Onions and garlic will help keep you healthy but you eat them ... not leave them laying around. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25327582 You beat me to it. I'm in agreement, as I eat them on a daily basis including peppers of various sorts. Really clears the nose. I've not been sick in five years. Used to get chronic colds, flu's and bronchitus. I'll also add, I haven't had a flu shot in about six years. Who knows? Good post OP. Er, re-post. |

YOU HAVE TO PEEL AND CHOP THE ONIONS. The general rule of thumb is one medium onion per room per day. (You really just need to keep it in the two rooms where you spend the most time.) Replace the onions daily, as they dry out. I use the dried onions for soups and stir-fries. Remember -- PEEL AND CHOP THE ONIONS, and REPLACE DAILY. I also recommend using only organic (regardless of the cost), as it has more 'medicinal' ingredients. Non-organic onions are generally without balls. Cooking onions tend to have stronger 'juice', which is what you're looking for. Along with this, crush one to two cloves of ORGANIC garlic every day. Down it with a glass of chilled spring water with the juice of one squeezed ORGANIC lemon. Onion room-freshener and garlic medicine washed down with lemon juice will keep you stinky but healthy. If you feel something coming on, double or triple the garlic and lemon. It will kill any virus or bacteria in your body within a day or so. |

In 2009, scientists at the Kaohsiung Medical University in Taiwan reported that the roots of Asafoetida produce natural antiviral drug compounds that kill the swine flu virus, H1N1. In an article published in the American Chemical Society's Journal of Natural Products, the researchers said the compounds "may serve as promising lead components for new drug development" against this type of flu.[6][7]" Saves all that chopping onions, the resin smells for months.
