Might be an obstruction.

Does the cat still have bowel movements?

My cat ate a piece of styrofoam once and it logdge in her intestine. All her food was vomited back up. I had to get surgery for her to remove the styrofoam.

Yes they can. Most of us Westerners wear shoes indoors from the outside, after they have trekked through a parasitic environment out of doors. Animals lick the floor for crumbs or chew on their toys which are usually on the floor, and inadvertently ingest the eggs of parasites that have been deposited onto the floor via contaminated shoes. Rule of thumb in my home: remove shoes at the door and put on house slippers that I provide guests.

Vomiting up worms or worms in the stool. Weight loss and/or onset of sudden illness.

Take your kitten to the vet and have it tested for worms. Some vets provide a free test if it's your first visit.

Well it's a cat so I say throw it away and buy a new one. However, if it's a parasite problem then wormwood tincture, black walnut tincture and fresh ground cloves will kill all parasites. Just mix it in a can of tuna and the little fur ball will be ok.

I LOVE this site. All my personal/stupid questions are eventually, asked!

Anyway...............

I too, have wondered about this and here's what I've gleaned.
Yes!
How?
If our indoor cat(s) eats a mouse or rodent who has digested a worm recently (especially a mouse) then............it can get passed on to our 'indoor' cats!
My 'indoor' cats actually gets fleas too.
Man....I mean, what are the chances of me, or anyone else, walking into my home, with a goddamn flea on their shoe? My 'indoor' cats have gotten fleas twice now. No other animal (except a couple of my dates) have been in my home. And one of my cats got worms. So I've looked into these matters very methodically and I impart to you, what I've learned.

Peace and meow!

Yes.

Fleas carry the worms. When a cat grooms itself if will swallow fleas and flea eggs both carrying worm eggs.

YOU carry fleas into the house. Granted they may not bite you but fleas will hop on for a ride until a meal is nearby.

No, they swallow just fine but go and puke in the corner when you aren't looking.
