The son of a former Toronto police chief is calling for a public inquiry into recent allegations levelled against Julian Fantino in a $2.5-million lawsuit filed by another officer.
Officer Mike McCormack, son of former chief William McCormack, issued a press release saying he and a number of other officers are offended that Fantino called the lawsuit a "bunch of evil lies."
The lawsuit, filed by Const. Rob Correa last week, alleges that Fantino and other senior officers conspired to sabotage the constable's reputation and cover up embarrassing information about Fantino's family during his time as the police chief. None of the allegations have been tested in court.
Correa's lawsuit claims negligent investigation and malicious prosecution in the laying of internal police charges against him in 2004 for alleged links to a cocaine addict and convicted car thief. He was acquitted and now claims charges were laid without any evidence.
McCormack is not involved in the lawsuit, but claims he was also "wrongfully charged" with corruption by Fantino about two years ago. He was cleared of the charges in January.
"When my family went through years of false allegations, Mr. Fantino was reported as saying, 'What do you want me to do, bring out a crying towel?'" McCormack said in the press release.
McCormack calls Fantino's comments about the lawsuit "hypocritical."
His brother, Billy McCormack Jr., has been charged criminally and is before a preliminary hearing, accused of shaking down nightclub owners for protection money.

Their daddy, former police chief, Bill McCormack is a highly paid consultant with an undisclosed, national private investiagtors firm, and since he has been protecting corrupt cops for centuries, the boys feel like they are untouchable. |

Two prominent legal experts will lead a review of how Ontario prosecutes complex criminal cases – but the attorney general says the recent collapse of a massive corruption trial involving Toronto police drug squad officers won't be part of their investigation.
"I'm looking forward, not backwards," Chris Bentley said yesterday in announcing that Patrick LeSage, former chief justice of the Superior Court of Justice, and Michael Code, a University of Toronto law professor, will lead a "focused" six-month investigation.

Justice Minister Rob Nicholson insists the federal government will not get involved in Quebec's investigation into Mafia corruption in the construction industry.
Nicholson said he's confident the $26.8-million police investigation called by Premier Jean Charest is "an appropriate way" to handle the issue, even if provincial politicians are implicated in the scandal.
The minister said the administration of justice is primarily a provincial responsibility.
He did not address the possibility that federal infrastructure money may be involved in the scandal, in which 14 Montreal-area firms are alleged to be involved in a price-fixing scheme tied to public-works projects.
A retired Quebec bureaucrat-turned-whistleblower said outside firms would be shut out while participating companies would alternately set the bid price on contracts and the others would then submit higher bids.

Good question.
I did a little google search and found the answer.
Out of 3500 union members, 2400 of them voted AGAINST him ! They didn't even want him in as the president. The only reason he got in was because of a split vote between Rondi & George. Had it been between Mike & George, he would have lost by a tonne. If members want a corrupt cop for president - they sure got it now.
That's what they were saying on other boards about his win.
But do they know how corrupt he really is?

In early January 2008, reporter John Duncanson made several calls to the corrupt Mike McCormack. Needless to say he was soliciting information about his corrupt activities. According to Mccormack, Duncanson had requested a meeting with him because he was worried about an upcoming court appearance over a second conviction for drunk driving likely to result in a 10-day jail sentence that he was living on the street and trying to get in a rehabilitation program and that he was requesting help on account of Mike Mccormack's big heart.
What a load of freaking crap! Was the very same John Duncanson who made mincemeat out of corrupt cops, asking Mike McCormack to corrupt the process for him? Needless to say, if Mike Mccormack told us about the criminal reportage that John Doncanson solicited, he would implicate himself, so he fabricated a story that proves the old adage -it's not the crime, it's the cover up stupid.
Mike McCormack's big heart smothered John Duncanson to death and he should be held accountable.
Since Mike McCormack had secretely tape-recorded conversations with Duncanson while the vulnerable and distraught man was held in a cell at 51 Division for public drunkenness, it is clear that this reporter was a target of McCormack's wrath because Duncanson was deeply involved in covering a story about wrongdoing by the Toronto police force and McCormack likes to silence his critics.
The charges were serious. Extortion, obstruction of justice, falsifying notes, links to organized crime and the death of McCormack's contact who was allegedly linked to organized crime, placed McCormack int he eye of the storm.
Needless to say, Mike McCormack's BIG FAT HEAD IS BIGGER THAN HIS HEART, AND HE SHOULD BE ARRESTED FOR THE MURDER OF ACE REPORTER, JOHN DUNCANSON.
Duncanson's widow does not buy McCormack's BULLSHIT !
Her comments are absolutely clear !

john duncanson was a friend of mine from the college days. though i hadn't seen him since then, i was shocked at his death. i remember john as a friendly person who was always quick to help. i was very happy for him when i saw he'd become the police reporter for the toronto star - a very high profile and coveted position. |

Watch out for this because it speaks of a federalist agenda by the Federal Reserve. The fact is that if the county sheriff and police stand in the way of federalism, then it would serve a nwo order to take over the counties and by the abuse of the media where the journalists might not speak up against it...but then they might as I am seeing more truth in the news and this is excellent to say the least.
