Why does modern metal music suck so much?

Seriously... the whole screaming/growling thing sounds fucking horrible.

Just listen to this crap:

See? It's completely ridiculous (and unintentionally hilarious). Music is not for those guys... they should quit now and spare our ears the pain.

When a singer's voice sounds like a running a cheese grater against a chalkboard, something is very wrong. I don't understand this trend or why it's so popular all of the sudden.

Maybe when this retarded trend dies out and vocalists actually start singing again, I'll consider listening to metal once more.

That's been around for decades. Good metal music with melodic vocals does exist youknow. Try checking out the Prog Metal scene, plenty of websites around.

That's been around for decades. Good metal music with melodic vocals does exist youknow. Try checking out the Prog Metal scene, plenty of websites around.

Lol, i totally agree. There's nothing worse when you think "whoa this is good" til the "singer" opens his mouth. I think screaming in itself can be done right and sound good, like Linkin Park or Filter, whether or not you like them, but most times it just ruins it.
