The first song was pretty good... although it sounded a bit too "punky" for my taste (I'm not especially big on punk music).
The second one again features screaming. I just can't get into the screamed vocals... they're too sharp and stick out too much, watering the music down.
I will say the music itself is refreshingly technical and well-composed. Not bad for a three-piece band... not bad at all.

The screamed vocals once again annoyed me a bit, but I'll give him props for enunciating the words well enough for me to understand what he was saying.
I find Mr. Townsend's vocal range to be impressive, nonetheless. I'd say he has at least a three octave range just from what little I've heard.
I also just realized after a bit of research that Townsend was the one who did the vocals on Steve Vai's album Sex & Religion... most intriguing.
Still, I prefer the song you posted initially. I've since listened to more of the album Ki... and I have a hunch that I just found a new favorite band.
A good call on your part, AC 806240. I'm not an easy guy to persuade, but you've managed to do it quite well.
OK what ever we are clearly done, all im saying is you claim to be a "fan" and you select the weakest ironmaiden song to showcase them?
You pissed yourself!
"Weakest" Iron Maiden song?
Number of the Beast (both the song AND the album) is bad ass. You must be completely out of your head to seriously suggest that it's the "weakest" Iron Maiden song.
I believe we are indeed done. I have nothing more to say to someone who thinks NOTB is "weak".
PS..If you are going to talk shit about how good NOTB is and then post a "Killers" song? As a for "The road" WTF?
Here's one for the road:

I agree. Why did you pick the most overplayed(Its a fucking good song) But It is one of 2-3 songs that the average fan can name.(That makes it a shitty song, no matter what any "FAN BOY" says. Real fans can enjoy those songs, but should not speak of them.
Everone knows that Hallowed be thy name is the best song off NOTB.

Sweet, It should keep you busy for a while. 3 more albums soon from him as well. All different styles.
I love almost all metal, been around it since the 80's thrash scene, I agree most new stuff is not good or it's just regurgitated pieces of stuff that has already been done. Oh well if you like it JAM it, if not don't listen.
Up the IRONS!

yea i was like you when i first heard screaming, hated it. but it grew on me, it can be dynamic when strategic. as for growling and 100% scream all the time, get the fuck out.
they are probably the most talented band i know of. the guy sings and plays that shit live very cleanly.
i posted the 2 extremes of there music, the 1st was there huge single that made it big for them. 2nd was there hardcore crap. there new stuff is amazing, i recommend checking them out more. they don't scream that much, only when necessary.
thanks for checkin em out!
ROCK ON

Who are you to decide who's a "real fan", and what they should and should not do as such?
I enjoy NOTB for what it is: a good song (and album). Just because it's "overplayed" doesn't make it a "shitty song" in any way, shape or form.
You pretty much lost credibility (along with the other guy) by insinuating NOTB is "shitty"... for any reason.
Also... I picked Murders at the Rue Morgue to stab back at the other guy for making a scene about how I picked a "mainstream" song... and I think Killers is a damn good album itself.
I'll leave it at that... with some more awesome jam from the Maiden:

All subjective I suppose. After all there is STILL only 12 notes, or eight if you are not including sharps and flats. STILL only seven modes and only so many chords or usable chord progressions that will work pending on each style of music.
Honestly, I hear metal (current/past), funk, rock, pop, classical, jazz, country, marching, musical theatre and new world beat and honestly, we are still using the same damn chords and tensions. After all a flat nine, sus chord or minor seven flat five used by a guitar is no different than an entire orchestra..same notes. So...I guess music has always sucked in one way or another..or has it always been good or ? Revolutionary online garden produces delicious Organic Produce!

I have a friend who's the guitarist in a pretty popular metal band (in my area) and I constantly tell him that he needs to give it up because of their singer (screamer), the music is awesome, until you hear the screaming. Just scrambles my brain, and not in a good way. :-P

Generally I'd have to agree with the OP....however, there are a lot of bands with harsh vocals that I hold in high regard: (old) Fear Factory, Morbid Angel, Skinny Puppy, for example- each of these bands understood how to balance the harshness properly.
In the case of Skinny Puppy (more industrial than metal, I know), the mostly harsh vocals intentionally wring a response out of you, and provide an awesome contrast to Cevin Key's often beautiful and hypnotizing electronic melodies.
Sample of what I mean:
