I did email my congressman last night and hopefully he will reconsider his decision to vote yes to this Health Care Reform bill. I have already gone to local meetings where he was taking question and stood there for one hour in the hot sun and debated with him plus I have a bad back but I am determined to do my best to get through to my senator and congressman that this is all wrong for the American people. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 789260
Kudos, AC!! Rally others in your circle of friends, family and community to do the same. Call your Senators' offices EVERYDAY...send them e-mails.
I can hear people now "Ohhhhh....I couldn't do that. I would annoy them." Yes, that is the point: to annoy them, to let them know you are watching, to let them know they are responsible to The People, to let them know you believe they are abdicating their responsibility to The People and have become rogue, that they are violating their oath to uphold the Constitution and acting far outside their enumerated power, to let them know they are not given the power to remove your freedom of choosing medical care for your body. Discuss specifics of the bill language so they know you have conducted your due diligence lending credibility to your call. Help your circle of friends and family do the same.
Do NOT stop. I have burned up the connections half way across the world to my Senators' offices (and Reps with 3200). If I can do it from afar, so can everyone else. Do it as a ritual over morning coffee. Be civil but confident and firm.
DO NOT STOP.

We HELP AND FUND them now:
it's called Medicaid, Medicare and the VA.
If those programs are not covering the "poor and the sick", then adjust them so they will, FFS.
You don't purchase a new car because the one you currently own needs an oil filter. FIX WHAT WE HAVE TO INCLUDE THOSE WHO ARE NOT COVERED.
And leave freedom of choice for medical care in place!
Come on, AC, I invited you to debate this earlier. Pony up. Tell us your reasons you believe we should junk pile the current car because it only needs an oil filter.

It will only cover ten percent of the population. It's primary goal is to destroy the current healthcare system. "The poor" are only an excuse because if people are really poor they already qualify for Medicaid.
It is going to make people who cannot afford it buy healthcare anyway and will HURT THE POOR! THE POOR will have no choice but to buy insurance under this plan and don't count on them classifying you as qualifying for some kind of break because it does not cover enough people to do that. And the IRS will collect and enforce this so don't plan to just not buy it. They will find you the same way they do for taxes.
Forcing "the poor" to buy insurance on top of paying the Cap and Trade tax on electricity is going to hurt "the poor" most of all! |

Actually, they are! Each state is required to have a carrier that will take the high risk patients. At least people can get care if they can afford it.
Under this NEW bill, it will be illegal to treat certain people and disease because it is not cost effective. And since you have no concern for the elderly, there are just such conditions that effect ALL ages.
Care will be based on whether or not it is COST EFFECTIVE to treat. So if you have something chronic, not cost effective, forgetaboudit! Not gonna get treatment. Illegal to provide care for anything not cost effective regardless of age, etc. |

What will happen if this bill passes is that in a few years they will also gut this government program so that even if you do have the government in surance it will do you absolutely no good, you will get only the medical care that the government (which is already incredibily bankrupt) will allow you to have, and that will be less and less until it will be all the same as having no insurance. But what is worse there will be far fewer doctors and hospitals to go around.

Yes and yet we have shills claiming it will help the poor! Nothing could be farther from the truth. There will be no care for anybody.
You don't make one person well by making another sick just as you can't make one person rich by making everybody poor.
No way can the current system accommodate thirty million more people with no more hospitals or doctors. And there is no money for more of either. Remember it is going to "save" money by denial of treatment.
But not to worry! The rationing doesn't start until after the next presidential election so the Obama shills will most likely continue to think they are getting something for nothing.
They will probably again vote for him thinking that and the rationing doesn't start until it's too late. |

After studying for 7 years to become a doctor, then going in for 7 years of internship at a hospital, what doctor in his/her right mind would want some appointed bureaucrat to overrule his/her decision on how to treat a patient?
I sure as heck wouldn't. That's why there will be fewer and fewer good, experienced doctors left after they've had quite enough of going through red tape and frustration only to have their advisement turned down. What do you tell the patient other than plan to end their life in a hospice at the mercy of the government who will decide how you die.

