favor of the 'big tent' then you don't need us, Rush. Keep on shutting out our ideas and minimizing what we stand for. To us, having a neocon is just as bad as having a neoliberal. No difference really. So keep putting up anti-constitution corrupt neocons and you'll keep losing.

CNN Poll: 7 in 10 say Palin not qualified to be president
Posted: October 28th, 2009 03:09 PM ET

More than seven in 10 Americans think Sarah Palin is not qualified to be president, according to a new national poll.
WASHINGTON (CNN) - More than seven in 10 Americans think Sarah Palin is not qualified to be president, according to a new national poll.

Seventy-one percent of those questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Wednesday morning believe the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee is not qualified to be president, with 29 percent saying she does have the credentials to serve in the White House. Republicans appear split, with 52 percent saying she's qualified and 47 percent disagreeing with that view.

The poll indicates that about half of the country, 51 percent, has an unfavorable view of Palin, with 42 percent seeing her in a positive light. Nearly two-thirds of those questioned say Palin's not a typical politician, and feel she's a good role model for women. Fifty-six percent add that Palin cares about people, and a similar amount think she's honest and trustworthy. But the survey indicates Americans are split over whether Palin shares their values, agrees with them on the issues, or if she's a strong leader.

Republicans havent needed the Ron Paul followers to win before.

When he ran as a 3rd party candidate he got less than a million votes. When he ran for the RNC nomination he got 5% of the vote.

Conservatives need to take back the GOP like Rush said. Ive been saying that all year.

Just fix the GOP with conservatives and she will rise again.

The president of the united states must be a president who appeals to the majority. Ron Paul followers are an extreme minority but in war, would be benefited by fighting on the side of a re-born GOP than in a guaranteed loss with a 3rd party candidate.

I agree. I'm not on board w/reforming the GOP. I think it's a lost cause as it's just as big govt/anti-rights as the Dem party and just as full of corruption. Big daddystate is just as bad as the mommystate of the dems.

But you do realize that we will split the Repub party? Our numbers grow every day as more people wake up and see the corruption on both sides. We do have the advantage. And the activism. And when the races are decided by the independent vote as they have been in recent elections then it isn't smart to alienate the passionate conservatives, the real ones who follow Thomas Jefferson, not Richard Nixon.

be careful your misogyny doesnt show

she IS articulate and intelligent

the BIGGEST difference between her and RP is
he is OK with abortion up to the first trimester
and she is TOTALLY religious anti-CHOICE

this will kill her with WOMEN
from lefties to Repubs and even conservative
WOMEN

if she can soften her stance there she CAN take
the gold ring on the merry go round before a
commie/lib candidate can say Heil Karl Marx.

in all probability there will not be an election in
'12 because of the constitutional crisis coming
on due to the marxists currently running the remnants
of our Republic into the out house.

meanwhile, back at the pollsters stand, more and more
right democrats and Independents are being FORCEd to
take a close up look at exactly what they
want/need/expect from a American govt and as they do
so they see they are much more conservative than
they ever thought.

As Rush says often and did again today,
America IS a conservative nation.

Most of the population is still, at this moment,
of German descent so by heritage hard working, patriotic, responsible, caring and much like Palins
background. Self reliance is in our genes.
ALL we need now is UNITY.

IMV Palin CAN do it IF she eases up on CHOICE
so millions of women of voting age will support her.

Women NOW can carry the vote if we UNITE.
Most women put family first, and still support a
womans right to work, earn equal pay, and have
families, child care is vital to these women.

Palin is big supporter of child care and health care
for women and kids to PREVENT illness and eating
healthy for all

Small farms and affordable distribution.

She grew up among the FOLK and KNOWS the needs.

Maybe a Sarah and RAND PAUL ticket
IF we can ever have another election....?

the BIGGEST difference between her and RP is
he is OK with abortion up to the first trimester
and she is TOTALLY religious anti-CHOICE
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 776992
The biggest difference is that she is for costly pre-emptive empire expanding wars across the globe, and Ron Paul is not.

If you haven't stocked up on Food, Seasonings, Water Filtration, Durable Clothing, Tools, Guns & Ammo; & All The Other Stuff you will need to live somewhat self-sufficiently, then keep on focusing on politics.

None of this shit matters.

The American People were betrayed and sold Down The River by all elected officials at every level; not to mention those in Academia and The Professions.

This is an engineered monetary and social collapse. It is underway. Save yourself and your family by enabling some degree of self-sufficiency.

Rush Limbaugh could have made a difference 20 years ago, but he was seduced to the RINO BS.

The only talk show host in America who has been consistently & continually warning of what is now manifesting is Chuck Harder of For The People and on talkstar radio dot net.

Look at the press release today about City of Houston being bankrupt by pension obligations. Lots more to it than just that, but the canary died in this coal mine a long time ago. Nobody was watching...
