And now I want my fucking money back. I mean what the hell all this build up about the scariest movie of the year and I get a blair witch type movie in a bedroom. This is how it went

funny because everyone I know who watched it liked it. I thought the ending was shocking. It bothered me but then again I've had issues with hauntings and ghosts and things of that nature.
the entity tortured them until they were broken down physically and mentally. It killed the guy. I've heard of ghosts killing people before. |

The problem is not the ideas or scripts, I have seen plenty that sold and get "OPTIONED". Much like music..there are plenty of great compositions, arrangers, composers, songwriters and groups, but while writing in "lydian" mode is cool and throwing out some odd time signatures is neat..it doesn't get picked up by the majors.
SO, while there "ARE" plenty of new concepts, fresh ideas and attempts to experiment, the ones with the money and power do not like to take risk.
I have been offered points before on productions and much like the stock market it is awfully hard to buy into something that has little guarantee of a return, so I can understand the investor's line of thinking for what it is worth, but not from the creative side.

I knew before I went to see this movie that it was probably a waste of time and money and it was indeed a waste of time and money.
OP is right. It was the just one boring frame after another. Even the ending was boring. I have seem much better on YouTube.
The hype was a hoax. There is nothing interesting or scary in this movie. It was flat, predictable, lousy acting and a lazy stupid ending. |

What exactly is naive? All you just did is say exactly what I said. That duplication is what people do and that there are good things that simply sit. Not sure where the naive is coming from.
Maybe the line about creative side vs. stock broker confused you? Look at it this way, a line producer and I will NEVER get along, but give me a good researcher or in music I will want to strangle the executive, but not the union guy...well, then again, I have wanted to KILL union in both film, television and music...sigh.

Actually this was one of the very few movies I've ever seen that was actually scary. I suspect the people who are the most critical of it were disappointed because it is indeed NOT mainstream in its approach. I suspect those of you with ADHD will not like it because it doesn't have car chases and nothing is exploding and no one is being disemboweled within the first 25 seconds of its beginning. This movie actually attempts to portray ordinary people facing extraordinary circumstances and events and trying to deal with them, and it does a damn good job of it. This movie is excellent, if you haven't seen it, DO. |