We need someone who can translate the government doublespeak in this bill. It's almost impossible to read. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 765854
the quick read says that individuals will be taxed 2.5% of wages if no insurance, so if you never go to a doctor, dear Nancy will be looting your wallet, the brief smell test below skips a majority of the 2000 page read and may or may not be accurate enough for all... so read the crap yourself, If this MONSTER passes and the O man signs it EXPECT THE STOCK MARKET TO REACT VERY BADLY, DOW 2500 here we come.... LOOK OUT BELOW!
business' with payroll more than 750k will owe 8% of gross in addition to what ever coverage currently being paid... even if they currently offer health insurance!! they are required to cover large % of including family members, about 60% to 78% mandated covered depending on many factors, companies already cover plans paying rates in this range; the result will DECIMATE ALL AMERICAN BUSINESS and CAUSE MASSIVE UNEMPLOYMENT BEYOND ANY IMAGINATION, all companies will be forced to do the public plan, which is the idea, wipe out the FREE MARKET WHILST ENSLAVING ALL!
An 8% hit is tough on any small company and will CRUSH companies with thousands of employees with swift action, this will result in MASSIVE SHORTAGES OF THE THINGS EVERYONE REQUIRES TO EXIST! A PERFECT OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR ENEMIES TO INVADE, how perfect the storm...lol
WILL THE RESULT OF THIS PASSING close all companies with less than 8% profit margins and most likely wipeout companies with much higher margins?
It won't take much longer wait to find out.
Those individuals who option out and hunt and gather for food (road kill or food scraps) and have no employment will owe nothing and still get zero free health care, squatting in abandoned homes is looking quite attractive again... those who ignore this threat will wake up one day to a nightmare that will not end, such a fitting pagan holiday it is indeed!
Resident aliens are not included although hospitals are still not permitted to reject there treatment... so this loophole that is adding massive expenses is ignored... as expected
congress members are exempt of course, why should these elite avoid the proletariat squeeze you ask?? because KARL MARX says so!
can you spell Animal Farm, go ask George Orwell... he's dead but his evil ideas live on like the energizer bunny, somehow old George is getting the last laugh and we puppets are NOT AMUSED!! Of course Orwell's intent was to alarm the masses, funny how the sheeple react, this is a declaration or war AGAINST THE ENTIRE AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE!
so next TUESDAY be sure to VOTE for your favorite LIER, THIEF and MURDERER!!

2%!
So, if only 2% of the entire uninsured population qualifies, then that forces the remaining 98% of those either uninsured or underinsured to pay for insurance they obviously cannot afford!

Democracy btw means that 50.001% of the people get to tell that other 49.999% what to do.
But then the democracy we are speaking of on this or any other bill is a simple majority (or 2/3's majority) of 536 People... a.k.a. Congress.
Now, let's consider this for a moment, there are roughly 300 Million US Citizens being represented by these 535 Congress Critters +1 VP. that is a total of 536 people... now those 536 make up 536/300,000,000 = .00000178% of the people. This is representative democracy? And so we see that those .00000178% decide what the rest of us, the 99.99999822% can or can not do.

This death-care bill is all about control.. that's what these tyrants seek, is MORE control over OUR lives. This, plus cap and trade = death to the economy. Thomas Jefferson

"We have in this country one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Banks. Some people think the Federal Reserve Banks are U.S. government institutions. They are not government institutions. They are private credit monopolies; domestic swindlers, rich and predatory money lenders which prey upon the people of the United States for the benefit of themselves and their foreign customers. The Federal Reserve banks are the agents of the foreign central banks. The truth is the Federal Reserve Board has usurped the Government of the United States by the arrogant credit monopoly which operates the Federal Reserve Board." --Congressman Louis T. | | Re: **READ LATEST VERSION HEALTH CARE BILL HERE** | Quote | On Page 252 is the table for the cost of this insurance if purchased by an individual. It is based on the Federal Poverty Level which is $10,830 for an individual in 2009 as an example. The "out of pocket cost" is then based on that and percentages over it that are gross adjusted income which includes interst and any other sources of income. This is for THE POOR who do not qualify for insurance under employer and is only for the most basic coverage the govt offers. There are two better plans but they cost more.
Then on Page 297 is the "tax" for not having insurance which is basically 2.5% of that same adjusted gross income but not to be more than the premiums would have been if one had paid them in the first place.
Page 59B of the IRS Code of 1986 sets up the IRS as Enforcer and basically this is what it says:
"TITLE III—SHARED RESPONSIBILITY
Subtitle A—Individual Responsibility
SEC. 301. INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY.
For an individual’s responsibility to obtain acceptable coverage, see section 59B of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (as added by section 401 of this Act).
SEC. 322. SATISFACTION OF HEALTH COVERAGE PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS UNDER THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1986.
(a) FAILURE TO ELECT, OR SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLY WITH, HEALTH COVERAGE PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS.—For employment tax on employers who fail to elect, or substantially comply with, the health coverage participation requirements described in part 1, see section 3111(c) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (as added by section 412 of this Act).
(b) OTHER FAILURES.—For excise tax on other failures of electing employers to comply with such requirements, see section 4980H of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (as added by section 411 of this Act).
TITLE IV—AMENDMENTS TO INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1986
Subtitle A—Shared Responsibility
PART 1—INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY
SEC. 401. TAX ON INDIVIDUALS WITHOUT ACCEPTABLE HEALTH CARE COVERAGE.
(a) IN GENERAL.—Subchapter A of chapter 1 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended by adding at the end the following new part: ‘‘Subpart A—Tax on Individuals Without Acceptable Health Care Coverage ‘‘Sec. 59B. Tax on individuals without acceptable health care coverage. ‘‘SEC. 59B. TAX ON INDIVIDUALS WITHOUT ACCEPTABLE HEALTH CARE COVERAGE.
‘‘(a) TAX IMPOSED.—In the case of any individual who does not meet the requirements of subsection (d) at any time during the taxable year, there is hereby imposed a tax equal to 2.5 percent of the excess of—
‘‘(1) the taxpayer’s modified adjusted gross income for the taxable year, over
‘‘(2) the amount of gross income specified in section 6012(a)(1) with respect to the taxpayer.
SEC. 6050X. RETURNS RELATING TO HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE.
‘‘(a) REQUIREMENT OF REPORTING.—Every person who provides acceptable coverage (as defined in section 59B(d)) to any individual during any calendar year shall, at such time as the Secretary may prescribe, make the return described in subsection (b) with respect to such individual.
‘‘(b) FORM AND MANNER OF RETURNS.—A return is described in this subsection if such return—
‘‘(1) is in such form as the Secretary may prescribe, and
‘‘(2) contains—
‘‘(A) the name, address, and TIN of the primary insured and the name of each other individual obtaining coverage under the policy,
‘‘(B) the period for which each such individual was provided with the coverage referred to in subsection (a), and
‘‘(C) such other information as the Secretary may require.
‘‘(c) STATEMENTS TO BE FURNISHED TO INDIVIDUALS WITH RESPECT TO WHOM INFORMATION IS REQUIRED.—Every person required to make a return under subsection (a) shall furnish to each primary insured whose name is required to be set forth in such return a written statement showing—
‘‘(1) the name and address of the person required to make such return and the phone number of the information contact for such person, and
‘‘(2) the information required to be shown on the return with respect to such individual. The written statement required under the preceding sentence shall be furnished on or before January 31 of the year following the calendar year for which the return under subsection (a) is required to be made."
So you will file a "return" to the IRS to prove you have insurance.
That's as far as I can go for now but do look at the chart on Page 252 to see that this can cost up to $2,000 a year for "the poor"! |

BECOME it to achieve it.

This bill is a true monster. ANd this monster will kill what is left of the USA as a people. It will turn this nation into a vast number of have-absolutely-not and the few have a great amounts.
Have we become the sharecroppers on the Plantation? Are we now indentured servants?
With mandated national health insurance for those making over $9,500 it becomes obvious Pelsoi et. al. see us nothing more than slaves on their plantation.
A Federal Head Tax has always been considered unconstitutional, always, and that is exactly what this bill inpart proposes.
The US Fed Government is now in extreme violation of its Constitutional mandates and limitations. |

IT is one thing for the Son of God to mandate it as the will of God that we all help each other, that we love another, it is an entirely different thing for the US Congress to mandate what is otherwise an act of Charity and Love for another. It is in fact Congress attempting to establish its own religion. |
